As Evan said in the last review, adjust your mindset! This is a beautiful campground in Key Largo with lots of long timers and permanent owners. It is definitely an old campground, but it is well maintained and loved by those who run it. We had a great time on the private beach and the best kayak through the mangroves. I appreciated the bubbler for keeping dangerous wildlife off the beach area. It's nice and quiet in the evenings and a safe place for kids to explore and have fun. The heated pool is sparkling clean and warm. We had a beautiful weeklong visit over spring break and can't wait to come back again! read more

Reminds me of an old KOA. Did not use the amenities but they looked nice. Newly renovated bath house and the laundry look nice. Friendly staff. Easy access to Publix. Nice foliage here and there. Beach is nice. FYI, lots of full timers and or long timers here. Permanent sites. Some are rough. Many are nice. Just adjust your mindset. This ain't the Ritz. We really enjoy the peaceful vibe of the place, magnified by those who are here; celebrating friendship with totally different people. Yikes! This campground is in an optimal location, near dive shops, shopping, and bike path. Centralized facility amenities that are used by year-round residents are fairly well-maintained to include the swimming pool, boat dock, and boat ramp. The campground offers a level of security to include fencing around the perimeter and a motorized gate at the front that is locked from 11 PM to 8 AM daily. The only way to get in is with a key card. Note that getting out before 8 AM is impossible as a pedestrian since the gate is operated by a weight sensor (key card does not work from the inside so runners/walkers beware!) Unfortunately, the overall campground for transient campers is in poor shape. This is not a KOA or singularly owned endeavor, this is privately owned pieces of property that are rented out through central front office managed by an HOA. Note that there is no presence at the office overnight. Individuals that live here year-round have done a nice job to fix up their living areas, although some are falling apart, and most appear to utilize hook ups with no need for Campground utilities and facilities (bathrooms/laundry). Anything that is not utilized by the HOA is falling apart or inoperable. The public bathrooms and showers are not ADA accessible, are poorly lit, and/or have light fixtures that are inoperable. Shower curtains are dirty, moldy and falling off the hooks. The bathrooms are cleaned daily, but there is no set schedule, which creates a challenge in the evenings for those on foot trying to find an open bathroom and shower. Frequent outages with basics such as hand soap is also a challenge. Most of the washers in the laundry room were inoperable and we ended up having to go outside the Campground to utilize a laundromat. Stormwater management within the campground is problematic after rainfall, and floods are routine in the back portion of the campground (utilized by transient campers) . Trying to navigate from the campsite to the restrooms can be a challenge without having to wade through sizable puddles. Even when dry, the condition of access roads is poor. Fixtures at the transient campsites, to include water, faucets, and electrical panels, are leaking or falling apart, respectively; we experienced a grounding issue at our campsite. Despite quiet time, ambient noise within the campground can be problematic, particularly in the transient Campground area. We enjoyed a major tree trimming project that started just after dawn, trash pick ups in the adjoining neighborhood at 5:30 AM on Mondays, loud permanent residents and leaf blowers usage by residents in the early mornings is not atypical. We probably would not of been as picky if we had not been paying exorbitant daily fees to stay here and photos on the website are misleading. After we arrived and discovered the state of the campground, we were not in a position to leave without losing payment for the balance of the stay. For the price, we would've expected this campground to be pristine. I simply would not recommend this Campground, although I do understand that the high demand in this neck of the woods leaves people with no other choice. read more

I wanted an idea of how this place was, so I went online and read reviews. By the time I was done reading so many unfavorable reviews, I was concerned. Unfriendly staff, double booking reservations, turning paid customers away, year round residents with dilapidated mobile homes, and so on. Our experience: The lady who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. The grounds are very well kept. This is a wonderful Keys experience. Lush, tropical palms, and flowers. It's not just a parking lot with hookups like a lot of the RV resorts are in the Keys. We have a beautiful stone patio right outside our door. We really couldn't ask for a better place to camp for 5 days. We feel right at home. I will add my review to those negative reviews. If you have a 45 foot rig, this place might be tight, but we fit real nice here in our 24 foot trailer. We had site #13. Oh and full hookups too! read more

