Long story short, we drove 3 hours from Dallas to Austin to peruse the Moscot store last weekend…read more The frame selection is fantastic with unique and chic options, price point is mid range luxury, and customer service was disappointing for such a cool optical shop. We were greeted when we walked in and it looked like most of the staff were busy with other customers, but eventually it cleared up. Ultimately, we were trying on frames on our own for a good 30-45 minutes and no one offered to assist us. My husband finally let a staff member know that his wife would like assistance and she asked "Does she have questions or something?" and he said that I was interested in purchasing glasses, so I have a lot of questions! She helped us at that point and was very knowledgeable about all aspects of the process and various frames.

Their quality of frames and aesthetic have always resonated with me and if I could, I would definitely have every single frame possible. I think with this being on S. Congress, service can be super amazing or average but I haven't felt unwelcomed and the team is always willing to help me one way or another. If you have some time I definitely recommend coming here. You'll notice their airstream trailer but pay attention as they have curated boutique hours.

For the first time in my life, I had the option of choosing thinner, lighter frames. Rachele Ray helped me pick the thinnest frame available -- a Lindberg, with an extremely delicate titanium wire just 1.07 mm thick. It was handmade, allowing for custom measurements and a precise fit at the nose bridge. When the glasses arrived, though, the thin wire frame was dramatically out of shape for my East Asian face profile. Because the frame is rimless, super thin, yet super strong, it's difficult for any optician to make major adjustments to it. And since my lenses are progressive, even a drop of a few millimeters throws off my focus. After the first fitting, I couldn't read more than two lines before the glasses slid down my nose and I lost focus entirely. I made a special appointment with Rachele, an ABOC-certified optician and manager, who saw me that same day. It took her four or five rounds of adjustment to get the fit exactly right -- but the result was remarkable. The glasses now fit my face as if they'd grown on it. For the first time in decades of wearing glasses, I don't have to keep pushing them back up my nose. I can see far and read close, comfortably and consistently. Rachele told me she has particular sympathy for people with high prescriptions like mine. But what I witnessed firsthand was her exceptional level of skill and expertise. Thank you, Rachele -- I'd highly recommend her to anyone with special fitting needs.

However, they do have some very nice up to date equipment. The glasses section has a so-so selection, but it's at a fair price especially compared to some of the premium eyewear places I've been to. I know some folks seem to have had a good experience with this business but I absolutely have not…read more First, I have been going there since it was Stars in Your Eyes, the optometrist that I used to see left (this was all around the Covid time) and then they got bought out by My Eye Dr and I have yet to get a correct pair of glasses from them. It's always been one thing or another and I have sunk so much money into glasses here and only came away with a passable pair out of 4 tries. I've been working on getting the right Rx since fall 2021. It was never about money, they just can't get it right! I spent a s-ton of money there on 4 pair! They still have the one last pair that had to be redone because the lens kept falling out on one side and it's been a full month since I dropped them off to be repaired. I finally went to another place, got a new prescription (which was a little different & better btw!) and waited their usual 2 weeks and got my new glasses which I can see much better out of. I had a great experience with the optometrist and optician there and will never go back to My Eye Dr again other than to pick up my passable glasses that have been stuck there for a month. They can be back ups I guess since the script isn't right. I'm curious if it's their lab or what? Anyway, you may have an easy prescription and it goes well for you but I'm done with them. Glasses are too expensive to not be able to see a perfectly as possible. My new ones are spot on. I now have 5 pair 4 of which I will never wear unless I lose or break these good new ones.

A year later I needed new sunglasses (using my "old" prescription: no problem) and found a very cool new frame from their modest but well-curated collection. I ordered brown lenses: big mistake. They changed them out to gray ones no charge, and replaced the frame--also no charge--because it had a tiny manufacturing flaw. MyEyeDr might be a chain (I went to Stars in Their Eyes for years), but at the Rosedale branch at least, MyEyeDr provided personal and professional treatment at competitive prices.
