Amazing seasonal farm stand! The most beautiful produce and great prices. Can't miss when in Olympia. Open Spring through early fall.

Our annual Christmas tree hunt goes not farther than Schilter Family Farm…read more The Thanksgiving week end usually slams this tree farm. However, we always find a quality Noble fir if even we have to hunt a bit. This year was REALLY unusual. The Monday after T Day we went with the idea we'd have to spend time searching. The most helpful young man pointed us to a new field of Nobles. And there, no more than 10 feet in from the path was IT (visions of Clark Griswold!). There were countless more even after that Turkey Day rush. The same man came by in his tractor and asked if he could cut it down for us. He had a chain saw. I had a hand saw. No brainer!! The service and selection are first class. Topping this off is the gift shop, where you pay, has all sorts of Christmas related things, including fresh wreaths (which we bought)

Definitely deserving of a spot in the top 10 pumpkin patches in Washington!…read more I've been going to pumpkin patches almost yearly since I was 4 so I consider myself somewhat of an expert. Here's my highs and lows and good enoughs: 5 Stars to: -Plenty of Photo setup spots -Apple cider slush sundae -FRESH & HOT Roasted Corn -Many adult AND kid friendly activities -pumpkin assortment 1 Star for: -No back up generator (Power went out while at the farm and the poor animals were huddled up closer than the people were) -flavorless burgers 2.5 stars (aka good enough) for: -cold apple cider donuts -friendly but antisocial staff -gift shop (Felt more like a very small, 'small business' fair) I think the ticket price was a decent value for what was available!

I bought the Lavender Tea Tree large size of each. They also have Lavender; bar soap, body butter, bath salts, body oil, and dog products! I know I am forgetting some, sorry! The fields go on forever and you may stroll along with you barrowed basket and scissors merrily clipping fresh Lavenders into by the tie bunches. The big event of the year is next weekend! Great parking on a field next to the farm. All the staff have been wonderful and friendly. One even went the extra mile to explain the varieties of lavender and what we need to do and how to cut the lavender. We appreciated the explanation and information. We grabbed a white basket, which had lengthy white twist ties and a scissor. You cut between the 2nd and 3rd leaves. There are numerous bees everywhere and you can hear them buzzing about but they pretty much leave you alone. It was a rather warm day and beautiful. Perfect for picking lavender. It's $5 for a bunch that you can fit within the twist tie, which is a rather large bunch. I picked two types of lavender -- an edible variety and one that s used more for its oils and is more aromatic. There is also a lavender-colored Adirondack chair in the middle of the field for photo opportunities. We ended up purchasing kettle corn with lavender, which is oddly delicious and I had a fresh squeezed lavender lemonade. I loved it! There were numerous handcrafted items to purchase from varying booths. I purchased some emu oil, some bowl pads, and a tank top. I ended up picking up a 2.5 lb large bag of lavender buds to put into satchels and place around the house. I ended up giving half of it to my next door neighbor and gave them half of the lavender I picked. The lavender I picked was also cutely wrapped in tissue with a cute tie. When I had gotten home, I made a simple syrup with the lavender and have used it in drinks and to make scones with. Overall, this was a wonderful experience that I highly recommend.

They have your pumpkin patches and apple orchard for picking. They have your classic corn maze with a hayride to take you to the entrance. They have plenty of animal friends to see and pet. And what kind of fall festivity would it be without foods, such as apple cider, corn, and brisket. The food portions were MASSIVE. I would highly recommend sharing and if you're still hungry, it's an excuse to try more food! The mac n' cheese was our favorite food, and our favorite drink had to be the cider slushy. I love hot apple cider, but their new cider slushy was so refreshing and apple-y. All the prices are reasonable too given how much food you get. For this farm, some activities are completely free if you just want to visit, such as their pumpkin patch, apple orchard, and country store. Otherwise, their weekday price is $15 and $23 on weekends (if you buy online). The caveat is that there are limited activities on weekdays depending on staff availability. I'd recommend going the weekend if you want the full experience, it's totally worth it. Swans Trails Farms is truly the perfect fall activity for everyone, and I haven't even been able to describe everything they have to offer. To find out, you'll just have to experience it yourself! :)

I tried asking the workers, but they didn't have any knowledge about it and then sent me to the front ticket booth. Let me tell you, trying to figure what was going on was a Kafkaesque nightmare. I crashed at least three other gatherings as I was being directed from one place to another. Whoops. Anyways, I finally found my group and we picked apples. I like how they had labels on each row of trees to identify the cultivar. It also turns out that they put a few crabapples in each row for pollination purposes, but they're very obviously not to be picked as the fruits are small. Apples were $3.50/lb, but slightly cheaper if you buy them pre-picked. The fresh apples taste much better than the ones in grocery stores, which can be stored for up to a year in warehouses. I was surprised to find the fresh apples were more crisp with thinner skin! I got a cider doughnut before I left, and it was so soft, tender, and pillowy! There was great apple flavor.
