Called for planned insulation of one room, but had them check whole house insulation bc have had certain rooms not feel insulated. From start to finish, very efficient and courteous. Good quality work. House was dramatically under insulated. After insulation my AC essentially never comes on, where prior it would run for nearly all day and still struggle to get temp cool. And the rooms that felt hotter then rest of home was now equal. I'm interested to see how winter feels but suspect will be the same regarding energy heater usage needs. Other companies told me I had to change my entire hvac system and get it re calibrated to get the other rooms equal temp; but the answer was just insulation. Massive savings. I never knew how much good insulation was actually sooo important and the massive longterm cost savings it provides. And better do it soon before it stresses your ac unit and need to replace a whole unit which costs crazy more money. Every summer my AC unit would break trying to get us cool. Sucked. With now a fully insulated home, hopefully this next summer will not break my AC. We had a brand new three-ton AC unit installed along with planned HVAC system updates, with the expectation that our airflow and temperature imbalance issues would be resolved in our 972 sq ft home. From the start, the process was confusing and did not inspire confidence. We were initially told the HVAC system would be replaced, but later informed that the space would not accommodate it as planned. The scope of work seemed unclear and ultimately was not completed as originally explained. Since installation, we have continued to experience significant temperature imbalance throughout the home. The living room becomes very cold, while the bedroom remains warm and uncomfortable--especially at night. This has been a consistent issue for the past year. Additionally, the system appears to be oversized for a home of this size. Installing a three-ton unit in a 972 sq ft space raises concerns about improper system sizing, which can lead to short cycling, poor airflow distribution, and uneven temperatures--exactly what we are experiencing. Communication has also been extremely frustrating. We have struggled to get clear answers or meaningful follow-up regarding these ongoing issues, despite raising concerns multiple times. We were recently informed that the project passed inspection, but passing inspection does not reflect real-world performance. A properly installed HVAC system should provide consistent comfort throughout the home, and that is not happening here. After a full year of unresolved issues, incomplete work, and lack of communication, we cannot recommend this company. read more

The owner Jesse has inflicted personal emotional & financial harm by promising me approx $10,000 in rebates for my HVAC systems which were installed in December 2024. These rebates were promised to be sent to me within 60 days after installation. I have still not received them and today is February 2026. This company installed my HVAC units in December 2024 (total $17,000+ ) and also promised rebates totaling $10,000 to be processed and sent to me within 60 days. I accepted a 12 months no interest loan. My plan was to put the $10,000 towards the loan and payoff the remaining balance in its entirety. I have reached out and communicated with the owner Jesse on a monthly and sometimes weekly basis to no avail. I've only received excuses as for the reasons rebates hasn't been processed. Also, I must mention I referred 2 customers to Clear Efficiency and their installs were completed in approx February and March; they BOTH have received their rebate checks. It is now February 2026 and the loan is no longer no interest a the monthly payment is astronomical and not in my financial budget. Jesse refused to respond to questions. Faulty equipment with holes. Blew attic debris in my garden, the roof, my yard & neighbors yard. Changed the structure of the HVAC system not letting me know. Installed old PVC pipes that caused water dripping & seeping into the filter which also had mold due to plugged pipe they installed. They returned, got the old pipe unplugged but refused to change it back to how it was. It was terrible to have the owner interfering in my personal loan. Stay away from this Company!!! read more

With cost of PG&E continuing to to go up, we decided to be pro active in making our home more energy efficient by adding insulation underneath the floor. Our home had no insulation underneath. I went on Yelp and clear efficiency contacted me. We made an appointment and spoke with Breyen who checked the house and measured. We decided to insulate the bottom of the floor and the garage ceiling that had no insulation.The very next day we had a quote and scheduled a day to have the work done. We decided that insulation was needed in the garage because it really get hot in the summer which possibly makes the freezer work harder. We also decided to put in a solar powered fan in the attic, I pray it keeps the house cooler. The insulation was installed by Micheal and Jose. The solar attic fan was installed by Yocnin and Venie. All the installers were friendly professional and made sure everything was left in clean and excellent condition. They did such a good job we decided to look into replacing some windows. Breyen said that the windows went above what is required and they reduced outside noise we thought we would replace some windows in the family room and master bedroom. I have to say there is a noticeable difference the windows keep the cool temperature out and it has reduced the noise from the barking dog Nextdoor. The installers were Victor and Dennis, again they were friendly professional and did an amazing job. One of the other perks is the windows are made in USA California. The windows were pricy but I guess you get what you pay for. I can sit next to the window and I am very comfortable. I researched no less than 30 companies to replace the HVAC ducting and insulation in my attic, getting more than a dozen in-person quotes, and Clear Efficiency was by far the most thorough, skilled, knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. I ultimately decided to pick them because they were very upfront and honest about everything and knew what they were talking about, they gave me a good quote (not the lowest and not the highest, but reasonable), they obviously wanted to secure the job but were never pushy, and they are local guys so they know all the ins and outs of both local and federal policies, rebates, and more. This ultimately saved me $3500 on the project in federal and local rebates (HALF the price of the project). I also really liked that during the quote process they took a video when evaluating the attic space and after coming down, they proceeded to walk me through every part of the video to ensure I knew everything they could see in their eval. (With other quotes, some guys didn't take any video, some just took pictures, some didn't show me the pictures, and one guy didn't even go up in the attic at all...) They kept me in the loop at all times and explained every last detail to me when I asked about literally every step/function/test/tool in the process. There were quite a few visits to get the job done fully because SMUD was involved for the seal and insulate rebate process, but the Clear Efficiency guys were very communicative so it was all explained and expected. I could not be any less satisfied with our experience getting solar panels installed. We were sold a false bill of goods that they'd be able to be installed by the end of 2020, so we rushed to make it happen, and the process barely started by the end of 2020. After repeated visits to our home, they still did not have an accurate map of our electrical system. (Granted, it's complicated because we live in an HOA, but it was still wrong when it was installed.) Every time they've come out, there's been something they didn't know. Half the time we didn't even know someone was coming. Almost every time our electricity has but cut off for a short period without warning, whic isn't a huge deal except with a distance learner and a teleworker, it can be problematic. Our neighbor's electricity even got accidentally turned off by them, and she was hosting a work Zoom meeting. I'm very patient and generous with mistakes , but this has been one after another. The latest is that they somehow didn't know we needed a fire inspection. That was like three weeks ago, and we still haven't heard what we need to do for that. There's very little communication. So we're now almost halfway through 2021 and we don't have functional solar panels yet. That would have been fine if we hadn't been told upfront that they could be installed in 2020. Find another company if you want to be communicated with, trust that things are going to function, and get a straight answer. My faith that the not-yet-working solar panels currently on our roof are actually going to work is basically zero. read more

We just got our new windows and insulation installed. We couldn't be happier!! We added the sound barrier to the windows because we have noisy neighbors behind us. We can't hear anything now.... not even the vehicles outside. In fact I've noticed that I'm sleeping a little better now because our house is so silent. We previously had windows that came with the house (1991) what a difference now. The insulation is amazing, they did a full review of my attic and found where Rats were entering. That's how detailed they are. They sealed every joint and crack in the attic and did special reinforced insulation that needed to be installed on vertical walls. We found this company online and contacted them and Jesse, the owner, came out and sat down with us and explained everything thing very professionally. He brought high Tech equipment including infrared equipment that would look through our ceiling and found a lot of problems as our house is old.
