Nancy did a great job walking us through the contract and pool design process. When I went into the store Gena was very helpful with my warranty questions, and Robert did an amazing job teaching me about my equipment. Since I've never owned a pool before, this was a great big help. UPDATE: 5 years post pool- install with this absolute NIGHTMARE of a company. We still deal with UNEVEN FOUNTAINS because they admitted to skimping out on plumbing and putting our deck jets on one plumbing line with one valve instead of 2, meaning the first fountain closest to the valve gets all the pressure and the second one is very noticeably lower in height because it gets less pressure. Our feet continue to get TORN UP in the pool because they sold us the pebble sheen but put in something MUCH COURSER which destroys everyone's feet. The bottom is SO SO ROUGH! Our concrete continues to be a huge issue and we will eventually have to have it redone or add a French drain because it is SO UNEVEN on one side that rain just sits and creates a complete mess! The roof they put in continues to leak like crazy as it did immediately after completion. People that come over to our home are appalled at the work of this company! I invite anyone and everyone over to see the complete CRAP work of this company! I am shocked they are still in business! read more

If I could leave zero stars, I would. Working with Patio Pools has been a horrible experience. Their work was significantly delayed without reasonable excuse despite promises that it would be completed quickly (seven months later we are still trying to have things completed), our pavers sunk in causing my toddler to almost have a serious injury, they left waste in our yard for months on end making our property an eye sore, they destroyed our personal property and refuse to reimburse us for their damage, and their back office has treated us with complete disrespect. Sprayed concrete on my neighbor's roof and his driveway pavers. I communicated the problem and emailed the estimates to have it fixed and then nothing. Patio pools said the concrete company has insurance and they'll fix it but never forwarded the emails to the concrete company. I don't know who the concrete company is - I only dealt with patio pools. Nothing has been done in months and it's thousands of dollars of damage. Busted the pipe to my well and the drain pipe from my water filter. Zero help to get it fixed. Cut the frontier internet wire twice too. A lot of damage and headaches. read more

Our pool from start to finish took about 35 days, we have neighbors using other pool builders going on 3-6 month build times. Nancy lied and said Olympus pools is going out of business to finalize a contract. The owner is argumentative and offered our deposit back when we called them out on the lies. Workmanship is that of a 1st grader at best. From the rebar installer fishing in my pond and neglecting the quality of work expected.. to their tile/coping hack job.. this company is a complete joke. Best of all... the warranty manager Gina uses every tactic to deflect any warranty concerns. My pool interior is pitting and crumbling and she refers to the warranty stating this is normal. We signed with Patio pools in feb 2021 with the impression that the entire job would be completely hands off and to our expectations. Our friends who recommended/referred us are still awaiting the $100 referral (for a new pool) that was advised to be provided by the sales consultant. This review is being provided upon the documentation that Patio Pools has requested customer feedback. We had some special requests which were promised upon when we signed the dotted line that became a little blurry during the construction. We were made to believe we were receiving a quality custom pool but in the end we would say it's definitely custom but pretty standard in quality. The pool finish was very messy, stained numerous coping and pavers which the warranty team did address but we have also hired a paver sealing company to fix ones they missed. The interior finish wasn't as smooth as we had expected and just seemed sloppy to our expectation. To top it off, we had to brush our pool twice a day for a month in order for the finish to "cure" properly to not void the warranty. If we had an option for "Pebble-tech", allegedly that would not have been necessary. We did have many custom requests, a tear down of our old patio/construction of a brand new patio area and roof, a sun shelf, a bench around the one side of the pool and a raised spa. The hot tub and how the jets are installed were not explained initially and we were not aware that the therapy jets would be exposed on the exterior and are extremely noisy. We compared with friends who went with other builders and their jets were installed underground or away from the spa so they didn't have this issue. When brought up during the build we were advised this is how Patio Pools does their spas so just be aware if you are looking to install a spa. Please know that Patio Pools does make an effort to keep the customer happy but can only do so much within their control. They do contract out much of the work to other companies and you are required to check on them and make sure you ask questions or have them pick up materials as we had to ask Patio Pools to come out numerous times to pick up items that should have been cleaned up. The "final cleanup" that is supposed to be done before the interior pool finish is completed was done way too early on our build. It was done prior to the cage of the pool being