Went in on a whim to try and find a car during this crazy time. My current lease was due next month, and I had one more payment on it. Mike La Rosa was very down to earth and easy to deal with. He was able to get me into the car I wanted at a good price, and wasn't pushy what so ever. I left with a 2022 Buick Encore GX, as well as returned my lease and got the last payment taken care of. They also threw in a free oil change and inspections each year I have the car. When you go in to buy a car, you expect a normal car salesman. Walked in today to try to buy a new pick up, spoke with Roberto who clearly hit his quota for selling cars this month because was not at all interested in selling me a car. I told him I had a Charger to trade in, told me that carvana is offering me more and didn't want to take a look at it. Ran blanket numbers telling me that I had to agree to a price before seeing what my interest rates would be, therefore not knowing what my monthly payment would be. Kept plugging in 7.9% when I have stellar credit and would have gotten a better rate. I could tell that he didn't want to show me the car, wouldn't let me test drive it, said I had to schedule the test drive. I wanted to buy the car today and put 15k down. This would have been an extremely easy transaction, but I guess his time wasn't worth the sale. If you come here and are unlucky enough to deal with Roberto, ask for a different rep. read more

On Feb. 28 I make an appointment for my GMC Sierra for a check up some of the lights on the dashboard came on supposedly they couldn't find the issue even though they stayed with the truck for 3 days.. ask for a loaner and supposedly didn't have any loaner available so I was ok fine. today engine light came on so I Brought the car without calling them since Tim told me to bring it in right way when the engine light is on. Today he told me can't check the truck until Monday because today is Friday and the tech guy wasn't there. again I have asked for a loaner and he didn't have any loaner plus I didn't buy the truck from them that it's they policy. If I would have known this wouldn't even bother to bring my truck there for service since my truck is not a priority cause I didn't buy it there. We walked in to look at and test drive an Acadia. After looking at the SUV in the showroom, we sat with a salesman and he said we would "talk numbers" before we test drove. Why am I going to sit with you and talk about price when I haven't test driven the car, hence not knowing if I even want to purchase? I inquire about test driving before we get into the financials, and he said he has to check if there are any available to test drive. There were a ton of Acadias on the lot that day. Salesman says there are none available and we can come back the next day to drive the car. Our schedules aren't flexible to the point that we could go back the next day so we left and went to Robert Chevrolet. Honestly, the salesman not shaking our hands nor introducing himself prior to the 'no cars to test drive' incident turned us off of the dealership and GMC in general. Sun Buick GMC is a company that engages in unethical business practices and gives inaccurate information pertaining to my approval/credit. Within the last 12 month I was shopping for a 2018 GMC Terrain. I came to a deal and was somewhat satisfied. Two days later it was time to pick up my car and upon arrival I was ushered into the finance room. After 15 minutes of irrelevant/awkward small talk I was told the lease company "REQUIRE" me to full protect the car with Tire & Wheel insurance, key protection, extended warranty and excess wear and tear and my payment is now $100 higher. I have great credit and never heard of such demands from a lease company. I thanked him and walked out. I drove down sunrise to another dealer where I was to use the same approval and they actually shaved a few dollars off my original payment for the inconvenience and to show that Rockville center GMC is a trust worthy business. Please review all paperwork if you do business with them. Finally, don't be fooled by all the good reviews. They solicit only people that have had a good experience and actually incentivize the salesman with up to $100 for good reviews. It took a good amount of time to write this review in fear of the owner being belligerent and mentioning my personal, identifiable information in response to this highly honest review. Very friendly service and very professional. I was very happy the last time I came here because I had a minor issue and needed service on a Saturday but didn't have an appointment. I called at 8am and explained my situation and they told me to come in at 10:30 and they would get right to it. I had to wait 45 minutes but that's not too bad for no appointment. They are kind of pricey so ask for prices. The waiting room seems to be getting a renovation and is not complete but they did have internet service and a flat screen TV. that also have a little playroom with toys for kids. The counter too was not installed yet but it looks like they have a microwave and toaster that they will set up when it's complete. Maybe a fridge and coffee make will be added. My Chevy lease was coming to an end and GM Financial offered me the pull ahead service. Initially I attended attended Paul Conte Chevy in Freeport for a 2018 Silverado High Country. After sitting there for 45 minutes and getting absolutely nothing from there sales people I took a drive to SUN in Wantagh. Andrew greeted me very nicely and I made it clear to him, that I was not buying a car today, but am interested in leasing a Sierra 1500 SLT. He informed me that Denali's have better deals and much better incentives. I said lets price both! Andrew was fantastic to work with! Before leaving I said "I will be back tomorrow with my dad." I kept him posted through out the day which he was thankful for that! I was working with in a tight budget and he and the sales manager did everything in their power to make it work so i could get the Denali. After 45 minutes of negotiation, we came to an agreement on price. We began the paper work process and left the deposit. That night my father and I went home and said "wow a dealer that cares and puts their customer first." We planned to have the truck picked