My wife and I found a tiny home to stay at on Airbnb for our 15yr anniversary. This is the first vacation we have been on since having our first child 14yrs ago and we were so glad we stayed here! We were wanting a quiet secluded place away from kids and the rest of the world and this place knocked it out of the park! From the moment we checked in, we were welcomed by security and it was a very smooth transition to our tiny home. The camp ground is very clean and it was nice to walk down to the tiny beach with our coffee and watch the sunrise. They have gated security and quiet hours which was perfect for us because we wanted to relax away from the party scene. After spending the week here, we were so refreshed and relaxed and want to go back ASAP! Great job welcoming us to the Keys and we look forward to our next adventure there. read more

I feel like I booked a week in Shantytown. The pictures are what I have to look at for a (nonrefundable) week. Paint is peeling in the facilities, there's no grout left in the tiled showers, the laundry is dirty. Actually, everything is dirty. The lady at the front desk couldn't have cared less about my complaint. She gave me the email of the "property manager." It's been 8 hours and no response. The web site doesn't tell you that this is a "condominiumized" campground. I'm glad people are able to secure their little place in the sun, but this certainly isn't my idea of a campground. Some of these trailers have been here so long that the skirting is rotting away. We will stay because we've already paid. But never again. UPDATE: Had a visit from the new property manager, wanting to address my concerns (which he really couldn't, since they are at 100% capacity. He acknowledged that the perm trailer next to us was about the ugliest one he'd ever seen, and it was the first time he'd seen it. He assured me it was the ugliest one in the park. He said the owner hasn't been seen or heard from in a year. I said "then whose jeep is that behind it?" He said what? And I showed it to him. Turns out the Jeep has been sitting there for a year as well, with no top. I told him that we had decided in any event to stick it out. There were some pluses to the site (ugly trailer notwithstanding: our other neighbors are quiet, polite, and don't smoke or play loud music. And the site is shady. The new property manager has a good manner, and I believe him when he said the new company is setting about improving the place. read more

This was the third year in a row that we stayed at Key Largo Kampground. We were there April 2025 and had a great site along the water and were able to tie up our boat alongside the site. We also had a tiki hut and picnic table next to the water. It was neat and clean and a large site. It is a beautiful location and as close to paradise as you can get. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We had a medical emergency with one of our family members (which thankfully turned out all right) - the paramedics and hospital on Marathon Key were excellent - all were professional, courteous, and put us all at ease. We were in good hands. The office staff assisted us and the neighbors were very kind in asking if we needed anything. We will be returning there. read more

Our Go-To Campground when visiting the Florida Keys. Clean, friendly staff, and tons to enjoy, from the two beaches to the clubhouse, pool, and courts. I've caught bingo night a couple times before which is always a pleasant surprise. The local residents and owners are always friendly and can help you as well. We love to camp in a tent, and the spots are always a large enough size to set up a hammock, a kitchen area, and our large tent. Honestly, we would live here if we could. In my entire life I have never experienced prejudice because of my heritage. For the first time I experienced this at Key Largo kampground by the staff. If you are of hispanic origen avoid this campground. I had read the negative reviews of this place and they spoke of how the staff and residents were racist and I thought that they were exaggerating but I experienced it for myself and it's very disheartening. Initially I was nervous about camping here due to the mixed reviews. I am glad we decided to give it a try! Tent camping here was the cheapest way to stay in the keys. My site was plenty big for our 12 person tent and SUV. Bathrooms were cleaned often. Showers were a little run down but no surprise because of the number of people using them. Campground was clean and people were friendly. Conveniently has a Publix and a couple restaurants right before the entrance to the campground. We slept like a baby because it is so quiet at night. Also has a pool, volleyball, shuffleboard and a few other amenities on site including WiFi. We'll definitely be back again! read more

Was assigned to a full hookup spot which flooded every morning when the tide came in. Mentioned to the office and they said "oh nothing we can do about it". You could have at least warned us so that our towels, chairs, mats were out of the way. Nice pool but that's about it. Many mosquitoes too. read more

Maintenance staff is great, but the management is not at all good. Front office staff had only one person who understood customer service. Ask for anything and get the feeling you are a bother. Management company has not figured out booking software so my site was double booked the last two days of my 8 week stay. I was told I was causing the "jam up", I had no knowledge whatsoever of how this happened, I was a customer, not an employee with access to their computers! Infrastructure issues as well, buildings are aging, roads need repair, laundry facilities have only two thirds of the machines that work. Considering the prices, the service, not sure the value is there for the dollar. read more

