Same experience as everyone else on here, my husband bought a pair of sunglasses 11 days ago. I dropped them onto a table (distance of maybe 10 inches?) and they cracked and the lens popped out. They are a brand new type of ray bands (liteforce). They offered the new ones at 50% off. I asked why when it's a defective product and 11 days that's the best they can do? Had these been purchased at Nordstrom, these would have been returned and replaced for free. Next time I buy sunglasses, we are not buying here. Go out the door and around the corner and go buy the sunglasses for the same price at Nordstrom. The return policy is a million times better. And so is what happens when they sell an inferior product. read more

This little store has a big selection for the size. The staff is friendly and very helpful suggesting different glasses. The staff also has a great knowledge about their product ie. which ones are polarized, what is the advantage of one color lense verses another, which ones are hard to break etc. Their glasses are pricey, but they are quality sunglasses and the service you receive is worth the price. This store is found on the second floor of the Bellevue Square mall, also in the mall you can find an offshot of sunglass hut not sure how their glasses vary we found our pair of sunglasses in the first one so didn't look in the second. read more

Please note, this review is specifically for Sunglass Hut Bellevue. Where to begin? I purchased some sunglasses on a Sunday and came back in on a Thursday to return the sunglasses I changed my mind on. Keep in mind, I'm coming back into the store...4 days after purchasing these glasses, not trying to return them a year later. Anyways I go in and try on a few pairs thinking maybe I'll exchange the pair I got for a different pair. I found one I liked, brought the glasses to the register and the sales associate grabbed them and proceeded to wipe them for 10 minutes, I kid you not. I stood there in awe, wondering hmm I've never even worn these glasses so not really sure why she is cleaning them for so long, they sure as hell aren't dirty. She asks me why I'm returning the glasses, I told her I changed my mind on them. She didn't seem to believe me as she proceeded to clean. After 10 minutes of wiping, she tells me they're damaged and she can't return them. I literally laughed out loud. How could they be damaged when I literally never even worn them. She told me I should have checked them before purchasing them and that they don't sell damaged items. Well...seeing as how these are display glasses and you couldn't find me a new pair from the back, pretty sure they weren't in mint condition when you sold them to me. She was basically trying to find something wrong with them so she could save the sale. I honestly couldn't even see the so called damage. WARNING FUTURE SUNGLASS HUT SHOPPERS, be sure to bring a microscope with you when shopping here to ensure you have the proper equipment to thoroughly check the glasses before you agree to purchase. Ignore the return policy on the back of the receipt because as the receipt reads "easy returns" is a COMPLETE LIE. Especially when you're working with sales associate Dana. She's the best at denying returns. The best part was the girl told me she would return the glasses for me at 50% off....that's the best offer she could make. Again...laughed out loud. I paid $500 for these glasses I don't really like and never even worn out..who in their right mind would accept 50% back. Comical. One last thing I found comical. This girl told me she would get fired if she returned damaged sunglasses (mind you, there was nothing wrong with these unworn glasses - ugh!) Well Sunglass Hut, if that's how you threaten your employees to provide horrible service, congratulations, it worked! Horrible service with an even more horrible sales associate. Fantastic Staff Makes the Store I actually purchased my sunglasses at Nordstrom's. An hour later I walk into Sunglass Hut to see their selection. The selection was better, actually, but it was the store manager Dante who really left a positive impression on me. Dante took the glasses I just purchased at a competitor, and heated/formed them to fit my head. Nordstrom's didn't do this, but I wasn't expecting it so I wasn't disappointed. That was ten months ago. I returned this last weekend and Dante again gladly took my sunglasses purchased at Nordstrom's and re-fitted them for me. He does it with a smile on his face, every time. This spring when I need a new set of sunglasses, I'm going to Sunglass Hut, no questions asked. The service alone makes the trip worth it. read more

