This maybe the worst car dealership you as a customer could ever go to! My wife had her her AC condenser go in 2015 GMC Yukon that we are leasing. Yes a 2015! There service department for 7 days was telling us that the part was on a national back order. During these 7 days the weather had become hotter and we on several occasions asked if we could have a loaner car (anything with AC) because we have 2 young children. They said since the car was not under warranty that they could do anything for us and basically we had to deal with it until the part came in. The owner Patrick actually told me "if I were you I would reach into my pocket and use my credit card to rent a car". Now we're all not forgetting I'm leasing the car. They then went on to explain that they are already doing "Good Will" on the compressor since the car was off warranty. If anyone doesn't know what "Good Will" is give Patrick a call and he'll explain. I will have to admit that i voiced my opinion and use profanity This place maybe the most unprofessional car dealership I've ever dealt with in my life. It's funny since this happened yesterday I've spoken to 7-8 families in my area that have had a miserable experience at Sun in Wantagh. This place service is so terrible that my friends will drive from Massapequa drive right past Sun in Wantagh and proceed to Rockville Center to get their car serviced. They will promise you the world when there selling you a car then turn their back when as soon as you drive the car off the lot! Patrick is now accusing me of making a made up story about a Buick Lacrosse. Patrick then threatened me with a lawyer! Which I insisted he did! I still haven't heard from them. I have better things to do with my time than make false reports. This report has my name on it! Patrick and Sun GMC only offered to fix our car out of "Good Will" after I expressed my frustrations to him. Next he proceeded to call me 5min later to inform me that he had the condensor for my wife's car and that I could go to another dealership to get it fixed. He also explained that he would send the part to that dealership upon the dealership request. Amazing that after 5mins of a person expressing their frustration he has the condenser! I proceeded to call RVC who was very sympathetic since they have had numerous situations like this with SUN of Wantagh. RVC called SUN of Wantagh for the part and they denied to send it. I ended up in Wantagh because of 2 closer to me dealerships being everything people hate about car dealers. I am so glad because Andrew, my salesman and Dann our finance guy treated us amazing. Upfront and honest with a genuine care for customer service that I came to realize comes directly from Kevin the Sales Manager. He went out of his way to not only come by and talk to us but made us feel like we were visiting his home and not just his office. Customer service goes a long way with me. Anyone can sell me a car for the right price. Not everyone makes me want to drive an extra half hour out of my way and past two other dealerships but now I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. I live in Queens and had been looking for a GMC Terrain for a few months. We first went to North Bay which is the closest dealership to me and after finding someone who worked there they asked me what I was looking for. When I said we were interested in a Terrain the woman told us that they have none there and she promptly turned and walked away!!! I was totally speechless. That put a very bad taste in our mouths. We called another dealership which was located in Rockville Centre and were given some information and was told that they had them available if we wanted to test drive one. We decided not to drive all the way out there that night. It took us a while to get a day free to go test drive one but we finally had a free day together on Tuesday and we went to Rockville Centre since they were accommodating on the phone that time. We told them what we were looking for at which time the salesman brought one around to let us test drive it. He took a copy of our licenses and told us to go drive it and where to park when we got back? I have never had that happen! When we got back and said we liked it we sat down thinking that we were ready to get a deal done. When he started throwing around numbers that we knew were way out of the realm of possible we told them that we weren't looking to pay that much for a truck that shouldn't cost $385 A month? We told them thank you and headed out. That was almost the end of wanting a Terrain. We were done but I got talked into trying one more dealership that was in Wantagh. This is much further away than I would ever have gone otherwise but now I am so glad I did. Thank you to all those other dealerships for helping us get to Sun. read more

There aren't enough stars for this dealership especially if you are lucky have Robert (BOB) McKenna as your service advisor. He was incredibly knowledgeable and patient with all my questions. I have nothing bad to say about this dealership. I had serviced my 2014 Terrain in January and he helped me get all my parts covered under warranty and made sure that when I left it was in perfect condition. He took pride in saying he was confident that his crew took care of the problem, especially because he knew I was sending my car with my daughter in Buffalo. Well, couple of weeks later (about3) the engine light came on. I am not going to lie I was in shock. I told her take it to the local dealer I was sure it was a quick reset I knew Bob took care of everything. The dealership in Buffalo told my daughter that the repairs were well over $900 , I fell over when I heard this. I called the dealership he said that just to have it drivable it would be a charge of $300, but the car needed to be serviced ASAP. I drove over to Bob and he was shocked, he said NO WAY! He knew they were taking advantage of my daughter and me being far away. Bob took time out of his busy schedule and looked up every part and said these is 100% covered under warranty.( Guess the harsh winters of Buffalo got one up the Terrain). Needless to say he took the time to speak with the dealer and SHOWED HIM where to look to find the warranty. The car was ready by the end of the day and best part... I DIDN'T HAVE TO PAY! Any other dealer would have said I cant help you they have your car and they are authorized service centers. He went way and beyond ....if you own a GMC bring it here and ask for Bob he knows his stuff, and if you don't own one ...I love my car and this is truly the best dealership on the island read more