Well we paid for 3 nights but we are talking about leaving now. It is a beautiful and peaceful, secure park to stay. But severe weather warning are out for severe thunderstorms which may include tornado watches and warnings. We go to office and ask about what to do for security if that happens and we are told oh you can only go on back patio which only has lattis around it. We asked if they open the club house not according to lady in office or residence. We asked what do they do then and was told oh we blow an air horn on speaker, lock the doors and leave!!! No refunds either! So obviously they dont truly care about their residence or campers since they don't give secure location for them to take shelter!! read more

This is a nice little get away! We enjoy going with our RV and spending some relaxing time away from the routine. There is a great pool, marina, playground ( if you are going with kids), a sandy beach area, and a supermarket conveniently nearby if you need anything. We decided last minute to take the RV on its inaugural trip. Went to the Key Largo because it was close so we could do it over the weekend. Unfortunately availability and price of RV parks in the Keys was insane. We ended up choosing Kay Largo Kampground mainly because it was available and was in Key Largo which is closer than some of the other places further down the keys. The place is easy to miss as there is no sign on the main street however it's right next to a plaza with a Kmart and a Publix. You need to turn left (if coming from the north) right before the plaza. Then you will see the sign for the campground. The staff was friendly during our brief interaction. They do not allow late checkout even if you pay, I was told to book another night. We chose a spot on the water and at around $124/night I was definitely not booking another night just for late checkout. That leads me into the price. It's pretty pricey, although comparable to other rv parks I contacted in the Keys. They do not accept any kind of discount clubs like Sam Good etc. I have not stayed at any other RV park in the keys so I can't compare it directly. However for the price I really did expect more. The spaces were decent size and most of them should be pretty easy to back into, although a couple might be trickier. Each one of the spots on the water has its own tiki hut, although some have bigger tikis than others. You also get your own picnic table, however position of the table, at least in our spot was pretty bad, basically right on top of our neighbors sewer line. You could move the table, but it's heavy so you will need more than one person. We didn't bother and just setup our chairs under the tiki. Unfortunately there isn't much to do at the campground itself. They do have a pool which we did not try so can't comment. However they also claimed to have a beach area, which we were interested in and specifically picked a spot near the "beach". Please note... there is no beach. There is a small section where they put some sand and called it a beach. It was pretty nasty. Even the sand was covered in old seaweed that has started to rot and made a nasty slippery mess. The water was also not very nice and full of seaweed and other stuff. One side of the "beach" actually smelled pretty bad. Most of the spots seem to be taken up by permanent trailers and only a small portion of the campground is rentals. The permanent trailers were in decent shape and for the most part well kept and clean. Overall the campground is ok although overpriced for what you get in my opinion. We would personally try a different campground if we ever decide to stay in the keys again. If you have a boat and plan on going out boating most of the time then it might be a good spot for you since you can have easy access to your boat with one of the waterfront spots. read more

If you like standing water, mosquitoes, unfriendly, no downright rude staff and crazy rules by all means stay here otherwise STAY AWAY!!!! It could be a nice place but for the price there are much better places to stay, and as I said earlier a friendly word from the staff would go a very long way but the girls in the office are downright rude and unhelpful. I should have known when I called on my way in to let them know I would be late, I gave my name and said I had a reservation to which the response was "SO" and then "if you arrive after 10pm there is no way for you to get in." Thankfully we arrived by 9pm and were met by the security guard Eddie, a delightful man the only bright spot and exceedingly nice and helpful, who checked us in. Our site (104) flooded for our entire week stay. The office staff was rude to not only me and my husband but to our guests as well which we had to pay for, just so they could get on our boat and we could leave (SMH)...there are plenty of nicer, friendlier, cleaner, updated places to stay do not waste your time or money. We have been in the keys another three weeks and have had nothing but a wonderful time at our other campground for the same $$$$ BTW the photos are the campers they allow to remain at their campground...These will be your neighbors...PHOTOS DO NOT LIE!!! read more

