I am writing for the poor employees now yes I had an appointment and I was left over 30 mins near an hour later! It was appreciated and kind of the employees to apologise but THEY SHOULD NOT! It should've been management. You could see how over worked they were or couldn't even interact or try help each other like head less chickens running around cleaning their mess and I say today was the only day ! Half of them are yawning or look like they don't want to be there ! I knew someone who worked there a good while ago and I used to try give benefit of doubt but clearly can't after this today. The work environment is not acceptable I wouldn't blame them if they wanted to hand in their notices!! There is not enough staff funny how it seems very few people working and expected to everything and feel good about their job! This is one place I won't be getting services from not because of the employees but because the management and owners who clearly cannot manage and take care of their staff. I made a joke and the poor girl couldn't even tell she was so confused trying to focus and apologised ? I said you've no need to apologise just looked like you needed a laugh she thanked me and appreciated it and said we all do it's been a day . And yet still polite and respectful to all customers saying good bye or take care. Funny at one stage while waiting we all discussed about it ! Clearly place needs to be closed down we would rather been a store with excellent customer service and staff happy not stressed ! Plenty of issues glasses, tests,contacts, miss information I could go on. I hope this clearly changes because you cannot keep wasting people times it's ridiculous no other employment I have been in have I ever come across this ! Do better and do not give and complain to your employees because this is on you Specsavers Dawson Street! No one there are complaints try to shut customers up but you cannot blame us for being annoyed ! Best of luck employees yes it is hard but I recommend to GET OUT ! I called a few weeks ago and didn't have the best experience. But these amazing staff members really take a prize ! This morning I had called, I was a bit nervous because the last time the girl on the phone was rude, but Jade kindly introduced herself and the store and how could she help me. I asked a few questions about the lens for glasses and prsi questions, offers I heard and had no issue helping me and I mentioned I had a frame I liked and if I could re-use it! She asked me if I'd like to check if I am eligible for Prsi (I asked these same questions before and wasn't sure how I was going to be spoken to) I apologised it took me about 10 minutes or so but she reassured me and said no worries take your time. Which put me at ease! We checked and I am fully qualified and I had an eye test but I'll be due one around Christmas and she said we would be happy to help book your appointment for when you are available to come into store or if your more comfortable I can online whichever works for me and my schedule. I thanked her for her generosity and will definitely be asking for her when I decide to book! Although I didn't buy anything today, I went on my lunch break I was kindly greeted by Davy at the front desk and said he would find something to help me, either take seat in the waiting area or have a browse. Then I met Katelyn, I loved her attitude and you can tell she cares for her job! She helped me with options and found styles/colours I wouldn't have guessed suited me! She apologised as someone I believe her boss maybe had looked for her and would return back to help. I had a more look and Rebecca came over to me and asked if I was okay or needed help with anything, I thanked her I was being looked after then a few minutes later I asked her some questions and she was so knowledgeable and sweet explained everything to me which really helped! She excused herself as she was asked for. I didn't mind I knew it was very busy and everyone was so respectful! Katelyn came back and I discussed my conversation with Rebecca. You can tell the staff enjoyed working together and have a lovely atmosphere! We went through prices and all my million questions poor girl, and not once did she turn away or looked annoyed, no issue nor fuss! I thanked her for her time and I took all the notes she gave and information for when I can come back into store. I am so pleased and grateful for this experience and definitely restored my faith, I judged too quick and shouldn't have! Thank you to everyone who helped and accommodated me. You all are gold stars! The glasses have repeatedly broken and gotten loose. Each time, they fixed it for free! I was expecting to pay upwards of €100 to fix my horribly mangled set of frames, but all free! Donal O Malley, upstairs, is my optician, and does an excellent job. He has more than 30 years optician experience, and has seen every issue before. While I could be given a stronger prescription, and while other opticians have suggested I need a stronger one, he tells me that my eyes will just degrade faster if I do. So a small bit of discomfort now for much bigger benefits later, boom.

I have never had issues with my eyes but this weekend i started to suffer a lot of pain in both my…read moreeyes, so much so that i have been using eye drops, pain killers and even resorted to ice packs on both eyes, to try and alleviate the pain. I made an appointment on Monday to be seen at 16.40 the following Thursday. I mulled this over and thougyt three days is a long time but i can wait. I arrived there today at 16.40 only to be told i didnt have a appointment as it is for next week. There is no way i booked for Thursday week. Eventhough i am in a lot of pain, they offer no help of solution. I have now wasted 3 days where i could have arraigned a different optician to see me. So now there are no opticians open for me to try and get an appointment, i will have to book somewhere else a possibility spend another weekend in pain. I have never seen such a lack of empathy from anyone. This is singularly the worst experience i have ever experienced, and i have gotten my arm caught caught in a 40 tonne machine, broke two bones in one arm, and watched as my son fought meningitis. Such a lack of caring i though was impossible from someone in the a field of practice that is supposed help people. I have never given a review before, be it good or bad and i intend never to do again but this business (and i use that term lightly) is beyond reprehensible and if you, your family, friends or your worst enemy mentions they are going to them, i would just give them red hot knitting needles and tell them to insert them in their own eyes as it would be a dam sight better that stepping one foot across the threshold of that place.

In a panic I stumbled into Spec Savers in the Dun Laoghaire shopping centre and was duly guided to a chair while someone looked after the specs. 2 mins later I had newly repaired specs, new nose bit thingys and to cap it off, no fee at all... all part of the service apparently. Great stuff, the sort of thing that encourages you go back!

While there I decided that I may as well get my eyesight checked as it has been about a year since my last check up. They were able to fit me in and took my glasses off to check them before giving me an eye test which they then did quite throughly. Health of my eyes all good no drastic change in my vision so I did not need new glasses. I asked about the operation you can have to correct your sight but I was told that my eye sight was not really bad enough. I do like it when I am advised that I dont have to spend money. I also asked about getting frames from on line - I had noticed the cost of their frames in the shop and I was told there would be a charge of €45 for them doing the fitting. I was very impressed that I was not pushed into buying anything else and all my questions were answered clearly and to my satisfaction. While there I thought I may as well get my hearing checked as I do on occasion get told by family members that they think that I am deaf. Had head phones put over my ears to block any sound and all I had to do was press a button when I heard any sound from a machine. Simple. Tested well for my hearing and asked the girl to confirm to said mother I was not deaf. Bless her she told my mother I had 'selective hearing'. ...she is probably quite correct.

I was quite shocked when presented my prescription from spec savers in a digital format (took a picture of prescription in case I lose the paper one) and it was rejected saying it is required by law to show the original prescription. Seriously, in this age we still need paper? What about saving trees etc? Just kidding about trees. It is easier to but a gun in some countries than a pair of specs in this shop. Selection was quite small. Not coming back. Going to Omni's Spec Savers instead.

I found that bit a little funny, I'd rather have to pay if I dont order anything from them following the test (like the crowd on Talbot street do, something saver) at least with them you could order a pair and in a year's time you can ring them to get the prescription FOC and choose where to order other frames from. But anyway I am pleased with the service they gave me. I brought my own frames which was no bother at all, cost the same as if you did order the frame with them but I'm not mad about all these rectangle monomania and their choice is a little limited since it is a small shop. Got them ready 2 days later.
