Most if these nice bits of attire have come from Lynches and include my newest acquisitions, two exceptionally nice cravats which were on sale - down from 65 \euro to about 30. joy. the big thing to note, even with the ties is that the quality is far superior to anything bought in places like tie rack - tremendous. Lynches is a bit old-school and honestly that's not a bad thing, the service is great, the prices not excessive and the quality of the clothes always good. what more does a guy need?

Very nice staff, who appreciate return custom. Highly recommended.

"Hey dude. We've some great new check shirts, man, and some amazing Talked Heads t-shirts, I love them." "Get the fucking boat with your check shirts. And it's TalkING Heads, man." Cue Kennedy & McSharry. They have everything you could need in terms of classically cut suits, dress shirts, casual jackets, raincoats, knitwear, hats, scarves, and gloves. It is relatively expensive, but all of the highest of quality and made to last. Well? Well. What are you after? Ah, I need a couple of suits, some jumpers and a coat. No bother, we've loads that will suit you. Cool, nothing ridiculous though. I like classic cuts. No problem, try these. Perfect. They're all great. You'll take them? I will. And the coat? Yep. Great. These are all half off at the moment and we'll do the alterations for nothing. Good man, see you Friday. Ahhhhhh.... Another years shopping done. In twenty minutes. Kennedy and McSharry is a gem.

I found exactly the tweed hat I had been searching in every store we passed. They have a marvelous stock of beautiful clothing. It had been far, far, far too long since I bought some decent rags and so I took the morning off…read moreand, against my will, dragged my sorry baggie jeaned, worn jumpered, and ripped jacketed ass to Michael Barries. To say I have grown to hate buying clothes is an understatement. The sales staff I encounter are generally those over eager 12 year old boy type wannabe hipsters wearing gimpy little cardigans, achingly tight jeans, slip ons, and throwback t-shirts from bands they don't remember. This irritates me profoundly. Michael Barries is the antithesis to this. As I walked in I was greeted by a normal human being who asked what I was after, gave me a few suggestions, pointed me in the right direction and then simply left me be to browse. The selection ranges from casual pub wear to suits, jackets, and ties. Everything I saw was geared firmly towards understated, old school men's style. If you're after the metro look this probably isn't for you. After a few minutes my amateur shopper status must have been evident as he wandered over and made a few suggestions based on my measurements and what I was looking for. Much to my satisfaction they all fitted perfectly. Happy days. In addition to what I was buying I also had my eye on a jacket, which was admittedly a little more expensive than I would normally be comfortable with. I tried it on and as I was buying quite a bit, normal human being sales dude said he'd knock €200 off it. I gave him a lower cash price for the lot, he agreed and the deal was done. If like me you are a person who will shop for quite a bit once or twice a year, who likes classic men's style, and who doesn't want clothes which make an ironic statement or highlight your borrowed nostalgia for 80s synth pop, then this is the place for you. I can now happily say I like shopping, albeit infrequently.

Definitely worth a look…read more This is a trendy guys clothes store that has a small filter coffee bar inside. The coffee and tea is from Clement and Pekoe. Oms. They clothes are nice but pricey. They had run out of cups when we stopped in for coffee, but it just meant that we got to have a nice chat with the owner while a staff member had run up to Clement and Pekoe to get more cups. There is a small selection of clothing items and accessories on the ground floor along with the coffee bar and then upstairs there is a larger selection of clothes. My 3 star rating is mostly based on the fact that I amn't the biggest fan of filter coffee, and also that I thought the clothes were slightly overpriced. However, the staff were super lovely, and the I loved the rugged, slightly warehousey feel of the shop.

I was expecting some lovely vintage inspired frocks. What I found was a store I would call goth girl heaven. There were lots of corsets, short skirts with crinoline that peaked out the bottom, striped thigh-high socks, plaid pants with attached straps, bells and whistles, and even velvet bell-sleeved atrocities that looked exactly like the way I pictured adult witches wearing when I was 12. Yes, amongst all this was a healthy selection of retro-inspired dresses. They were much more 40's inspired than 50s or 60s, with the main thrust being the nu-pin-up look. I will say that I LOVE the pin-up culture and style of dress, and this would be a great place for modern day Betties to come find their wardrobes. But overall I felt the shop was just way too costumey and not wearable enough for the average gal.
Tamp & Stitch
Great concept store in a cool area of town…read more Yeah, the concept may confuse some Dubliners at first as there's nothing else similar to it in the city...is it a café? Is it a boutique? It's both - and it works pretty well. I'm no fashion guru, but my other (more fashion-savvy) half came in and was impressed by the clothes & jewelry on display - all unique pieces I think. I do love my coffee, and I can certainly say that the lads at Tamp & Stitch do it damn well. They use coffee beans from the brilliant Hasbean (who supply other quality coffee joints such as 3fe, Bro Hubbard, Cup, Fallon & Byrne, etc) - at the moment they're using beans from Brazil which are delicious, but I think they'll rotate depending on what's tasting good & what's fresh. The set-up reminds me of proper Italian espresso bars - it's not a place to go and lounge about in for hours, but rather it's a real high-quality coffee experience (at a price that's actually cheaper than other [lesser] cafés nearby) So, although there's plenty of competition in the area, I see no reason why this place can't be a great success - well worth stopping by to give it a go.