The girl running this place is very nice. Our site wasn't vacated so we ended up on another site which was fine. She was very apologetic. The pool was also very nice Unfortunately the road are very narrow so moving around is definitely difficult. I had to was behind our 35' 5th wheel to watch the swing and branches that threatened our AC units. (Website says they take up to 40 footers). The other thing we noticed as we sat at our site and walked around was the pretty strong wife's of sewer. It was not our unit. It was cool enough to leave windows open but had to run AC due to the awful sewer smell in the air. read more

We loved this campground. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. The park is immaculate and well maintained by the groundsmen (who are also all very friendly and welcoming.) The only reason I'm not giving this stay 5 stars is because the bath house is very run down and super hot. If it was at least air conditioned, it would make showering and getting ready so much nicer. I also feel camp fires should be allowed. Who goes camping and doesn't have a camp fire??? It's very obvious that this park has a lot of owners and few rentals because everything shuts down early and it's very quiet at nice (which we liked.) If you're looking for a party campground, this one won't be for you. read more

Bring a boat or a canoe! If you plan on just camping and staying on the facilities then your probably not going to maximize your fun. They have a nice big community pool and a beach (bay/mangrove). This is not a beautiful siesta key beach. The camp sites are next to each other with limited privacy! So why did I give it 4 stars? Because if you camp here you need to understand this is the keys! Fishing and snorkeling capital of the world. The location of the site it perfect, only a few minutes from restaurant and john penny camp. If you bring a boat they have a ramps and docks on the premise. After a full day on the boat you can take a dip in the Pool. I would skip the tent and rent a RV. They have beautiful RVs for rent. They also have a nice playground and sites are very clean and safe. Nights are quiet, they do enforce noise ordinance which I love. read more

I thought that the campground was great! They had various activities such as swimming, volleyball, basketball, beanbag toss, shuffle board, and two small beaches (which were pretty clean!) They also a different tournament basically everyday, and offer a different activity almost every night in the main hall. The activities include Bingo Potlucks Donuts and coffee Special lunches Ice cream sundae night & many more varies activities throughout the year Another thing that I found really pleasant about the campground was how friendly everyone was! Everyone around here treats each other like family and isn't afraid to help out if needed. While we were staying here we met some new friends who also offered us to use their canoe. Canoeing is also a very fun activity to do here because there's a mangrove right outside of the campgrounds' canal. The lot that we stayed on itself was a pretty descent size, and the water was clear enough that if you looked down you could see the bottom and the fish. Overall I definitely recommend this campground because it has lots of activities, pretty views, and lots of friendly people! read more

We had a wonderful stay at this quaint campground located off a canal has water access w boat slip and dock. Grounds were very clean and gravel covered so there isn't a lot of grass and dirt tracked in and out of your RV. Every time i went into the bathhouse there was someone cleaning and sanitizing which was a big plus!!! Customer service was top notch and super accommodating and I love that the gate is locked at 11pm every night , felt very safe while asleep. We will definitely be returning on our next Keys vacation! read more

If you have a dog or you happen to be a pet lover? Warning! I would stay clear from this RV Park! Key Largo Kampground & Marina is not a good place to go since they judge all older dogs to be biters! At lease that is what the receptionist told me. It's not a dog friendly RV Park - they must hate old dogs to be so ignorant! When I called the reservationist asked me what type of dog I had and then I told her "Ginger" (my sweet rescue dog) is harmless. God love her she's a 20-year old dog (which is unheard for a dog her size 36 lbs. to live this long). She's never hurt a flea nor bit a single person in her life. We take good care of her and she's trying real hard to out live us! We realize Ginger's time is fleeting since her best friend and life long companion Charlie (another 20 year old dog) when on a well deserved vacation to "Doggie Heaven" 2 weeks ago. But this snooty woman said older dogs are more likely to bit since ... in her opinion "they are so old". Angered by her stupid comment I hung up and moved on to a less judgmental and ignorant opinion of "Man's Best Friend." I'm an expert on dogs. Just finished writing a book on the subject plus I started a non-kill animal shelter and ran it for 12 years. I won an Emmy for a TV show about animal rescue and hosted a dog behavior talk radio show. So if you ask my opinion don't go to Key Largo Kampground & Marina. They're not pet friendly in my opinion.