installed which left us with aluminum metal shards on our brand new patio in between the pavers, trash and metal debris in the bottom of the pool, glass tile pieces in our yard, concrete runoff from the footers and pool finish. This was later addressed but merely subpar compared to what we had expected based on our conversations from a sales rep and the super intendant. The tile we initially chose we were later told that their installers would not install as it didn't follow the proper conditions, this was not an issue for us but we were told weeks after our initial choice and the week of the installation date. I did have to take a day off work to travel to 4 different tile companies in the Tampa area to locate tile that was in stock and not delay our build process. We followed up with numerous individuals in the company during our entire process and asked a ton of questions. I cannot stress enough to do your research and make sure to constantly check in on the progress to confirm you are receiving the items you ordered and envisioned. As for the retail store, everyone there is super accommodating, knowledgeable and helpful to all new pool owners! We are pleased with the end result, however if we hadn't felt rushed with making a decision on choosing a company before prices changed we may have gone with someone else. In-ground pool install with screened enclosure in the last 2-3 years. Patio did some things well and others not so much. Waiting 2+ years before writing my review provides a longer-term assessment of a significant construction project. This is the 2nd pool I've had installed in Florida (2 different companies). I'm not a pool expert. I am an engineer with years of process and quality control experience. I know how manufacturing works and I'm reasonably knowledgeable about pool construction. If I had a break from work, I would have seriously considered doing this myself (with help). The good: Sales (Matthew) - quoting & design assistance - electrical subcontractor - plumbing subcontractor - permitting process - very fast project start - mostly on schedule - resolution of cosmetic issues - dig/grade phase project manager (good communication and presence). After 2+ years, the pool looks good and hasn't had any equipment issues. The not-so-good:Damaged coping bricks - rusting cage screws - skimmer basket - pool cage subcontractor - pool dig depth and direction - acrylic deck coating - finish phases project manager (Matt). Specific items of concern: · Pool was not dug to the correct depth per engineering drawings. It wasn't visually obvious during construction but it's quite noticeable when in the pool. · Coping bricks were badly scuffed/scraped as subcontractor crews neglected to prevent equipment from dragging on them. There was no fix other than replacement which would have involved a tear down. Patio agreed to assist with a solution I proposed but it permanently altered the color of the coping bricks significantly. Satisfactory solution but this was 100% avoidable. · Acrylic decking looked great for a while. It has since cracked along the deco-drain seam and two years later, I have multiple large patches of acrylic coating lifting. Warranty is 1 year. This will need to be pulled up and re-coated at my expense. · Skimmer basket / floating Weir - not a genuine Pentair product. Weir would constantly get stuck and cause pool pump to choke out and reset. I replaced with a Pentair part and haven't had a single incident. Patio provided a knock-off part that was clearly inferior to Pentair. · Subcontractor crews used my patio furniture to rest on and left trash in an area of my yard that is designated as a preserve. This is not okay. · The engineering paperwork package was rarely referenced by any of the subcontractors. Some of the outcomes of their work reflected this lack of attention to detail. · My pool required a small wall due to yard slope. The cement looks rough. Instead of using plywood to form a smooth wall, they used 2" x 8" boards stacked horizontally. The boards were not even and the wall shows it. Trying to make the wall aesthetically pleasing is not an easy task. It looks lousy. I will be fixing soon as I cannot stand the appearance. · Project Manager - Final Construction phase (Matt). I usually avoid calling out anyone by name but this guy was a problem. He was rarely present and his crews worked unsupervised for most of the project. When he was present, he was rude. According to Matt, any concerns that were brought up during construction would be resolved as part of the warranty process. Fix it later when little problems become bigger. Genius. When a customer is dropping $50K+ on a project, you ought to be professional, courteous, and full of information. Matt was anything but. · Lightning Aluminum (screened cage): The low point of the project. Two guys took 4 weeks to install my cage and get it passed by county inspection. During a previous pool install, I had 3 guys install a larger cage in one day that passed inspection on the 1st try. Lightning was unbelievably slow and failed multiple inspections. Embarrassing. They used incorrect screw quantities in brackets and didn't bother to read the inspectors write-up to know what to fix. Cage doors have large bottom gaps and the gutters were routed poorly. I finished caulking the cage! Why are these companies putting screws that rust near any pool? Salt and chlorine are both corrosive. read more

