A dental filling should last for years under normal circumstances, not just a few months. What made this situation even more upsetting was being told that before anything could be done, I would have to pay for another exam, new X-rays, and pay again to replace the filling that had failed. I understand that offices have policies, but expecting a patient to pay all over again for work that failed in less than a year is unreasonable. I am now left with a large hole in my tooth, significant pain and sensitivity, and the stress of finding another dentist to correct the problem. I expected this office to stand behind the quality of its work, but instead I felt like I was being charged twice for the same issue. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this practice. I will also be filing a complaint with the appropriate licensing and regulatory agencies so my concerns can be reviewed.
