Dr. Monahan is incredible. I highly recommend her if you need an Optometrist. She is amazing with children. She made my 7 year old daughter feel safe and comfortable. My daughter kept having recurring pink eye. The urgent cares would prescribe medicine for bacterial pink eye. Dr. Monahan found she had viral pink eye and that was why it would get better then come back. She prescribed us a different medication and it cleared up. I couldn't get my daughter back for her follow up and it was a few weeks after when I was supposed to take her there. The lady that answers the phone told me I would have to pay for another appointment because of the delay in getting her back for the follow up. Dr. Monahan did the eye exam, told me my daughters eye was 95% healed. She prescribed us some more of the medication that got her eye healed to have on hand if it flares up again and to put 1 drop in for the next 2 weeks. After the exam she walked us out, she saw me going over to pay for the appointment and told me that I didn't have to pay because it was a follow up (which wasn't what the phone lady told me). She is so kind. I am completely blown away by the whole operation! I was paying $150-200 for at the Urgent Care places to get medication and they weren't even treating the right problem. Dr. Monahan was $68 for the appointment, the follow up and a new prescription to have on hand if I needed it. Nothing I can say will express the level at which I recommend Dr. Monahan especially if you have a young child. I give her a 11/10! read more

Don't come here. I had a very simple repair. My nonprescription Ray Ban Wayfarers had a scratched lens, so I bought new lenses and just needed them put in. They had a giant Ray Ban sticker in the window so I figured it should be no problem. After spending 15 minutes of two of the people trying to get them out, they came out and told me my best option was to take a hammer and smash the lenses myself, so that they could get the news lenses in. This seemed completely wrong even with my lack of experience in eyeglass repair. In the meantime they had exacerbated the crack, and made them look worse than they did when I came in. I asked if they knew anyone who could repair them, and they claimed that taking a hammer to a $150 pair of sunglasses was the best option, and that they didn't know anywhere. Rather than taking a hammer to my sunglasses (again, WTF?!?), I went to LensCrafters and they did it in 5 minutes for free. It was absolutely no problem for them. This store doesn't have the ability to do repairs at best, and is full of incompetent people at best. Stay away, and go to LensCrafters or any other place you trust. I can't believe they were unable to do such a simple repair and lacked the professionalism to refer me to somewhere that could do the repair. read more

Not too impressed with the new store staff. I've been a customer of Eyeglass Express for a few years now but probably will not return. Businesses should really pay attention to their customer service. It says a lot of a company and can make or break your business. With that being said, I found what I needed as far as glasses go from another business that took the time to treat me like my business was valuable to them. Eyeglass Express could care less that I walked out the door. They did nothing to assist me except to tell me they didn't take insurance although the woman who I spoke with seemed to know a lot about my insurance but was also not in the helping mood. Anyway, it's their loss. I won't recommend any business that treats their potential customers as if they don't have time for them. read more

This place is FANTASTIC. I walked in after having lost my glasses the night before. They squeezed me in as a walk in with a FULLY booked docket. Dr. Charlene Felser was amazing to work with. Honestly, this was probably one of the best customer service experiences I have ever had. Everyone was super friendly and super welcoming. I walked in and out in less than 45 minutes and had a BLAST buying glasses. I would recommend making an appointment because I think I got super lucky with the way the timing worked out, but honestly some of the nicest people in Gainesville. I was a terrible customer (did not buy glasses) but man I was super close to doing it. They have an awesome frame selection and and the front desk knows how to make you look GOOD. love love love! this place. read more

I called about 8 places to see how much getting a regular eye exam for contact lens would cost and this place gave me the cheapest quote. Prescription is valid for 2 years. Was easily able to make an appointment on the phone and didn't have to wait very long. Dr. Brad Bangstad was friendly, professional and efficient. EDIT: I got a notice a while ago that the optometrist I saw had moved. I forgot where to. I went back there more recently but didn't like the service so I left. read more

