I first contacted Avalanche Harley-Davidson in Golden, but they couldn't get me in for over a week. I then called around to the other Denver-area Harley dealers and mostly got voicemail. Within an hour of leaving a message, Brad from Sun Harley-Davidson personally called me back, opened up his schedule, and got me in the same day. Not only did they replace my stator, but they also replaced my clutch pack--all with a complete turnaround time of less than three hours, in and out of the shop. The service was fast, professional, and very reasonably priced. The level of customer service, responsiveness, and genuine care was top-notch. What could have been a trip-ending breakdown turned into a great experience. As it turned out Sun Harley had mostly their wings logo in stock instead of the famous Harley Davidson logo (bar and shield) so we did not find anything to purchase that was on sale. We did purchase three shirts and two pairs of riding glasses. There were two women working the clothing side of the store and they were both super friendly. They offered suggestions and checked on us regularly with upbeat conversation. They made all of their customers feel like family. Sun Harley Davidson has a nice showroom with lots of inventory. I'd been looking for a Pan America, and like most consumers I had spent hours pouring over reviews, watching videos, and trying to learn as much about the bike I was interested as possible. Consumers have access to a lot of product information, so when it's time to get pricing, we want pricing...which can turn into an overly difficult chore. I had visited 2 other dealers on the South and West side of the metro (one decent experience, one not), and had pretty much settled on purchasing a PA from one of them. Day came and I was still doing some due diligence on pricing. Figured I'd call Sun to get some pricing info from them to compare. Steve answered all my questions directly. It is by no means the biggest one you'll see, however they do have a good selection of bikes, parts, and apparel. They also have a free breakfast every Saturday morning. I'm not talking cereal here folks. They do it up right. Eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, and orange juice!! How could you not appreciate that? I see a lot of negative reviews are for the service department. This review is for the sales guys as I have yet to deal with service, but that will be in the review below as well. These guys are the real deal... MSRP Dealership and not a DSRP dealership. I was contacting numerous dealerships looking for a used Fat Bob and this dealership had one at a descent price, so I contacted them. Note that I pass 3 other Harley dealerships just to get here and is about an hour drive from where I live. Sebastian called me right away and was very nice and helpful. I set up an appointment for the following day to come and take a look at the bike without any intention of buying. I get there and sit on the bike, but wasn't a fan of what the previous owner did with the paint. I started to browse at new 2021 Fat Bobs and started to like one particular color (Denim Green). I started to ask about fairings, side bags, etc, and he told me theres a bike with the same frame and everything with all the options I am looking for, and would be significantly cheaper than if I added all of those options individually to the Fat Bob. Sebastian recommended I went with the sport glide, but they didn't have the color in stock, but checked to see if they were getting one. I was crunched for time so I asked him to get me a quote on the bike and send it to me with the options of an upgraded exhaust, LED lights, etc. Later that evening he personally sent me a photo of a work order going over the price of parts and labor should I purchase that bike and even added a heavy discount to the buyers order. He then offered for me to come back and test ride the bike to see if it's something I even want to do. I come from a sport bike background and have never ridden a Harley or anything with forward controls. He even said that he spoke to the owner and the owner wanted to meet with me and show me around. I show up the next day and the color bike I wanted was in stock and I test rode that bike. Sebastian joined me on his own bike to show me around and that way I would feel comfortable. I am glad he did because I felt comfortable right away. The owner showed up and said hi and personally showed me around the entire dealership, sat down as they were penciling the deal, and even told the guy penciling the deal to give me great discounts and that he really wanted to take great care of me! They came back with a number I couldn't refuse including all parts and accessories installed. When I went to finance they offered a really great deal on a service contract that would save me hundreds to thousands of dollars so I would highly recommend taking that deal. I was in and out of the dealership including a test ride in the matter of a couple of hours. Very honest and upfront dealership, not pushy at all, they just want a chance to earn your business. I was with the family doing some Christmas window shopping, trying to get a feel for what my wife