You really can find everything and anything here!!

I mean, it does what it says on the tin, right? Best place in town for leather I reckon - leather bags, purses, shoes, a lot that are actually really good quality, but surprisingly cheap. I'd say it's also a good place if you're looking for sports clothes, or branded more expensive items, rather than fashion-y wardrobe add-ons. BUT it's only gonna be of any use to you if you're a fan of rooting through loads of rails of s#$*e, prepared for serious elbows in the ribs, tripping over buggies, and you get off on the feeling of being generally harassed while you're shopping. It may be worth it, but be warned, you shall work for your haul!

TK Maxx, which is the European version of TJ Maxx (the letter difference gave me a bit of a chuckle. Why'd they do that!?) and it is even better than at home. That is because this TK Maxx is not only stuffed to the gills with cheap-as-dirt clothes, they also have a fantastic array of designer duds from the likes of Chloe, Alexander McQueen and Calvin Klein. The one major problem with places like these is the way the clothes are treated. Everything is jammed this way and that, lots of stuff has holes in it because of the mistreatment, and plenty of apparel is slung on top of racks or strewn about the floor. And the worst thing is how you become a part of the problem as soon as you start rummaging. There was a dress lying on the floor and I actually kicked it out of the way! I had no idea what came over me, and I quickly looked around to see if anyone saw me. Not that anyone would care, they were all too busy rummaging and kicking shit out of their own ways. :o( But I digress. They also have a shoe section that is decent but nothing spectacular. There are probably some diamonds in the rough, but I find that it's easier to jazz up a cheap top or skirt than it is to do so to cheap and ugly shoes. The house wares section is awesome though! They have some really nice pots and pans for rock bottom prices as well as home décor items, tools, toys and more.

This chain of stores is owned by TKX. In the United States, the same store is called TJ Maxx. A great place to buy discounted designer clothing.

You know a fad is over when it's discounted at TK Maxx... but that *can* be a good thing. I'm here at least once a month to trawl the bedding area for a hidden 1k threadcount set marked down. This time around I had a paw over the jeans rack and found a pair of trousers that gave me a shiver of delight. Ed Hardy Ladies - marked down. Ah, at last - see ya, Christian Audigier! Other than that minor victory, I've always loved the racks and stacks in TK Maxx -it brings me back to younger bargain hunting days while carrying an excellent selection of name brands that are more hit than miss. Now if only they carried better shoes for women with size 7 feet...

I love TK Maxx, you can get some amazing clothes for a pittance. Equally, you can wind up with some genuinely criminal stuff. But if that happens it really is your own fault, because there's no staff members pressuring you for a sell. Or even giving you a hand for that matter. My only real gripe is with the shoe section. Although there is a wide selection of ridiculously colorful footwear, nothing, and I mean nothing, seems to fit me. Not cool, not cool at all.

Lots of different stuffs in there. From bags to clothes, home to food. You can get to everything at once. Not my type of clothing though.

Michael Barrie Menswear - May 1997 trip to Dublin, struck by this handsome store front had to snap a pic. Sad to see it was painted.

The best menswear store in Dublin I have bought from! Full of very stylish clothes and very good…read morefor anyone looking to get suited for weddings or special occasions. A nice cherry on top is that the staff are extremely friendly and most importantly helpful!

It had been far, far, far too long since I bought some decent rags and so I took the morning off…read moreand, against my will, dragged my sorry baggie jeaned, worn jumpered, and ripped jacketed ass to Michael Barries. To say I have grown to hate buying clothes is an understatement. The sales staff I encounter are generally those over eager 12 year old boy type wannabe hipsters wearing gimpy little cardigans, achingly tight jeans, slip ons, and throwback t-shirts from bands they don't remember. This irritates me profoundly. Michael Barries is the antithesis to this. As I walked in I was greeted by a normal human being who asked what I was after, gave me a few suggestions, pointed me in the right direction and then simply left me be to browse. The selection ranges from casual pub wear to suits, jackets, and ties. Everything I saw was geared firmly towards understated, old school men's style. If you're after the metro look this probably isn't for you. After a few minutes my amateur shopper status must have been evident as he wandered over and made a few suggestions based on my measurements and what I was looking for. Much to my satisfaction they all fitted perfectly. Happy days. In addition to what I was buying I also had my eye on a jacket, which was admittedly a little more expensive than I would normally be comfortable with. I tried it on and as I was buying quite a bit, normal human being sales dude said he'd knock €200 off it. I gave him a lower cash price for the lot, he agreed and the deal was done. If like me you are a person who will shop for quite a bit once or twice a year, who likes classic men's style, and who doesn't want clothes which make an ironic statement or highlight your borrowed nostalgia for 80s synth pop, then this is the place for you. I can now happily say I like shopping, albeit infrequently.

Great concept store in a cool area of town…read more Yeah, the concept may confuse some Dubliners at first as there's nothing else similar to it in the city...is it a café? Is it a boutique? It's both - and it works pretty well. I'm no fashion guru, but my other (more fashion-savvy) half came in and was impressed by the clothes & jewelry on display - all unique pieces I think. I do love my coffee, and I can certainly say that the lads at Tamp & Stitch do it damn well. They use coffee beans from the brilliant Hasbean (who supply other quality coffee joints such as 3fe, Bro Hubbard, Cup, Fallon & Byrne, etc) - at the moment they're using beans from Brazil which are delicious, but I think they'll rotate depending on what's tasting good & what's fresh. The set-up reminds me of proper Italian espresso bars - it's not a place to go and lounge about in for hours, but rather it's a real high-quality coffee experience (at a price that's actually cheaper than other [lesser] cafés nearby) So, although there's plenty of competition in the area, I see no reason why this place can't be a great success - well worth stopping by to give it a go.

Still loving the coffee, but have also bought a couple of presents here too…read more Would definitely recommend looking here for quirky jewelry. Where else could you find a ring with a little oragami style crane on top?! :) Also in true small boutique fashion they use Sum-up to take credit card payments through their smartphones. It pleased me to actually see Sum-up in action.
