When I initially called them for help in which boat we should pick for our excursion, that woman that answered the phone was so nice and helpful and just got me more excited to book and made it fun to look forward to. I liked that this one was only 3 hours, because we were stopping on our way back to Miami from Key West and we didn't want to be on the water all day. The day of when we were driving up from Key West, we thought we had plenty of time to get there, but traffic was proving it difficult for us to make it on time. I called the shop to ask about how much time we would have since we wouldn't be able to get there in the 30 mins prior to make way, as requested when booking. Alanna answered the phone and was more than happy to help out. I called about an hour prior to our initial arrival time to inform them we may be late, and she was wonderful. She said they could hold the boat for a few minutes for us but just to keep them posted. As we inched our way closer and closer to Tavinier, traffic still was not on our side. They called and checked in on us and how the drive was going, and this to me made me feel taken care of above and beyond. They didn't have to call, they didn't have to wait, but they did, and I was very much appreciative of them! When it came to finally making my way in, I couldn't find parking, and again, Alanna saved the day and helped me locate a spot! We ran to the boat, hopped on and Captain Chris and Mate Savannah were so wonderful with the same southern hospitality. They greeted us with huge smiles and off we went. Savannah and Chris both checked in on us once we were parked at the sandbar, offering bevs, floating devices, conversation, and just a great time! My son and I really enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend this charter!

The initial boat ride out was good. Took about an hour to board, talk through procedures, get…read morevests, etc and arrive at the reef. Once at the reef, the water was extremely choppy. One passenger fell due to the extreme waves. Everyone put in their gear and started snorkeling, many people were struggling due to the waves and I was one of them. I got back on the boat 5 mins after struggling with the waves. For the next hour, I was extremely sea sick on the side of the boat. Many people proceeded to get back to the boat after me with bad sea sickness. Many snorkelers had to be rescued with a flotation devices. 90% of people were back on the boat before the time was up. I'm very been on this trip with this company before and had no problems. The water then was calm. I don't think it was safe to allow people to snorkeling in those wave conditions.

Though, we've wakeboarded and snowboarded, kite surfing is a totally different game and you need an expert like Mike. This was six senior adults with most of them not accustomed to be on the water. We had a wonderful tour seeing turtles, dolphins, some of the coral around the lighthouse offshore, and through some mangrove groves on the bay side of the island.
