Allowed pool to turn green which was from previous week not getting service. Called and emailed manager related to this. Then asked them to offset 2 weeks of poor service with bill adjustment and they refused. On multiple instances, this company provided great service: - Our pool suddenly turned green. They identified the issue, offered a solution (I was skeptical about it since it took multiple iterations to work) and fixed it. 3 days later, pool was back to its pristine blue color - During Irma, my neighbors were out of town and needed their pool drained to avoid it overflowing and flooding their place. Not knowing how their valves work, I called Sun King, sent them a picture of my neighbor's pump and they walked me through the operation remotely - After Irma, there was a lot of debris in my pool on top of things from the patio we had dropped into it. The team cleaned up the debris but also removed the things I had dropped in the pool and put them back on the patio. Really appreciated the effort since it saved me time. So, it started out as an awful experience, got a little better, but if I had to do it again I'd hire someone else. They did a good (not great) job, but dealing with them was pretty much a hassle every step of the way. Slightly sloppy work and very poor communication. We were in the market to have our pool and spa refinished, so Charles, the owner, came out and measured our pool and spa. He was quick and professional. We were told he'd get us a quote that night. Three or four days passed and I hadn't heard from him. This should have been my red flag from the get go. I contacted him, he apologized and he sent a quote the next day. When we signed the contract, he said they could start on Wednesday and have it all done by Monday. Awesome! Wednesday came and by 11am, no one was at my home. I called him around noon to make sure they were still coming, to which he said they are a little backed up but will be there in a few hours. Not a big deal, but I wished he had called to let me know. 4 hours later, 3pm, still no one here, still no phone call. I called him yet again and he said they're about 45 minutes away but at this point it's too late in the day to get started so they'll just drop off their equipment and get started first thing Thursday (today). 5:30 pm Wednesday, I see their truck pull into my drive way, no one knocks on my door or says anything, they just roll their equipment into my side yard and leave. They were here for all of 30 seconds. So, Thursday. My husband and I have been gone at work all day. Charles had permission to start work on our pool while we were gone, as was agreed upon. My husband gets home at 5pm and NOT ONE THING has been done to our pool. No one came to our home period. And what's worse, NOT EVEN A PHONE CALL was made to let us know they'd be postponed an additional day. Upon learning this, I called Charles twice, he did not answer and his voicemail was full (bad sign- makes you wonder how many other angry customers have left him messages). So I sent him two text messages, the first asking him to call me, and the second informing him that this is absolutely unprofessional and we need to mail down a definite date and stick to it. I did not hear from him until the next day. In his defense, he didn't know the guy didn't show up and he had misplaced his phone the day prior. Once work got started, it went quickly. The finish turned out nice, but imperfect. There are a few lumpy spots which you can see very clearly when the water is still, multiple white patches where it looked like the plaster wasn't cleaned very well after it was buffed, they also never consulted us on the color of the stair tiles, so they just put down a navy blue. We would have preferred white, but whatever. Not worth the hassle. Also, the plaster work around the tiles is messy and overlapping the tiles in some places, so the tiles don't have clean edges. They also splattered something (looks like concrete) and never cleaned it up so we have a few concrete lumps stuck to the edge of our spa. They installed a spa heater, which my husband had to remind them to ground, which is a fire/safety hazard when left ungrounded, and they had to go back and add a bypass valve which they should have done from the get-go, as the instruction manual for the heater recommended. Lastly, there was so much excess plaster left uncleaned in our pool that it actually clogged our pool filter less than a month after we had the work done. Honestly, I'm just glad to have it done at this point, but we're less than pleased with the professionalism and quality of service. Working with Sun King was a hassle pretty much every step of the way and not worth the thousands of dollars we paid them. I'm giving them two stars instead of one because they did the bare minimum and got it done and weren't completely god awful. read more

I used this company for years and they used to be reliable. Now, I get ignored every time I call or text. I can't get a response in a timely manner. Also, they tried to charge me double for a salt cell. I would not recommend using this company. read more

