This place is absolutely every thing you need in a kayaking tour!!!! Very pretty place. Are tour guide, ( Steven ) was extremely nice and gave off a nice vibe! Me and my family were able to swim in the water while on the kayak tour! Extremely fun experience to see and enjoy!!! There were a few hands on things such as swimming, getting the chance to hold a starfish and more! Very happy with the outcome of the experience!!!!!!! I would do this again! 10/10

AWESOME Kayak adventure. The tour was magnificent the guide Shane was terrific. Very informative. Very helpful, I fell in. He pulled me out. Just beautiful, serene, isolated, fun, easy to do really worth every penny.

Florida Bay Outfitters has a great location right next to the legendary Caribbean Club of the "Key Largo" film fame. It's small but loaded with near everything you'd want from an outfitter. Though I only stopped by to purchase a cap, they have all sorts of clothing plus all kinds of kayaks and paddleboats for sale or rental. Better yet, tours such as their Pennekamp State Park Kayak Eco-Tour where you can, in their words "Explore the magical walking trees and the seagrass beds in the protected Pennekamp State Park environment while searching for wildlife inhabitants." The staff of Florida Bay Outfitters is not only polite but knowledgeable totally competent professionals.

I am very please with the service of Florida Bay kayak rental shop. Pinche Thomas took on my wild request, for me to rent a Kayak last minute to see the sunset -- when the shop usually close earlier than that. Pinche agreed right away and his team got me setup with my rental. Thank you Pinche Thomas to agreeing to come back with your wife to the shop and locking up again. Very professional and friendly staff! I would strongly recommend renting kayaks for seeing the keys, you won't regret. I will be coming back for paddle board rental and tours -- I also recommend Florida Bay Kayak shop adds sunset kayak rental tours!

We decided to head down to the keys for a family Sunday funday. I had read the reviews in Florida Bay Outfitters and decided kayaking sounded like a great way to enjoy the beautiful weather. The service was great, we were tended to quickly and in 10 mins my family were off kayaking right off the beach out back. We did the 2 hour rental and had an amazing time. It was very reasonably priced and was a great day with my family. I would recommend to anyone looking to have a fun time for a reasonable price.

I was once again at the Florida Bay outfitters this past weekend. I had recently went up on New Year's Day and purchased a new kayak they were so absolutely wonderful that I decided to give the kayak to my wife and I drove back up there from big pine key and purchased another one. Matt, Adrian, Eric and Bob the owner are just absolutely amazing! I had called a couple of times on Saturday and spoke with a young lady I did not get her name I believe it was Rebecca and she too was just outstanding. They have a amazing selection and if you're not sure you can actually get the kayak on the water and try it out. They also offer a large selection of rentals from small all the way up to the kayak sailing unit. The best customer service I truly believe I have ever had. I just got off the phone with Eric and purchased a new cover instead of me driving all the way back up there they're going to ship it to me with a very reasonable price. They have a lifelong customer!

Fun family day out in Key Largo!

Awesome tour today out on the mangroves! Thank you Kayak Mike for guiding us patiently, keeping us hydrated and teaching us about the wildlife.

    Boat. Mangroves. Water.

Friendly staff, quality boats, super convenient. I had a day to spare on a work trip and wanted to check out a bit of the keys. This was an easy drive from Miami (1.5 hours or less) and totally worth it! The guy who helped me out was kind enough to NOT sell me on the bug spray when I asked - he said they wouldn't be out when I was going, and he was right. It was probably a $20 bottle of bug spray, haha. I did buy the $20 bottle of sun screen and thank goodness I did! I was out for around 3 hours total and that was perfect for me. I left from their shop, super easy. Next time I would ask to use the free shuttle as I'd like to get a little further in the mangroves and maybe further from some of the boat traffic.

We found a seat under the blue tent next to the dock which is used to stage the guess, they start boarding 15 minutes before the departure time and it's really a simple task even though they still manually check-in each guest as you board the vessel verses simply scanning the QR Code on the ticket or app. The 65' Catamaran is clean and spacious and the crew is extremely friendly, the tour guides are very knowledgeable and bubbly so they make every effort to make it fun. You can bring your non-alcoholic beverages on board since they no longer operate the snack bar, they do have (2) heads at the rear of the boat (restrooms). Once the boat leaves the dock it's a slow ride through the mangrove lined canal to the open water, the no wake zone continues until you pass the last navigational buoys, then he kick it up to about 18 knots until he approaches the reef I think that ride was about 25 minutes, it a nice relaxing ride, the interior cabin is air conditioned but the real adventure is on the open air top deck where the breeze is refreshing and you get the real outdoorsy experience. Once the boat arrives at the reef the captain brings the vessel to an idle and the viewing wells turn crystal clear exposing another world, the water depth over the coral reef is between 10' - 25' and the tour guide explains the viewing well numbering system so you know where to look while she explains what the boat is crossing over - she is very knowledgeable and explains everything you see - all the colorful fish and sea-life which is abundant as well as the coral types and objects that rest on the bottom. The tour runs about 2.5 hours and they take no short cuts so you get the total experience. They allow just enough time to get you back to the dock on time and honestly as much as I enjoyed it I was ready for it to be over, the ride back was not as exciting as the ride out and I found myself looking at my watch often - I thought it was a good value and worth the time but once is probably enough for me - the boat was about half filled so it wasn't crowded with about a third being kids and there's no doubt they loved it...

What a nice ride! We were afraid the weather wouldn't let us go! Thanks Mother Nature!…read moreEverything was on time. Clean boat, pleasant guides! In fact, the guide who described the plants & aquatic life while we were cruising over the reef was amazing! Knowledgeable & quick to identify what she saw & its location. They gave lots of info on avoiding seasickness & I didn't see anyone suffering. We took a camera but there wasn't a need. Cell phones are enough. I used my binoculars & only used them a bit to see birds in the mangroves. You can take plastic bottled drinks on board. You might not want to wear a hat. We stood on the front deck & it was perfect. It's with the $36 ticket for a 2.5 hr. excursion. Masks required inside.

One of the participants on our boat did exactly that and she enjoyed herself on both trips. The boat went to different locations on each day, so repeat snorkeler was able to see different parts of the reef. Paradise Island Charters is a small boat that holds only 15 people, and we had 11 on our trip. The sales rep at the dock said the limited capacity allows for a more personal trip with more attention from the crew. This was very much the case as we had a couple of newbies with us and First Mate Al was able to provide them with a lot of assistance (& patience!) Al was very knowledgeable about the fish, the reef, and the overall snorkeling process. She was personable and seemed to enjoy her job very much. She even gave us a few good suggestions for places to dine in Key Largo. Captain Doug was friendly, knowledgeable, and very safety-conscious. He was also an amazing captain. He spotted a family of dolphins and skillfully turned his boat in large circles at just the right speed so that the dolphins could safely frolic in the boat's wake. What an amazing sight! We watched the dolphins jumping for several minutes until they swam off. Thank you Captain Doug for that awesome show! Unfortunately the snorkeling was exciting but not for the best of reasons: numerous jellyfish were floating in the area and we spent a lot of time trying to avoid them. Although the coral and the fish were great to see, the abundance of jellyfish was a big distraction. And some of the snorkelers were stung. If you are comparing snorkeling tour operators, please be aware that Paradise Island Charters does not include the snorkeling equipment in the base price of their tours. They do offer prescription snorkel masks for people who wear glasses. Overall, the trip was really fun and I would recommend this company to other snorkelers. Doug and Al are a key part of their success.