Went in and got same day lenses made. They came out perfect. Got home to find the original lenses were no returned. Two completely different lenses were returned that don't fit the frame. Was told they broke when they were being taken out. They didn't return the broken lenses but threw them away. How do I know they weren't stolen? Was offered a discount on ordering new lenses. I don't want a discount. I want my original lenses. read more

I went for a contact lens exam. I would like to say that I've been here before and saw Tiffany Monahan, who was great, is a wonderful doctor, however, this review is not about her, unfortunately. First of all, the receptionist was rude and did not smile or was nice. Very bad vibe off her, which makes you uncomfortable when you first walk in. Great. The doctor (she didn't introduce herself, but on the prescription it says her name is Charlene Felser), seemed unsure of herself and seemed lacking in confidence. She didn't know she was giving me an contact lens exam, and was writing my prescription as soon as I sat down in the exam room, and I was like.. "..Wait, am I not getting an eye exam?" -_- So onto the exam. The equiptment was freaking DIRTY. The little mirror that they use to look into your eyes had tear drops and splooge on it from the previous eyeballs that had been in there, the lens that you look through where they ask you "one.. or two?", was difficult to look through because they were dirty, as if someone had stuck their greasy finger in them. I was shocked and embarrassed about this, so of course I didn't say anything. She didn't even give me a new prescription! I know that my vision is not as good as it was last year, but she told me that my vision hadn't changed "that much." I am so unsure of her opinion as a doctor that I want to go somewhere else and get a second opinion, which is something I have never done before. They didn't even know what to charge me. I called and they said 100$, and the doctor told me 100$, but they charged me 80$. I am not complaining, but if they don't even know what to charge me for an exam, it seems like they don't have their shit together. I don't like to write bad reviews about places, but I have been wearing contact lens for like a decade, and I am only 21. I have been seeing eye doctors since the first grade, and I have never seen anything as unprofessional as this eye exam was. It is hard enough to deal with terrible vision without having to go through such an uncomfortable experience. I will NEVER come here again. I hope that the walmart next door gets a vision center, so that this place will go out of business. That's how bad they were. read more

Dr. Tiffany Monahan was excellent. She was very nice and talkative despite the shortness of the exam. I see perfectly with the new glasses as opposed to my old ones which I could only wear to read; which tells me that the last eye exam went wrong. I had to express my surprise about the price of the exam right of way because it was really cheap. She talked to me about my eye condition with detail and gave me good advice. As far as the glasses go, I got a pair for free I don't even need. They look as good as the ones I had to pay for. It almost seems like a waste of resources. They were ready for pick up 4 hours after which just blew my mind. Specially since they have a tint and UV protection, I thought that it would take longer. read more

Went in today for a contact exam. Called beforehand to check if they had walk-in availability (it's a wednesday) and they said around 11-1 was mostly empty. I showed up at 10:30 figuring there would be paperwork and they got me in right away. Left within an hour with my trial contact lenses. Everyone I Interacted with was friendly and helpful. Price seemed pretty reasonable, unfortunately it seems like no one really offers deals on contacts (especially with an astigmatism) like they do with glasses. read more

Let me start by first saying that the doctor (Dr. Johnson) was very friendly and made me feel comfortable right away. I think he should get 5 stars. He explained everything he was doing and asked questions regarding my vision history. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff was horrible. RUDE and HORRIBLE "customer service" 1) I was not informed of the conditions of their BOGO sale until after I had picked out frames. 2) I was told I could not pick up my glasses until the following day and that I had to put 50% down. (I was with a friend of mine when she was picking up her glass, she didn't pay anything down. WHY the inconsistency?) 3) When I came back the next day, the glasses were ready, but then they tried to sell me different lenses. ???? options a) tell me about these before my glasses were made. OR b) CALL ME, since you wrote my phone number down 3 different time. 4) When it came to fitting my glasses, neither of the people working there would actually LOOK at how the glasses were sitting on my face. I would tell them they "don't feel right" they would take them to the back room, do some adjustment, and bring them back for me to try on. I fixed them myself after I left. You'd think that with the economy the way it is, customer service would be more important than ever, but apparently not for this place. My suggestion ... go see Dr. Johnson but take your script somewhere else. read more
