However, we were completely blown away by how wonderful it was, with so many great amenities on property and beautiful views. We stayed 4 nights in April. This resort is spread out along two sides of the main highway. We chose a king suite with canal view, instead of the waterfront gulf view. The waterfront rooms looked like they have a great view and very easy access to the pool and dock, but we were delighted with our big deck and access to the additional pool area on the canal side. Our room was so spacious and very clean. We took advantage of the free kayaks, and the beach area was surprisingly fun for snorkeling - we saw so much ocean life! This was our first trip to the Keys, and honestly we were so happy just chilling on the deck and taking in the view and breezes, and visiting the beach, that we could have just stayed at the resort the whole time. Staff is super friendly and helpful. We had the "privacy please" tag on the door for most of our stay as we don't require regular tidying and aren't towel hogs, but the cleaning staff saw us on the deck and still asked if we needed anything. Very nice! Front desk staff were great at explaining all the available amenities and answering any questions. The onsite restaurant Florida Boy was just okay. They do serve breakfast, which is very convenient before heading out for the day. We had a fantastic trip to the keys at Lime Tree Bay and can't wait to book our next trip!

That can't be helped since it is right off the main road! The hotel has a small beach area and a dock. There are plenty of lounge chairs, tables and even a hammock or two. They provide complimentary access to kayaks and paddle boards. There is a nice swimming pool and pickle ball / tennis courts right across the street. The only restaurant in Layton is part of the resort and the food and drinks are good. And of course, the beautiful FL Keys sunsets are part of the package! We had a two bedroom, two bath unit on the second floor. It had a private stair entrance and a large patio that does have an ocean and pool view. The unit is very roomy, on the outdated side as relates to fixtures and appliances, but the beds are comfortable. There is no dishwasher and only one hair dryer. One bedroom has an en-suite and the other bathroom is next to the kitchen, so a bit of a walk during the middle of the night. But, not a big deal for us. Our request for improvement is that the tile floor was filthy, your feet bottoms were black after walking barefoot. Otherwise, we would stay here again. There was a nice mix of families with young kids to retirees.

She took the time to recommend family-friendly activities both at the lodge and around Islamorada, and her recommendations made our trip even more memorable. One of the best things about Cheeca Lodge is that there's truly something for everyone. We loved that we could paddleboard, kayak, ride bikes, fish off the iconic pier, relax by one of the three beautiful oceanfront pools, or simply enjoy the incredible views. There's even complimentary golf, which we didn't have time to take advantage of this trip. Our lagoon-view room was beautiful, peaceful, and impeccably maintained. The entire property is stunning, secure with gated entry, and offers complimentary parking throughout your stay. We also had an amazing experience at Mia Cucina, the Italian restaurant on site. The food was excellent, but what really stood out was the staff. The chefs were so kind and welcoming to our kids, making dinner feel extra special. The complimentary 24-hour shuttle was another huge plus, making it easy to explore the area without worrying about driving. There's also a 24-hour convenience store right across the street, which came in handy more than once. Islamorada ended up being the perfect destination for our family. It has such a relaxed, laid-back feel while still offering plenty to do. They have a great menu for lunch options that they bring out to you. The room was very clean, modern, and spacious. You can request a microwave if you need too! There are bikes, paddle boards, and kayaks for rental for free. Lots of things going on in between the three resorts - we wish we'd had a chance to try the yoga! We will be back for years to come.

After 3 days my wife had to threaten the front desk staff with using towels to wipe her ass if the maids didn't restock the toilet paper in our room. Totally unacceptable for a resort. They kept assuring us the rooms service maids were coming in daily, but they never did until she threatened to come down and make a scene. The staff seemed unmotivated to complete even the basic cleaning tasks. We only asked for two coffee k cups, clean towels and the two room garbage cans to be emptied on a daily basis. That was just too demanding and the staff tried to mean-mug us when we came and went but finally got it done for the final two days of our visit. I'd advise you visit another property because the service is nonexistent and a total disappointment. Their on site restaurant was a joke as well. Completely overpriced and out of touch given the location. Every other restaurant we visited in the area was excellent, but theirs was almost always empty. The menu was way overpriced and there were countless local options that were much better and less expensive. Nearly all the staff on site see to be unwilling to provide service to customers and displaying a shitty attitude overall. Leadership changes need to take place or this property will crumble. Good location, just bad service with inadequate leadership supervision.

The check in process was easy and escorted to the room by an office staff member. Luckily, we got an early check in at 1:40pm since it's not scheduled until 4:00pm. That seems too late in the day to arrive and get settled. The room was hot upon entering so we turned on the AC right away. I felt the room should have been cooler, especially since we had reservations and staff knew we would be arriving. The room was nice and the full size refrigerator was convenient. However, the room could have easily fit two king size beds instead of two queen size beds. Ample towels were provided, including towels for the pool. Ice trays were empty and I feel this is something that could have been filled up while the room was being cleaned. Kitchen allowed recycling and trash to be sorted so that's a plus! There's one light to control the two rooms of the bathroom which means turning it on at night lights up the entire section of the room and not just a small light for the toilet area. The bathroom did NOT have a hairdryer (even though it was listed as being included in the room) and unfortunately, I didn't realize this until after a shower late at night. I ended up going to bed with wet hair. A tiny size shampoo (smaller than a travel size) was given but a travel size conditioner wasn't available. The room was lacking an ironing board and iron. The TV wouldn't turn on--the screen kept saying use remote to press for input 3 but it never worked. No WiFi code was provided. The office closed at 5:00pm and I wasn't about to call the after hours line since that would mean someone would have to come to the room and look at the TV late at night. I wasn't comfortable with that scenario. It shouldn't be that difficult to turn on the TV. There was only one outlet between both beds and the plug I chose to charge my phone didn't work and this wasn't realized until the morning. Good thing I wasn't relying on my phone for an alarm. This also meant other forms of technology were charging on the floor, out of reach. Given the fact the TV wouldn't turn on, I couldn't just fell asleep watching TV, even on my iPad since the device wouldn't be charged for the way home. Upon arrival, we noticed several ants in the kitchen and bathroom counter. Later in the evening, we noticed an increased number of ants. Not a big deal until the ants ended up in two toiletries bags and everything had to be dumped and cleaned out. It's the little things that make a big difference and I felt Ragged Edge was lacking in some areas, especially given the cost for less than a 24 hour stay. In addition, I would have to pack the items that were said to be available in the room since I definitely need a hairdryer. Obviously, I would have to go without an iron and iron board. Given the location and comparable price for this time of year, I would most likely stay here again but would make sure the TV worked and WiFi passcode was given for our unit at check in.

Second they sell "premium" WiFi for streaming but, guess what, it doesn't work and the people who can reset it leave at 5:30, no one available after hours. We'll kill me I wanted to watch TV at night. The final straw was at 10 till nine when we wanted to get a quick dip in the pool and the activities director told us the pool was closed. Only when I counter to him that it's 10 till 9, we have 10 minutes (I had already checked and seen that the pool closes at nine ) did he say OK but then stood there watching us and waiting at the door for us to get out of the pool. No, I will never stay here again and do not recommend anybody else to do so.