Alex (store manager), told me based upon a micro scratch that I was not able to return based my Rayban Chromance sunglasses. She implied that I was trying pull a slick one on them despite the salesperson selling me those sunglasses AND the receipt explicitly states the "Easy Return Policy". The sunglasses were in every possible facet in resellable condition. If Sunglasses hut does not honor their "Perfect Pair Promise" for this pair of sunnies , they might as acknowledge that their return policy I.e. "you'll just need proof of purchase and original packaging" is a marketing ploy to bait and switch clients knowingly. There is no condition stating that a perceived micro tear would suffice as reason to reject their "promise". read more

Point of clarity: this isn't a beef about the employees or even this store in particular. Spend $300 on a pair of glasses and the arm breaks 6 weeks later from apparently phantom activity. Didn't sit on them, drop them etc. Store simply can't do anything as they don't have skills or tools. The 50% discount on a new pair it. Based on markup, that still makes them a pretty penny at 50%. Pretty good business model :-). I'm happy to pay for repairs, but not even an offer to handle the transaction for me. Just offered me a phone number. Why pay the premium for zero support and service? From my experience there's simply no value add to buy glasses from Sunglass Hut. They don't do anything for you other than provide a mirror and some options to look at. Cheaper online and easier to work directly with manufacturer, as most have free shipping and easier return policy. read more

Thanks for the new shades. They let you try on as many as you want and they polish up nice and shinny for you. They are knowledgeable about which shapes would compliment your face. These aren't the flimsy $5 pair that you wear once and then are searching for the screw that fell out and now they are only secured on one side . These aren't the pair that pinch the bridge of your nose during the day until you have a headache. These are not the type of sunglasses that you don't care if someone accidentally sits on them because you left them in the front seat and they snapped them into two. No these are the one you will drive back over 100 miles to retrieve if you left them at a restaurant. I went to Sunglass Hut inside of the Vancouver, Washington mall and had the worst experience I have ever had in that store. I bought a pair of Versace sunglasses and the emblem on the glasses recently fell off, I went to the store to return the glasses and the manager said she can't return the glasses because it's been over 30 days but could do a defect exchange. She was being really rude the whole time and talking over me the entire time, I asked if she could stop talking over me and stop being so unprofessional, I couldn't believe she was treating me like this. She told me to leave the store and that she's been a manager there for 12 years so she could do what she wanted, I told her I wanted to do the defect exchange and she refused, I could not believe the way I was being treated for no reason at all. She told me if I didn't leave she was calling security, I honestly felt like this woman had a mental or personality disorder because she turned on me so quickly and treated me so awful for zero reason at all. I LOVE the sunglass hut and have always had a stellar experience, but I will NEVER step foot in that store in fear of that lady, I'm so disappointed with the treatment there, I left so shaken up I forgot my coffee at the desk. This review is for the staff, not the actual store. Our dog destroyed my boyfriend's sunglasses right before we were headed on vacation so we hit the malls in the area in search of a new pair. For whatever reason we couldn't find the exact pair online at any of the department stores. We decided to check Sunglass Hut as a last resort and we were convinced we found them, yet turns out the were the wrong shade (this review is making these sunglasses seem more unique than they are, but they're just regular Ray Ban Wayfarers!). The sales associate immediately offered to order them online and ship them to us in 2 days (didn't know they offered this!), yet that would've been after we left for our vacation. We nearly gave up, when she offered to call the Sunglass Hut in Macy's (didn't know this existed either!) and so we got lucky, went down and purchased the pair. It's so simple when you work a retail job to do the bare minimum, I was very impressed by her perseverance to help us even when we had almost given up! Great job! read more

