Since then, I have been at Sun Tan City for 3 years and have been satisfied with my experience there but needed somewhere more affordable and closer to home so I came back to Sunsations. My first visit I was shocked by how disgusting the salon was. There was hair, dust bunnies, and a band aid on the floor with the trash overflowing. There was also sweat and oil all over the bed as if someone didn't clean it after the last person. Personally, after my experience here, I would rather go somewhere and pay more money than stay somewhere where the beds aren't cleaned and the salon is not taken care of.

I scheduled my appointment on September 12. Found out the next day I had to go out of town for work for several weeks, not knowing when I could reschedule. I called Monday September 16th and left a message explaining I needed to cancel. Followed up September 19, day before the appointment to confirm it was cancelled and it was not. They will not reimburse me and I only have until October 12 to use the sessions, which will not work for me. So I asked for a credit for a single tanning session and was told their system does not work that way. Which I know is not true. Bad business. We had a conversation about what tanning spray I was going to use and what color tone I wanted . She is very knowledgeable, and she help me pick the right tone and spray for my session. Prior to my appointment she sent me directions on how to prepare my skin for a better glow, and what I should wear to my appointment. She was very helpful. She has a designated area for her business. The room is set up specifically for tanning . The room is very organized and clean. The room was very cute too. It had a lot of cute decor. I have been to tanning places in the past where I have gotten inside this machine for a mystic tan but , it's not a person spraying you so my tan came out super uneven . At Janet's she manually spraying you and there's no missing any spot in your body that you want tanned! My tan lasted me three weeks then it started fading away. I loved it.! After that, I would go to Janet's at least once a year if I go on a vacation or on a beach or even to Vegas I want to look good when I'm by the pool I don't want to wait to get a tan. She had a light glow that she liked, and we all booked appointments to be set two days before the wedding. Booking was seamless! The spray tan studio is a small room inside the Carmel Office Suites building, which houses a ton of small beauty businesses. You can also have them come to your house. To book an appointment, you'll submit an email on their website and they'll call you soon after to get you in the calendar. There's only room for one person to get a spray tan at a time, and it'll just be you and the spray tanner in the room. They have a paper bandeau or underwear for you to wear if you want to be covered while they spray you if you want, or you can go nude. My spray tanner was super friendly and talkative, and made the whole experience not awkward. You can choose colors 1-10, but for a super light-toned person like me, she recommended anywhere between a level 1.5 to a 3. They describe the levels by saying that a 2 is about the level you'd be after being in the sun for an hour or two, and a 3 is more like your skin after coming back from a weekend in Florida. I would have loved to have more of a visual, but I'm sure that's hard for them to accurately display since everyone's skin tone is so different. You have the option to shower five hours after your spray tan, or to sleep in your spray tan all night. They told us that our sheets might get a little color if we didn't shower before bed, but that it washes out easily. Since the spray tan makes you a little sticky, I really wanted to shower before bed and therefore stayed up until 1am to hit my five hours. I therefore personally would want to book an earlier appointment now that I know that. All in all, it was a great experience and our color looked pretty natural. Just enough to give me a healthy glow. The price is also great, especially with the $10 off coupon for your first time when you check-in on yelp and a great refer-a-friend program. I'm glad to be able to incorporate air-tan into my self-care treat routine, just like you might consider a manicure, nice haircut, or wax. Most places will start treating you differently if you don't want to sign up for the best memberships or have concern. The lady heard me and told me the first tan was free, and then showed me that I can sign up for texts and get another free tan. There was no mention of memberships or pricing or anything. I signed my little waiver and within 5 minutes got into a bed. She also gave me her recommendations, as I burn super easily, and I actually didn't come out burnt! It was super clean and I really liked the vibe of the room! Solely because of this treatment, I'll never go to another tanning salon, and I'm more than happy to come back often and pay full price! I completely understand that businesses need to make money and a profit, but this marketing is better than just handing someone a list of prices and trying to convince them to choose the most expensive one.
