When I brought the side effects to their attention they said I was the problem. They did not even warn me about the side effects or provide an option for something more gentle. I was shown what possible complications could potentially occur during surgery and what those options would be (just in case) before commitments were made. Everything went well and the contingencies were not needed. I did not have covering insurance, but the costs were not any more than my in-network insurance dentists had quoted. The latter may also be a reflection upon unscrupulous in-network dentists (name withheld) refusing to grant treatments without agreeing to unnecessary procedures, it is worth noting that I didn't have any unneeded options being pressed with this dentist, and I appreciate that honesty and professionalism. For the dentist and staff, thank you. There were no problems requiring follow-up!

I was told that the office did not take my insurance but they would file the claim on my behalf. I understood that I would be required to pay for the services upfront which I did. The amount changed from what I had been quoted but did not argue with this. After 6 weeks I had not received reimbursement from my insurance so I called and was told that the payment was made to the dentist. I then called Beachside Oral Surgery and was told that it takes a while for them to reconcile their payments. It is now December 22nd and I have not received any payment. My appointment was during the first week of September. I have called and left messages but no one from this office has returned my calls. They received payment by me and insurance which is crazy. My only recourse now is to file suit against the dentist. I do not recommend this practice.

That can be a pretty big risk for a doctor or dentist's office, as my insurance sent me the check that they should have sent to the dentist's office and I'm sure some people keep those checks. My dentist anxiety is off the charts and they are very accommodating and sweet. Dr Burnes is efficient, kind, patient, and tells you everything he's doing so there's no surprises. I was told that it all has to match my ID. I can prove that it doesn't, because my current name on file isn't what's on my ID. The X-ray tech was friendly, the hygienist was fine. The dentist was rude and clearly did not believe that my crown had come off just a couple days ago. This is a crown that had been made and placed by this office, and it just popped off while eating, so who knows how long it had been loose and just stuck between the neighboring teeth. When I called to make an appointment, I told the woman on the phone that I don't have dental insurance. She said they could make the initial X-rays and exam free, and it would be $149 to repair my crown and put it back on. When I got to the billing desk, the initial things were free, but the rest was totally different. That's where I was told that I also have two cavities, and all of the "necessary" work would be over $4000 - about $2000 of that is for a new crown.

I was put on hold for so long that I was sure she had gotten busy and forgot me. I waited several hours then called back and got Jordan. I was again put on hold for a lengthy period of time when she came back, she said she had to talk to Dr. max and see what he wanted to do. She said she would call me back. She never did. I started calling this morning and was again put on hold n by a message machine. I called back this afternoon and was told - by perhaps Sherry - she did not identify herself - that I had an appointment at 2:00 today. It was already nearly 3:00. Then she changed and said, no it is 2:00 tomorrow. NOONE and I do stress this - no one had called me or left me any messages - as I kept checking. Because I had not heard anything from the office , I went ahead and made plans to have lunch with my son - who lived out of town - and was not willing to cancel that. The next thing was I was told was that she was going to have me talk to the office manager. I aske her her name and the name of the person I first spoke to, I was told she would give me that information but "first we had to(paraphrasing) sort out the appointment" - I said I was not aware of having an appointment and proceeded to tell the office manager what had transpired. She told me that she "didn't want to know every little thing" and that point I raised my voice because as I said to her - these are not "little things to me." This person who after me asking again, identified herself as Shannon. I WAS AND STILL AM, UPSET. This has been an ordeal for me and now this hassle of trying to get through to someone there and to get an appointment - to find that I was scheduled an hour ago and no one called me. Shannon said they had tried to call me many times, I find that difficult to believe - but I did check all messages and see no evidence of that. No missed calls - no messages - not on the land line or on my cell. I have read several other reviews regarding the front desk at this office and Shannon is referred to by name - as having an attiude - and saying she is the boss, not caring about the patients needs. I definitely agree and will be posting this everywhere I can.

Test of time proved who I believed was correct. The prices here are astronomical. The cleaning is not done with a tool but a glorified water pick. If you ask for manual cleaning that also is an additional charge. I went to this dentist back when he was on Palm Bay Rd and every filling he gave me needed to be replaced within 10 years. That's not a good dentist. Ranks ways down there with Richard Leong, who has been sued for making up stories about cavities that don't even exist. If you want to pay twice the price for routine cleanings, have fillings only last a decade, then this is the dentist for you.
