Is this company even still in business or do they just have a zombie voice mail system that pretends to take messages but doesn't really? They installed my system back in 2016 and now that it's not working (again!) I can't seem to get anyone to return voice mails or emails. Needless to say, no one ever actually picks up the phone when you call. I had initially resisted the impulse to leave a bad review because, as of the last time I had a problem, they at least made it right after much fuss, but this time they're not even pretending to care, so here goes: 1. Initial installation: While both SMUD and the City of Sacramento passed the work they did in my panel, an electrician I hired later for unrelated reasons found they'd left a dangerous rat's nest including multiple instances of "double tapping." I paid him to clean it up and, in Sunfinity's defense, they reimbursed me (I had photographic evidence). But had I not had that other work done, I'd have been left with a fire hazard. 2. Some time later I began getting faults during the hot part of the year and went quite some time without it generating. They were still returning phone calls back in those days, but I got a lot of nonsense about simply needing to power cycle the system and the like. Obviously, that was ridiculous, but someone finally did come and figure it out. 3. They promised 24/7 monitoring via the Internet, but this is either a complete and total lie, or they do indeed monitor but never actually do anything with the information they receive. They never noticed the above-mentioned fault and they never noticed when the system was unable to communicate for MONTHS (due to something *I* had done and easily fixed, once I noticed) some time later. Likewise, now that I'm having faults again, they've never attempted to contact me about them. 4. There was a different Internet communication issue very early on and they put a lot of work into trying to convince me it was due to something I was doing wrong. Uh, no. I don't know everything, but I'm a major computer nerd and knew the problem wasn't on my network. Someone finally reluctantly opened the inverter and found the real problem. 5. The system has never produced as much as they claimed it would, but I pretty much expected that due to lots of trees. Still, it would have been nice if they had not over-promised. In fact, two other companies I'd talked to first declined to install a system at all due to the shade issues. Maybe I should have just let it go at that point. 6. I bought the system outright for well over $20,000. At the time I really thought I was doing the right thing, but I regret it now. 7. Don't take my word for it, also look up this company at the BBB website. If someone from Sunfinity gets in touch with me to work this out, I will happily update this review. But, based on my experiences and the experiences of others who've posted here, I suspect that they won't. In fact, I've already begun the process of contacting another company to see if they can help me...which of course means I'll need to pay even more money to someone else to fix the problem Sunfinity doesn't care about. read more

Cannot get anyone on the phone for weeks. Phone number in Dallas is an 844 number and just goes to a voicemail that no one returns. Our sales rep isn't with the company anymore and their contact us email bounces back. Before you sign up with a company, call their phone number like you're an existing customer and see how far you get because Sunfinity is AWFUL. read more

Do you like a sloppy and incomplete installation that takes multiple days to get finished and still requires multiple returns just to get the city inspector to approve before it can be operated? Do you enjoy getting no answers to phone calls and no response to voicemails? Do you like to have your system notify you that it has issues making electricity but having your solar company totally ignore your appointment dates and not even calling to notify you that you took a vacation day for no reason? Sunfinity seems to have a high employee turnover because I never get to talk to the same person twice and each new person I have to start over from the beginning explaining the issues I have experienced. We had such a great experience with Sunfinity and would recommend this company to all our friends. We had been wanting to install solar for a year and we researched all of our options and Sunfinity had the most competitive pricing, they were the most responsive to our questions, and their inverters and panels are among the industry's best. Alicia was our consultant and she kept us updated as to our time schedule. She was always available to answer our questions... And we had a lot of questions. Wouldn't not do business with again. When selecting from solar companies you have many companies to choose from. They all offer incentives and programs to get you to sign up with them. Sunfinity won my business not because they are better than anybody else as this was my first solar system I've had installed but because they offered a little more in regards to incentives. I was made a reasonable promise by their representative of a $500 bonus to sign up and as incentive for referrals. Sunfinity failed to deliver on this promise made by the representative. I've gone back and forth with them for months now about the lack of integrity they have shown and explained to them this $500 bonus is the only reason I chose them as it put them ahead of the pack of other companies I interviewed. I was finally formally declined by sunnova the parent company of sunfinity my request for bonus. To this day the representative confirms the promise he made but as it was "not put in contract and he had no authorization to make promise" the company will not honor it. In my experience when an employee of your company makes a reasonable promise to a customer in order to get their business, the company should follow through for customer satisfaction and then deal with employee. Maybe retrain or discipline whatever they think necessary. Bottom line: sunnova/sunfinity does not stand behind their employees commitments made to customer. read more