wanted (you know, making a list and checking it twice). Well, I was trying to keep a list of items that my wife wanted for Christmas. Gail happened to bay in today, and she is always a great help, anytime we have questions, or are looking for something in particular. Anytime we go in there, we always drop around $200-$300.00 in clothing/apparel. Now, usually I am on top of it, and take pictures of the items that my wife likes, but not this time (go figure). So as luck would have it, I didn't make it back to the store until a week later. And thank goodness Gail was working, I went to the location of the times I was looking for and the weren't there (I was freaking out). Gail came over, and thank goodness she remembered me. I explained what I was looking for, and where they items were located. Gail advised me that they had moved the clothing apparel around in the store, but was quick to tell me where everything had been moved to (Thank God). We both had a laugh, and I was able to get the items that I had come in for (with the exception of the new Street Glide that I had been eyeing), lesson learned, LOL. Due to a stupid accident in the garage, I found myself in need of a new front fender for my 2015 Limited (Black, a' course). Called Sun Parts and talked to a gent that got me fixed right up with exactly everything I needed and nothing I didn't. I Have to say that Sun H-D has the friendliest folks I've ever run into in any business, let alone a Harley Dealership - and I'm an old fart now and have seen quite a few, just so ya know! I picked up the parts and headed back downstairs and there was the General Manager AND the owner who very graciously introduced themselves, asked how everything went etc. I was treated like I was in the market to buy the whole business instead of the parts. Incredibly refreshing and gratifying to say the least! I can remember WAY back when, when that was the norm. It's been many a long decade since I've seen it, though. And again, this has to be the most extreme example of 'em all. If you're in the market for a bike, then I can't recommend Sun Harley Davidson highly enough. I bought my Limited from this Dealership and Reed Holmes, the Sales Manager, treated me just like I was treated today. Gave me a smokin' deal while he was at it, BTW. I have no experience whatsoever with their Service Department, so I can't speak for that. I do all my own wrenching, so I've never had the need. I have had my new bike worked on twice from the Sun HD service department, the 1000 mile service and a warranty issue, both times I was there the bike was done in one day, it was done right and the second time they must have adjusted the clutch which i was not thinking about, but the big clunk when putting it in gear went away. I've been to quite a few Harley dealers over the years and they pretty much all are similar. Each dealer has its own branded t-shirt stock which I've collected as I go on trips. Otherwise though, they're almost like fast food joints in the gear they have available. Sun HD is no exception. They have a large dealership that's separate from the main Sun Enterprises dealership next door. The dealer is large and airy. They stock the standard Harleys and Buells and have a few customs they've taken in trade. The riding gear is well stocked with leather jackets, boots, and even HD branded stuffed animals and kids sized shirts and jackets. I bought my Harley Storm boots from them and they're the best. I have going on 150,000 miles on my pair since I bought them in 2004 and they're starting to show their age a little. The parts and bike gear department upstairs is nicely stocked with Harley branded add-ons and do-dads for your bike. Chrome floorboards, 3' tassels for your handlebars, and fringed saddlebags. I brought my Harley Softail in for the 40,000 mile check and to have the seals replaced (I'd hit a big bump back in Virginia) and when I got it back, I was a little concerned because my right turn signal kept rotating clockwise. It turns out the mechanic that worked on the forks neglected to tighten the turn signal stalk sufficiently. I took it back primarily because if one nut is loose, there may be more. The shop did a fine job accepting responsibility and having a mechanic go over the entire bike, making sure all nuts and bolts were correctly fastened. The sales guys seemed a little unsure about the Buell stock and kept trying to steer me over to the Sportster even though I rode in on a Hayabusa and was really interested in looking at the Buell. I think they still have some animosity towards anything not Harley. read more

