From Bangladesh to Vietnam, children the world over are toiling ceaselessly in order to ensure that Penneys' customers are turned out in the latest in sweatshop chic. I'm not sure how it is ethical or even possible to buy the cotton, make the t-shirt, ship it half the way around the world, pay for overheads like rent and staff but sell the t-shirt for just €3 and still make a profit, but then hey, I'm not an economist, but if I am going on holidays I'll definitely swing by and stock up. For years exclusively the preserve of old ladies, Primark's clothing has lately developed a bit of following amongst fashionistas, because it is (a)cheap and (b)looks like it could almost possibly be from Topshop or H&M. In so far as I'm aware of, the Penneys on O'Connell St is the only one in the city centre, and as such is usually jammers. Whenever I do go to Penneys, I try to get out of there in 20 minutes or under, as any longer than that I would succumb to the invariable heat that such a large scrum of people generates. Particularly good if you want to buy shorts (I'm wearing a pair right now).

Do they have a website? Asking from Florida, USA. I've shopped there while vacationing in Ireland. Thank you!

I would describe it like the Bloomingdales or Saks 5th Avenue or Ireland. There's not a lot of options for individual luxury stores in the city so this place is a one-stop shop. Selections might be more limited because each store is smaller, but rest assured they have all the popular items. Tax-Free Shopping: For tourists (non-EU/GB residents), the tax-free shopping option is a huge plus. When you purchase your item, let them know you're interested in doing the tax-free rebate. You should bring your passport but the person who helped me said a photo was fine. They'll print out a receipt for you to submit to Planet at the airport. The minimum purchase is 75 euros to qualify. If the purchase amount of your goods is below 2,000 euros, you don't need to get a customs stamp at the airport. Just return your completed form at Planet desk after security or deposit it in the Planet drop box and they'll do it on your behalf. Considering the VAT is 23%, this is a great value for all you visiting shoppers. Don't forget to stop by this place and check it out before you leave town!

We visited this department store a few days over the course of our trip. I wasn't sure at first what I was planning to buy but I kept eyeing one of the Louis Vuitton perfumes that I had previously discovered on a trip to Maui. Their perfumes are definitely on the pricey side but the nice thing is they're small enough for carry on liquid limits, they have a magnetic lid, and they're refillable - and the refills are also cheaper than the initial bottle purchase. The amount of times I sprayed that perfume on myself over my Maui and Dublin trips, I was sold - so that was my first add to cart moment. Next, was a belt. I thought I wanted a Gucci Marmot belt but my cousin convinced me to check out the Celine department - instead I went with a Triomphe belt. It's such a classic and timeless design so it was the right choice. And finally - the ultimate big purchase was in the Chanel department. For a long time I have been eyeing the goatskin grosgrain cap toe slingback heels. I have tried them on in NYC before but hadn't gone through with a purchase - until this trip; it was finally time! Also to add, every single sales person that we interacted with was incredibly nice. Elsewhere, designer stores don't always have the best customer service; however, I felt nothing but kindness when I was mulling over my big purchases - which to me were really big. And they were kind enough to combine them into one receipt so I could get the best VAT refund as well so extra thanks to each of the sales persons who helped me. The VAT refund process was super easy too - I just dropped off the completed form with receipt information at the airport and after a few weeks received the credit on my cad.

Ruth was really helpful and set the items we selected aside as we shopped to our hands free. They have change rooms for you to try clothing as needed and an attendant to help you find sizes. What was really unique and cool to see was the Irish gold jewelry pieces and to learn the history about the particular source of the gold. They sell quality products from local and Irish companies. I really enjoyed finding true Irish based products. Thank you ladies!! I was in Dublin for just 7 days and I came back to this shop twice! 10 out of 10 highly recommend!

We were told by a retail worker who looked ashamed, that they did not have lifts. Only stairs. l then looked at the stairs and it looked like Mount Everest to me. My disability is 90% invisible however I know my limits and I had my wheelchair with me that day. The lovely retail worker offered us free tea or coffee for us to go. However at this point I felt dejected. All I wanted to do was get something to eat with my father. To whoever owns this store an/or the building; DO BETTER! How would you feel if you couldn't see half the shop? Grab a bite to eat and a drink? How would you feel if that was your child? We are only a few days away from 2026 and to see this type of discrimination against disabled people is shocking. I am n mincing my words. It was pure discrimination. Pure and simple.