The crew at Patio Pools were amazing to work with. Being the first time building a pool, I was very sketical and proceeded with caution considering the changes in the industry. From the first time I spoke with Matt Jr., I knew they were the company for me. Matt walked me through every possible scenario during the design and had an extreme amount of patience answering my million questions. Upon signing the contract and permitting the crew was immediately out to begin work. Through the process I was informed every step of the way of what to expect and what was going to be happening next. The site managers were always available by phone and even responded to my texts in the evenings. All the crews were sincere and had no problem with me asking questions. I was very pleased with the outcome. My only issue is a few of the pavers are rocking a bit after settling. Big deal. I'm sure guys will have no issue addressing this. I'm not even worried about it. After the build, i had pool school with JP. He taught me so much. This is my first pool so I was a bit overwhelmed with understanding how to properly operate and maintain the equipment. I was extremely confident when he left. And to make things even better, the guys in the store are amazing. Rob is practically a dinosaur in the industry and lets just say he knows a lot about pool chemistry and how to properly care for your investment. He was wonderful to work with. From the start Patio Pools felt honest and like they weren't trying to upsell and they designed exactly what we asked for. I also liked that it was a family owned and operated business. Every builder works with numerous subcontractors so the quality of those subcontractors and the relationship they have with the builder is important. I felt all the subcontractors (who often work for multiple builders) felt good about Patio and they said good things. That was reassuring when you think about a big hole filled with water adjacent to your house. Someone from Patio stopped by after every significant milestone to check on things. I chose Patio Pools for different reasons, however one of the main ones was about how passionate Matt my sales representative spoke about the family owned company. Matt explained every detail, answer many questions and made some awesome suggestions based on our needs. He talk me into getting a quartz finish because it was much more kid/family friendly and not so rough on our feet. We contracted with Patio Pools to refinish our 25-year-old pool. They sub-contracted with an independent contractor to do the prep work, and with Florida Pool Finishers to do the surface. The job was started in February. It is now September and our pool surface has dark spots all over it, and they're multiplying. Patio Pools was recommended to me and I saw all the good reviews. But, have been left disappointed. They resurfaced my pool, added entry bench, therapy bench, 4 jets, a new light, plus did my huge deck in pavers last year. One of the issues I have is flooding in my screened in patio (which has gutters) from the rain. I told them I needed excellent drainage. They installed a 2 in deco drain with a non-removable cover that's now filled with leaves. I've emailed and texted photos and videos and no response. I just want them to put in 4-6 deco drains which have removable tops. But, they are not responding. A jet is now not working and I sent an email today. Let's see if they respond... read more

DO NOT USE PATIO POOLS FOR A REMODEL. Run as far away as you can from Patio Pools. Worst company we have ever dealt with. We contracted with Patio Pools in November 2019 for a full pool remodel (add sun shelf, add in pool umbrella holder, refinish interior) and it's been nothing but issues ever since. Their contract (shame on us for trusting them) is so one-sided. Instead, we will likely be paying another local company to fix Patio Pool's screw ups. They will never show up on time, their sub-contractors don't show up on time and forget about their "warranty" because it's useless. I have dates and times of all communications with everyone from Matt to Jina in their office and NOT ONE PERSON is helpful or even useful in resolving anything. We have an umbrella that wobbles in any direction over 6" each way and frankly, looks rigged at best. They don't care that the work is shoddy and state that's what they install in all pools so basically, deal with it even though their own worker (Kenny) came out to see it and stated it didn't look right to him. The umbrella holder is missing a cap too but no one there seems to want to admit that either. The pool finish (which was blown by a subcontractor in the DARK literally) is rough in far too many spots and not even around tile edges. They came to smooth wavy stairs and a few of the finish areas one time and broke tiles while they were doing so resulting in our pool having to be partially drained again to fix tiles. We'd call them out again to smooth edges but we're scared of the additional damage they'd do. The finish coating is still (7 months later) a splotchy mess but every time we asked, we were told it takes time and will even out. I'm guessing at this point, that's not going to happen. No amount of daily brushing seems to help. We received a warning from the Hillsborough Environmental Protection Commission for how they drained our pool and kept the pump running to keep is drained for weeks and even after telling them what the warning was, they turned around and partially drained our pool improperly again. Overall, what I'm saying is this - DO NOT CHOOSE PATIO POOLS UNLESS YOU LIKE SUBPAR WORK, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND A USELESS WARRANTY! read more