I recently got my license ( kind of a early bucket list thing) and decided to buy a bike. I went around to several stores looking, and looking, and not knowing what to go... get used? ... get new?... Harley?... Honda??? Ugh. My experience here was pretty good. I was shown bikes, we talked about new vs used and I fell in love with a Iron 883 - brand new. I HATE when I do that. Anyways, aside from a few small delays on MY part while securing financing, i had my bike in my drive at the end of the next day... which was a Saturday... which reminds me to say... Saturdays are very very very very busy... but it FEELS like a good kind of busy. Outside people were having a cook-out of some type.. and really just enjoying themselves. After final details on the deal, i left with a few H-D shirts, cleaner for my bike, and a hearty welcome to the club. People- strangers- were supportive and friendly- as I prepared to take off with my bike - and by that I mean my friends husband who drove it the 33 miles to my house because I was still a little hesitant to ride the freeway.... (baby steps)... making me feel really good about my purchase. So far, so good. I only got to take it out one Sunday due to heavy rains around here... but am looking forward to riding, and then coming back here for maintenance and apparel needs in the future.... read more

My salesman Walter and sales manager Mick were very straight forward with me in assisting my purchase of a motorcycle. They didn't play games with me like some other dealerships around town *cough AVALANCHE cough cough* Their shipping and handling fees are much lower that Avalanches, and their prices are not jacked up MSRP prices like Avalanche tends to do. Overall, one of the easiest vehicle/motorcycle purchases I've ever made. The sales staff went out of their way to make sure I was taken care of and found me the best rate on my loan. So I called Sun Harley Davidson and I was put on the phone with Chad. Right then I knew this was the place I was going to buy a motorcycle from. With the help from Dave B. And Chad I was on my new motorcycle in no time. My experience with the other dealership made not even want a new bike. The guys at Sun Harley Davidson really turned it that around for me. I would never again purchase anything from this dealership, nor trust them to service my bike. Sidenote: In what is going to be a VERY negative review, I do have very positive things to say about one of the sales associates, Reed. He tried his best to help me resolve my issue, and was great at communicating throughout the entire process. If at some point he goes to work at an honest dealership, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him as a great person to buy a bike from. So, the story. in November of 2017, I purchased a used 2017 Ultra Limited Low from Sun, with under 3k miles on the clock. Over the next few months, I brought it back 3 TIMES for issues with the front end. The front end was not correctly aligned with the front forks (easy to see when riding the bike), and the front end had a bad wobble when letting go of the handlebars around 40-50 mph. On the third time, I was told that the service techs had "torn the front end apart, measured everything and put it back together and it should be perfect". While riding the bike home, I noticed the alignment was still slightly off, and there was still a wobble. At this point, I gave up trying and assumed the problem was just a sloppy build from Harley (apologies Harley!!!). Fast-forward to November of 2019. I brought my bike into Pike's Peak for its 10k service. They noticed that the fork seals were leaking (covered under my service plan), and they said it would be fixed for free. When they took the front end apart, however, they discovered that the fork tubes had not only been scored by an incorrect installation of an air deflector (by Sun), but that the tubes were bent. I contacted Sun, and they not only confirmed that my bike had been in an accident, but that their own service department had performed repairs on the front end due to that very same accident. The big problem here is that at no point was the accident disclosed to me when I was purchasing the bike (illegal, immoral, unethical, dishonest). I wouldn't have bought the bike had I known that. In addition, their service department either lied when they said they tore the front end apart to fix it, or were so incompetent they failed to notice the bent fork tubes. So, I was offered a new set of fork tubes (Reed helped out in a big way with that), and although it took about a month to finally get them, Pike's Peak installed them for me as part of the service I was having done (guess what? Alignment is now perfect, and the wobble is gone...what a surprise!). During the time we were waiting to receive the fork tubes, I had asked Pike's Peak if they could put my bike back together just so I could participate in several rides my organization had going on. Pike's Peak informed me they couldn't do that because my bike was not safe to ride. So, due to the dishonest sales practices at Sun, I purchased a bike I never would have bought had the accident been disclosed, and I had been riding an unsafe bike for the past two years. I contacted Sun to give them an opportunity to try and make things right, and they refused to do so and even told me that had the owners been informed of the replacement fork tubes, they wouldn't have even done that. Sun knowingly sold me a bike that had been in a wreck without disclosing it, and allowed either liars or unqualified technicians to work on my bike, putting my own life and safety at risk, not to mention the life and safety of my passengers. DO NOT trust these lying crooks with your hard-earned money or your safety. read more
