I also loved the shortbread cookie which really tasted homemade. We shared a chocolate chip cookie and berry crumble bar and both were yummy. The service was good and friendly and venue had a warm country vibe to it. It's also dog friendly inside. We enjoyed sitting inside and enjoying our snacks.

My friend -- a Christian, not even Jewish -- was meeting with a pastor for coffee. He was wearing an IDF jacket and a Star of David necklace while discussing a recent trip to Israel. No shouting. No confrontation. No disruption. Just coffee and conversation. An employee called Durham Regional Police. Officers showed up and told him his conversation was "offensive." When asked what was said that violated policy, no one could answer. No rule cited. No clear complaint identified. Just vague discomfort -- and removal. So what exactly triggered this escalation? Not behavior. Not threats. Not harassment. Symbols. And Israel. Calling the police on someone because others don't like what he's wearing or the country he's discussing is cowardly and discriminatory. Businesses don't get to selectively silence viewpoints they don't agree with. And weaponizing law enforcement to remove someone over perceived "offense" is an outrageous abuse of discretion. If Cork & Bean believes visible support for Israel warrants police involvement, they should say that publicly. If they don't, then they owe an immediate explanation and apology. Until management addresses this directly and transparently, this establishment does not deserve community support. Do better.

Quickly after that, I decided to order two donuts. A chocolate mint and a vanilla dip with sprinkles. My biggest concern was with paying for the donuts. They were pretty inexpensive at $2, but when I asked if they preferred USD or Canadian dollars the cashier started talking down to me. I thought it was a bit rude. Eventually, I ate my two donuts. They were not bad, but I would not refer to them as great. The mint chocolate donut tasted a bit bland while the vanilla dip was covered in sprinkles resulting in it tasting hard. Another one of my concerns here was the mess. The donut display was a bit disorganized and one of the tables were covered in crumbs. This specific Tim Horton's location is connected to a Wendy's and also has a drive through. However, it had a long line. Altogether, I was a bit disappointed with Tim Horton's especially compared to what I have heard.
