Features jewelry, multimedia wall, art, and painting, prints, wood, turning, photographs, and other Pacific Northwest mediums. Selection is varied so that you can enjoy the different artists rather than for example, looking only at paintings. Value is excellent as most artists seem to undervalue the time and expertise that goes into these works. The shop is always staffed by one of the artists and each of the staff seems to know a great deal about the art of the others in this cooperative. A highlight for more sophisticated, take homes than T-shirts and hats. They are truly embodies the Pacific Northwest and appears in many homes of natives as well as those traveling through Olympia.

In addition to the art itself, there are craft events hosted by local groups/businesses/non-profits and performers such as jugglers and dancers. I participated in the 2003 Fall Arts Walk as a dancer. It was great fun! Both the Spring and Fall arts walks are very fun. Arts Walk is full of local flavor. FYI: The Spring Arts Walk tends to have more folks attending than the Fall Arts Walk. It also includes the Illuminated Procession and The Procession of the Species. This year's Spring Arts Walk takes place April 26 &27. This year's Fall Arts Walk takes place October 4 & 5.

Wow! What a discovery this place was! I didn't even have Gallery Boom on my list of bookmarks in…read moreOlympia. We just happened to park by it as we were going to explore and grab a bite to eat in downtown Olympia. I asked the cashier how long the place has been around and I was told it's been around for about two years. I'm a bit shocked that no Yelp entry has been made yet. Gallery Boom is a gallery that features over 100 local artists and virtually all of the work here is for sale. The prices on a great deal of the art pieces asked by the artists seem very reasonable. Since this gallery features so many artists the variety on what type of art there is here is quite vast. I bought several things here... a dried mushroom under glass, a purple crystal, a Christmas ornament with moss in it, a UFO rear view mirror hanging ornament and the bigger purchase a small lamp. Pictures of most of those things to follow. I was very excited to get this lamp as the artist makes all kinds of sizes of lamps that are inspired by sci-fi, UFO's, the Space Needle and other similar building structures like it. I first came across these lamps at another Olympia art gallery, Matter Art Gallery. That gallery has since gone defunct and I was very sad to no longer see these lamps but now I know a great physical location to go to for these lamps (the same artist like many of the other artist either have their own website, a point of contact or an Etsy account as well). It was great reconnecting with those artistic lamps again! The cashier said that reaching out to nearly all of the artists is easy and they are very receptive to communicating with the public. This also reflects onto the gallery itself as it doesn't come across stuffy or pretentious in the slightest. The cashier also mentioned that the art for sale can rotate out relatively quickly and that their is almost always something new to examine in a relatively short amount of time. Not only that but one pass down the aisles here just doesn't seem to do it justice. It seems like each time you walk where you already were you see something that didn't catch your eye the first time. So you can spend a lot of time here just doing that. I'm totally addicted to this place! I am SO coming back here but I'm going to wait maybe several weeks to a month for new art pieces to get brought in. If nothing else I'm most likely going to buy another one of those lovely lamps!

At this point, the art and money were essentially both stolen from me. I've reached out countless…read moretimes after Heather again confirmed that she would ship it, only to be ignored. This is going on 3 months since I purchased the art piece and have yet to receive it, let alone be contacted by Heather at all. This is EXTREMELY unprofessional and disheartening, especially when I went out of my way to support a local business and artist. On July 13th, I bought a few vinyl records and a piece of art that was on display for a local art show. Heather, the owner, was present in the store and assisted with the purchase of both. She informed me that the art show didn't end until July 31st, so if I were to buy the art, she couldn't ship it until the 1st week of August. I agreed to this and purchased the art. Obviously giving her the address where she could ship the art once the art show/exhibit was over. After not receiving the art within the first 3 weeks of August, I began calling the store, but it only goes to voicemail. I left a message and never received a call back. I sent a text to the store's number as instructed on August 24th, but that was ignored as well. Finally on August 30th, after calling each day, Heather answers the phone. She searched for the art for a few minutes, then informed me that it was "just sitting on our shelf with no info". That's odd. But regardless, she reassures me that she would ship it on the following Monday (September 1st). On September 11th, I reached out to Heather directly via a number she had given me and described as her personal cell phone. I sent the text at 5:27pm and she read it at 5:28pm. However, Heather did not reply. I've continued to call the store's phone number in hopes of speaking with her, but I only spoke with a guy once who told me to reach out to Heather's personal cell phone to get assistance with the artwork. On September 28th, I again sent Heather a text message, to which she hasn't responded.
