I can't enough good things about the out-of-this-world pastries that Tanya Ponder prepares! She makes desserts that are little works of art. They almost look too good to eat...almost. I think of her as the Georgia O'Keeffe of pastries. On the numerous occasions I've talked to her, I found out that she's a CIA graduate, and has worked at some of the finest Michelin star restaurants in the city. It's only a matter of time before she'll be awarded the distinction of being the best vegan pastry chef in the city. A list of pastries I've tried which I highly recommend: 1. The peanut butter blossoms. These are hands-down my favorite. 2. The lemon blueberry crumb. 3. The poached pear. 4. The blackout chocolate cake. So luxurious! Every week she changes the menu, so I always look forward to trying something new when I visit her booth at the Morningside Farmer's Market. Forget everything you thought you knew about vegan pastries - these are amazing! No one makes better vegan pastries than her, so give them a try. You will not be disappointed. read more