Absolute WORST customer service experience with an incredibly rude assistant manager and manager. We bought $500 worth of sunglasses as Christmas gifts in a California store, did not wear the glasses and kept them in the cases. When the recipient didn't like the style, we went to go return one of the pairs and keep the other. Upon the return, the assistant manager said she found a "deep scratch" - she had an incredibly condescending tone and had US clean the glasses as proof that she or her associate didn't scratch the glasses, a very rude thing to do, proceeding to make us clean it multiple times as it was still smudged. The manager finally came out from her lunch break and made it sound like she was doing us a huge favor for a very basic customer service transaction. She said they had no proof that we hadn't scratched it-true but also ridiculous: especially since customers get sold the pair of glasses that's on display and tried on by tons of other people, we also have no proof that we didn't get sold a defective pair of glasses by sunglasses hut, especially since we had kept them in the cases and not even worn them. In any other store or incident, if you buy a shirt or pair of shoes and find a defect and want to go to return it, the store ALWAYS takes responsibility for the defect (maybe it was sold like that, maybe it was returned and not inspected carefully enough, maybe you just produced a crappy product) and allows the customer to make the return. Even if this specific store didn't sell us the pair, they're still all under the Sunglass Hut brand and we expect to the same service and quality at ALL of their stores- instead, the managers had the attitude akin to just throwing up their hands and acting like they couldn't do anything about it because they "had no proof we didn't damage it and didn't know what the California store did". As someone who has worked service jobs before and had to do my time dealing with customers as well, I know that is NOT how you treat your customers (especially people who just spent hundreds of dollars on your store) and have never before been treated in such a rude manner by the two managers who were not at all concerned about our satisfaction with their products. We ended up returning both pairs because we were so appalled at the experience and will NEVER be making another purchase at Sunglass Hut again. read more

I bought a pair of expensive sunglasses as a Christmas present for my daughter and she thought the frame was too big for her face, so right after Christmas I took to Sunglass Hut at Bellevue Square location to return it. The two young women on the counter took the sunglasses out from the original packing and told me in less than 10 seconds that it was unreturnable because it had a scratch. First of all, I didn't see any scratch, second, the sunglasses was in the box the whole time until Christmas when my daughter opened and tried it on in the mirror. The way they said it they made it sound like it was our fault. Immediately I thought that was their scheme to reject a return. I told them Sunglasses Hut in another location sold me the display pair because when I asked for a new pair they said it was the only pair. If there was really a scratch on it, then the store sold me a defective product, of course I had every right to return it. The women insisted they couldn't resell it thus it was non-returnable. I was so mad that I asked for the manager. One woman went in the little room right behind the counter, came out saying she was in lunch break. I asked for how long, she said 30 min. Ok, I told them I won't leave until I got my refund. I was 100% sure the manager heard every bit of our loud heated exchange and decided to stay put to keep me waiting. When finally it was time she came out saying she was in the room busy calling her boss for this return.... blah,blah,blah. Bullshit! I had every right to make the return: it was in original condition and packaging with proof of purchase within the return timeframe, yet she needed to call her boss for 30 minutes for a reasonable refund ??? At the end, I got my refund, but it was the worst experience ever. Sunglasses Hut, train your staff, your name is ruined because of this customer service!!! read more

My coworker and I visited this store because my $200 sunglasses (from Sunglass Hut) broke while on vacation. The screw came out so the entire lens fell out. We managed to find a repair kit while on vacation and fix it one time. The same thing happened on the last day of the vacation and I nearly stepped on the lens when it dropped in a parking lot, but fortunately it didn't break or scratch. There were two young women working in the store. The first immediately told me that I could purchase a new pair for 50% off. I told her I'd first like to get them fixed vs. buying a new pair. The other staff person found a replacement screw and fixed them. I asked if this happened often. The staff person said that she'd recently seen about four other pairs of them come in for the same issue "if that tells me anything." I asked if they had a repair kit I could buy. She said they didn't and that I could find one at a drugstore. She said I could come in anytime to get them fixed. For about ten minutes, my coworker was looking around at glasses with absolutely no one helping her. She was asking me how they looked and at one point had to squeeze past a cart one of the staff was using, but still no help. We saw a monitor with a self-help program to pick glasses, but that wasn't working. I'm giving only two stores for the poor (nonexistent) customer service for my coworker and the less than enthusiastic service that I received. I got my glasses fixed, but it was apparent that neither of the staff wanted to be there. read more