This was my first visit here. I came here after a horrible experience at Leslie pool supply. It was nice to see great customer service and a nice storefront. The lady that helped us out answered all her questions and was extremely polite. She mentioned that there was a flyer mailed out giving you 15% discount that unfortunately we didn't get in the mail. Regardless she gave us a discount and took down our information so she can track our purchases so that we have all the information we need for future visits. It was a nice surprise to hear that this is not just another franchise. These are local business owners that live in the area serving their community. Since it's not some big corporation that doesn't care about customer service like the earlier mentioned pool supply store. I am more than happy to support this business. We got a great price and we got great customer service! read more

I would pass on Sun King Pool. Not client friendly. They do not stand behind their work. Office manager, Amanda is less than helpful and crosses the line into rude territory pretty quickly. She clearly has no idea what customer service is about. The tech who is servicing my pool is not doing the quote services and there is NO communication rather be helpful and work together Amanda refuses to talk to me because I am "Just a tenant"...Apparently she has a very low opinion of Tenants and it's not just my experience, this is their MO - check their Facebook reviews. If you are property manager who values it's clients avoid this company, they will not treat your client with respect and they will make more work for you by refusing to talk to your tenant. If you are homeowner avoid this company they do not stand by their work. read more

Absolutely horrible experience. I use a different pool company, however, I come home to find one of its pool techs cleaning my pool. He had the wrong address. When I told him he didn't service my pool he actually made me go to his truck with him to check the service order. Sure enough wrong address. Unfortunately he had already backwashed my pool and was to lazy to move the hose to the street so a large area of my grass was killed by pool chemicals. Then he did not properly drain back wash hose and left it full of water in a big heap on my patio. Totally mad every time I see the damaged grass. Would not recommend. Service is horrible. read more

This company does not offer reliable, proactive pool maintenance. I had been a customer for a couple of years, when my pool started going green. First, they blamed a broken filter cover. I asked them to replace what was broken, but they never did. Instead, they stopped cleaning the filter, then blamed high nitrates. When they told me they'd charge $200 to partially drain my pool, I declined the service. They continued to perform "standard service" during the summer while we were out of town. As the technician told me himself, "I've been dumping a lot of chlorine in there." Apparently, he still wasn't cleaning the filter. When my new service technician came to assess my pool, he opened the filter easily, only to have a green swamp spill out onto my sidewalk. Sun King may be reasonably priced, but you'll end up paying more to fix the results of their neglect. read more

If I could give this company zero stars, I surely would. Unfortunately, 1 star is the lowest rating I could give. Anyway, consider yourself warned, do not do business with this company. Everything about them is unprofessional. The person who serviced my pool weekly constantly broke my pool sweep hoses. In fact, my parents watched him do it and when I confronted him, he lied right ro my face. Total, I had to replace 6 hoses in 2 months. Then I reported him to the owner (Charles), and he did nothing about it. Then the salt system that they lend you for being a customer went out and the technician (Jim) they sent out was completely unprofessional. I don't know anyone who thinks it is ok to yell and curse at customers but he did. Several times I was quoted one price by the owner and then another price by the repair technician. But the best part of it all was when the salt system stayed broken from over two months and when I finally said, I had enough, I am ending my service; the technician came on my property without notifying anyone and removed their equipment (salt systtem and pool sweep) and my equipment (pool sweep hoses) before the month was over, regardless of the fact that I was paid up to the end of the month. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES! If they were anything like a professional company, they would have scheduled a day to remove their equipment so someone could have been present when they did it and they would have left my equipment instead of stealing my equipment! Way to go Sun King Pools you are truly awesome! read more

We just bought our first home a few months ago and couldn't find anyone that wanted to clean our pool because it was a painted pool. Sun King is the only company who would do it. We have been using them as our pool cleaning service and they do an excellent job at a fair price. Everyone from the office lady(Amanda) to the pool cleaning guy and even the owner (Charles) have all been very helpful and professional. I am now going through the estimate process of having them possibly refinish my pool. They are a very honest and trustworthy company. read more
