My AC condensor pump went out in the middle of a head wave. Kevin and Marty were quick to respond to my house call during what is likely their busiest time of year. After doing a bit of troubleshooting, which they let me watch, Kevin came to the conclusion that it would be better to replace the system instead of dumping thousands into a system built in the early 90s. Kevin was very transparent through the entire process and were always on time. Both Kevin and Marty were great and didn't make me feel like a moron for asking them to take off their shoes when inside (they used shoe covers and a floor mat). I didn't actually have any work done by Mountain Air, but that was because I called them and Chris answered and said he was on a train so he couldn't come and look at it. What he did do was tell me how to fix the problem with my A/C blower, which capacitor was the likely suspect, and even where to buy the new one. I replaced it and $12.50 & an hour of labor later my A/C is working again! It's Not often you get a business willing to walk you through fixing the problem yourself. We had an issue with our AC unit leaking refrigerant and therefore not working or cooling the house. Never good to have your home heating unit go out in 40 degree temperatures. Called MOUNTAIN AIR to schedule service. Chris took the call and first off offered a couple of troubleshooting suggestions to determine if the issue could be resolved quickly over the phone. We have an ancient air conditioner that has problems with the air transfer unit icing up. I called Chris to come out and look it over to see if there was anything that could be done to keep it sputtering along for a year or two. He was responsive and showed up at the time he promised. After performing a host of diagnostic checks, he noted that the AC unit is nearing the end of its life, but came up with a solution that will get us through this summer. He explained each test he was doing in layman's terms so I could understand them. As part of his recommendations, he showed me how to clean the internal coils myself. It would have been easy for some other unscrupulous person to simply say that the AC unit was too old and we needed a new one, Chris instead gave me recommendations that fit my current needs and buys me a bit more time. When my AC finally bites the dust and I need help figuring out a new system, he's the only person I'll call. He'll also be the only person we'll call to work on that new system.