Barra, Please review this warranty claim as listed below, as this local GM dealer is refusing to honor the GM bumper to bumper warranty, and specifically told me to take the car to another dealer. The 2014 GM warranty clearly states that ANY dealer will honor the warranty, and it's not my job as a consumer to shop it around looking for some other dealer to repair the vehicle. Further, this GM service tech when on recorded with every excuse in the book for not doing the work: "Take it to the original dealer" We don't cover fit and finish" We cannot make a GM warranty claim on this work" "This is wear and tear" " the unit has an aftermarket modification" The car was sold "AS-IS, at time of the sale. "The original dealer was "funds" to repair this work" Clearly, this dealer had no intention of completing this warranty work. Further, this dealer has a written history of these type of complains on YELP.com and other web feedback sites. I just got off the phone with Patrick R. Cassino (Owner/President) at Sun GMC HUMMER in Wantagh and wanted to share how great the experience was. I called with questions about a Hummer EV purchase from another dealership, and ended up speaking with Patrick for over half an hour. He was genuinely a gentleman -- patient, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. What stood out most is that he wasn't trying to "sell" me anything. He gave me real, practical insight about the Hummer market, where these trucks actually trade, and what I should be looking for. He was transparent about pricing, explained why the vehicle was priced where it was, and even mentioned there's typically a little wiggle room and not to hesitate to ask -- which I appreciated. He even shared his cell number and stayed on the call while he was driving home and while he was home -- basically taking work home to help someone he didn't know, and wasn't even selling me a vehicle to...That level of effort and professionalism is rare. I would like to write a little about Sun Auto Group and give them the HIGH praise that they deserve. I bought my car from Sun Auto Group in 2005. Each and every time that I needed to bring my car in to be serviced I have been absolutely satisfied. Just walking in and being greeted by the nicest receptionist was always a nice start to my day. The individuals working in the service department were professional and friendly, and the owner Mr.Patrick Cassino was always visible with his staff and customers making sure their needs were met. My latest visit to the dealership was mid December due to my check engine light going on. It took them less than a day to diagnose the problem. I was given a loaner car because my car was not going to be ready for a day or so(all of which i was ok with). I would like to commend everyone at SUN BUICK/GMC. It all started out on July 1, 2019 just as a visit to a car showroom. From start to finish I received top notch service. I was treated with the utmost respect and I never felt pressured to buy anything. I was given multi options : Lease new or buy used/certified pre-owned. I am now the owner of a beautiful 2017 GMC Acadia SLT. Mike Kunz was the salesman who showed me several options, from leasing to owning. He explained pros and cons of both, and discussed the benefits of each. Kevin was the store manager, who was very helpful. He took me through the whole process with Mike. My husband and I have had horrible experiences with car dealerships in the past. With that said, we went to Sun GMC expecting the same treatment we had received in the past....but we were greatly mistaken. From the moment Rob S. shook our hands until the actual pick up of our GMC Terrain SLT, it was seamless. We were not there for hours, we were there as long as we wanted to be there. I picked up my SUV, and the transaction was completed in 45 minutes. We were not pressured ever by Rob, and not even by the Sales Manager Joe. Rob was beyond patient, he answered every question we had. He gave us his personal cell so in case we had questions when we left, we could call or text him. He had even told me when I picked up my Terrain, "you have my cell if you have any questions or problems with anything, call me". This was not my first GMC vehicle, however it was my first time buying a GMC from this dealership. My sales representative, Michael LaRosa, was patient and knowledgable about all the vehicles I was looking at. Michael not only took the time to explain everything I was signing, he also walked me through each and every feature my new truck has to offer (and there are A LOT of features) upon delivery. I've dealt with many car salesmen, and Michael, by far, was the best I've encountered. During my delivery, Matt and Roberto were also helpful and very pleasant to work with. There are no words to describe the kindness and competence of the service managers, mechanics, salesman (Nick Divone) and owner of Sun GMC. Late on a Thursday night I had several serious issues with my car and actually pulled into a random gas station for help. I called Sun GMC at 7:30 the next day; the service department had just opened. Everyone went out of their way to help, even providing me with an emergency tow number if I got stuck on the way to the dealership. Yes, they told me to come right in without an appointment!! (This was much to my relief as I had people in 2 different hospitals to attend to as well as jury duty.) It took several hours and the car was fixed. I just purchased a 2013 Buick Verano at Sun Buick about 5 weeks ago and had a phenomenal experience. Both Joe Gillespi and Patrick were a great help and gave me a great price in leasing my vehicle from the start. Recently my front left tire had a bubble in it and I brought it into the service department. After diagnosing the problem they took a look at it and said the tire would need to be replaced for $200. After discussing this with them, they said that since the car was extremely new they would replace the tire as a "Goodwill" tire and no charge.
