Summary: Tried to get a price adjustment for a small item that was not given to me at the correct Black Friday price at another location because I needed the item with me and I only had the receipt. Makes absolutely 0 sense.
I have had several issues with different Sunglass Hut's. I went in on Sunday, but I forgot my wallet. They do not accept ApplePay. I went in on Monday during my work lunch for that price adjustment and to purchase a case for my sunglasses. It was the last day for Black Friday prices. Eric (the manager) told me to come back with my receipt later that day, which was what I was trying to avoid doing. He knew it was the second time in two days I had gone, and he never apologized for the inconvenience or found a way to process a simple price adjustment. I had spent more money in gas than my savings. I ended up going to Lakeline Mall that same night since it was closer to my house. They told me I could not return the item. I was so upset with the poor customer service at both stores, I returned my new, expensive sunglasses and all the care items I purchased to this store. I will, however, say that Steven (the store associate) was very kind, patient, and quick to return my items. He even apologized for the terrible customer service I received in my 3 visits at 2 different stores in the Austin area. I have yet to receive an apology from any manager for their terrible and unprofessional customer service that seemed made-up and conflicting. When you purchase at Sunglass Hut, you are purchasing expensive, quality items, which should come with a certain level of customer service. You should be able to go to any of the stores and receive the same information because the policies at all stores should be the same. They put on their legal hat and interpreted their version of what store policy was/meant.
Takeways:
1) start accepting mobile payments. It's about to be 2019. Get with it.
2) your store price match policy needs to change. There is absolutely no reason you need to see the item. If any store provided the incorrect price, any other store should be able to resolve the issue. You work in support of each other, and in summary, work for the customer. read more