It was a long ordeal. No updates on how we were doing in getting up and running on solar. I know we had another solar system and so it was a process with PG&E but we still had to call ourselves to find out where we were at. Finally 6 months later after the hottest summer in California we get hooked up to solar with no show of all that energy we produced over the summer for free. I am just so glad it is done. On the day of scheduled installation( Friday) , nobody from Sunfinity bothers to email, text or call me to let me know that there's a problem with the design and the crew cannot install the panels. Obviously, I have to wait until Monday afternoon to get an update on the failed scheduled installation. Now, I have to wait uncertainly for the installation date. Buyer beware. When we had our solar installed by this company we were told within 2 weeks PG&E would be by to check the installation explain how the system works and etc. Well it has been over 7 weeks and many calls and run around with the sales person and Sunfinity. PG&E says they are waiting on completed forms from installer. Installer says "Ill get those emailed to you tonite." On callback because no forms were emailed, we get""Ill ask the boss to do complete the forms tonite and email them to you and We are sooo sorry. Seems you gave us the wrong email." Wrong. All the financial paperwok was emailed and went thru. So how could our email address be wrong.?? My hubby emailed the address we supposedly gave them. It came back undeliverabe no such address. As a business wouldn't you have called the client to double check the email address????? After at least 20 calls as of June 19th 2019 we have nothing but empty promises and more BS. I will Never do business with this company. We had our solar panel installed since Aug 2019, but the electricty still is not connected as today 2/15/2020. I dont know when they are going to do the electrical panel and connect solar panel to electricity. It is very frustrate to call them because they never return your calls. The company 's office is disappering in Ca and people worked on our project are no longer working in the company. No one showed up for the scheduled electrical panel upgrade without any notice.They always blam PG&E for the problem. But I think this company is really mismanaged and can not be trust. I am planning to talk to a lawyer to see if we can ask for refund from this company and sale person. read more

I must say they were awesome through the process. I had Thomas go over my options with me and since my system was installed a few months ago I can't say enough good things about this company. First time purchaser of solar. Decided to go with Sunfinity. Everything was a disaster from day one and I should have listened to my gut and canceled the install and took more time to research other companies. First things first to sign documents and get the correct roof diagrams along with the proper amount of panels took 4 months. Warning sign 1. Sunfinity does not use their own installers, they have 3rd party contractors they use. Warning sign 2. During install on a townhome, they started installing panels on my neighbor's roof and had to patch the holes. The roof was replace 2 years prior by the association. Warning sign 3. I have exposed beams in the roof and they missed the rafters multiple time and had to reset the screws. And to this day I can still see screws inside my home that missed the rafters. Warning sign 4. I was told that all the holes have been patched, now 6 month later during our first rain, the roof is leaking in 4 places. No more warning signs it is too late. I have attempted to get someone out to fix the roof for 4 days with little to no response. Sunfinity is putting it on the 3rd party contractor to fix the issue. If he was a hack the first time around what good will he be this time. Now Every time I call they have my name and I am directed to voice mail with no call back. I will never do business with Sunfinity and looking how to have these removed and go with someone else. read more

NO STARS HUGE MISTAKE Sunfinity the worse company I've ever dealt with they installed solar at my house months ago never completed the job till this day I'm still waiting. They promised me a free Cancun and Las Vegas trip for signing up and was told someone would contact me in regards to that, that never happened. I had issues with my ac and water heater they said they would send someone out to see what was going on that never happened. They made several appointments never showed up to install new thermostats and install insulation that never happened and till this day I've send many emails and called them many times nobody has contacted me. One of there workers who is Lee the person who signed me in to this contract told me to call 3 on your side I've received 2 bills and still have no service this is the worst company to do business with do not sign anything with out having your work completed. Do not get this company. I got an email from a Stephen Missimi that he would be completing the job and have not yet to hear from him either. Would do business with Sunfinity all over again. They got approvals from all the necessary City inspectors and my CC&R board, and PG&E in a timely manner. They were professional and respectful. Installed in two days and up and running in no time. Very clean looking job . It's working beautifully . We get regular updates on usage too. Less then $15.00 a month thru the winter so far. Well worth it. I recommend them to everybody and all the people I know. read more

This company's sales tactics are obnoxious. They've flooded the neighborhoods in Vacaville with overly aggressive, rude sales people going door to door the past couple of weeks. A Sunfinity salesman came to my house last week. I watched him linger outside of my house for a while before he ran the bell. He was annoyed when I told him I wasn't interested, and was rude with the end of his sales pitch. He claimed he worked with PG&E. I had to close the door because he wouldn't listen to me and he wouldn't stop talking. He lingered outside of my house for a couple minutes after that. I called PG&E, and Sunfinity does not work for or with PG&E, they are a third party in no way affiliated. So the salesman was dishonest in his approach. And the guy was back on my street 2 days later just sitting on a curb. Everyone around town is talking about similar run ins with overly aggressive and rude salesmen from this company. They all wear bright yellow shirts with this Sunfinity logo on it. This company seems to be bringing the salespeople here by the van full and just dropping them off to harass the neighborhoods. read more
