They made excuses, stopped showing up, and refused to refund what we paid. Feels like a classic "take the money and run" situation. Shayna and her employee came to our home to provide a quote for weekly pool service. They offered a discount if we paid six months in full upfront. We agreed and sent payment via Zelle as directed to avoid third-party fees. After a few weeks, Shayna contacted us claiming her employee had "stolen our money" and that we would need to go after the funds ourselves--or she would not continue our service. Shortly after, she sent another message saying she was "hacked" and to disregard the previous message. Weeks passed and we had another missed service, so we reached out again. Shayna repeated the same story, word for word, and again refused to refund or provide service. Asking us to go after the "lost money" so we can pay her again. Ironically, the same employee who supposedly "stole" the payment showed up to clean our pool out of guilt that the owner wasn't doing the right thing. Shayna later said she would resume service, only to miss another week. When we followed up yet again, she repeated that we should go after our own money rather than resolving the issue. As well as a laundry list of drama between her and her staff. If they even exist due to us never having another person at our house besides these two. It is entirely inappropriate and unprofessional to ask a customer to handle a company's internal business issues. The repeated, inconsistent stories and lack of accountability have led to a total loss of trust. We have also had people reach out to us privately saying they encountered the same thing with her. It's all shady.