up that saturday! I was not expecting to have a full registration, I was expecting a temp. Boy was I shocked! that impressed me! That morning we finished the paper work, my dad left, and Andrew taught me all the options in the truck. As a 21 year old, I am not really big into technology, so he helped me for some time until I got the gist . I thanked him for everything and drove off feeling great. That night I returned to pay it forward, I greeted Andrew at his desk and handed him a card with a gift card to enjoy dinner with his family. I refuse to call Nick Divone a salesman. The images that word conjures up do this gentleman an injustice. And he is just that -- a gentleman. From the initial email I sent while snowed in, based off a family member's recommendation to a handshake and a wave as we drove off in our new Acadia SLE-2 just 48 hours later, Nick was on point. The guy does not sell. He consults. He informs. He educates. And he advocates; not for Sun but for his clients. He knew what we wanted and needed before we did. He treated me, my wife, and one of our sons with model professionalism and respect; even taking a genuine interest in our need for space for hockey bags and sticks, where we all play, and the Islanders. While Nick was busy (we arrived early for our first meeting) we were entertained by an equally cordial and friendly Kevin Bannon (sales manager) who helped us pass the time while Nick was occupied. No one tried to poach us away. Everyone was just so chill. We recommend Nick, Kevin, and Sun to everyone from all points of Long Island and beyond. UPDATE: Jan. 2017 When I returned back to this dealership to negotiate a new lease, 3 years later, Joe was no longer working in the sales department. I was dealing with a new salesman, who's name I'm unsure of, but he was not as helpful or as honest as Joe. There wasn't much transparency at all. I wasn't able to get all the facts and figures they were using to calculate the monthly lease price. When negotiating the sales person called the "banker" over who told me he was giving me the best deal. They tried to schmooze me and approach me as if I was their "daughter", they said they'd tell her the same thing. I left there and went to the Rockville Centre GMC (Morrissey) and left with a monthly payment that was $25 cheaper then what this dealership quoted me and there was transparency with the process. Reply to Patrick R. Cassino: (President) Congratulations Patrick on your record Month in December! You are correct about your facts, except a few don't seem to match my records: -The monthly price was not lower than my 2014 Terrain. "In fact" it was the same price, for less miles. Instead of 12k miles a year, I was offered 10k miles a year for the same price. Not much of a deal there, same price for less mileage. -If a sunroof makes the car "better equipped" then so be it, but this was not a must have for me, therefore I didn't want that model. And the full navigation, as you stated, I had already and have in my new one. -Just so the people know, GMC itself had the promotion of paying the remaining payments of the lease, whether it was this dealership or another, both had the same incentive therefore this wasn't "your" favor. And for the record, I had one payment left. -Let me clarify transparency: I wanted to know the money factor, cap cost, and residual value that was being used to calculate the monthly payment and that was not given to me when I asked. Therefore, I wasn't able to see how you got to the monthly payment accurately without this information. -As for loaner cars, lets ensure we make all aware that loaner cars are not given for scheduled maintenance. So unless something major went wrong, loaner cars wouldn't be available for the scheduled maintenance. Scheduled maintenance is something that GMC offers for the first two, no matter the dealership. -My time is valuable Patrick and I shouldn't have to return to see if you can beat a competitors price. I should get a fair price on the first try, especially since I was a returning customer and had such a great experience with Joe the first time. -Lastly, you say that Joe still works in your "sales department" but when I was there he was not "selling" the cars. Therefore he was not the person I was negotiating with. I saw him, said hello, but was directed to another sales person. Joe was not involved nor did he seem he could be involved with his new position. For the record, I do not consent to you using my personal information such as my full government name and stating that I live close to the dealership. Had to be the worse experience with a dealership. I had a scheduled service that they would provide me with a loaner car. When I got there, the loaner car was not there and I had to wait for it. The Enterprise driver came about 15 min later with a Yukon! I drive a small Cascada. How do you give someone who drives a small car a Yukon!. Of course I told them I could not drive this and had to go with the Enterprise person back to their shop to get another car. They were trying their best to find one for me but we had to get in the car again and go to another Enterprise location. P.S. 1 hr later I finally got my loaner car which made me late to my other appt. I called the dealership to say that this experience was unacceptable. I got a call from the manager who said to me that it was not their fault that I did not like the car. And I should be THANKFUL that they gave me a $60K car to drive. I said I would of been happy with a $20K car that I could actually drive.When I got back that evening to return the loaner car and pick up my car. Nothing was said to me that they did have a part and could not finish the job. The next day I get a text from the manager in all CAPS saying that they didn't order the part to finish the job because they assumed I did not want them to finish the job! What? We purchased a car from Sun in the past and had no issue. Our lease was nearly up, so we went in to look at new cars and spoke to the salesman, Joe, that helped us 3 years prior. We had some questions for him that we needed answered before we were able to turn in our vehicle and he said he would call us with those answers on Monday, but never did. Clearly our business was not important to him. We did lease a new vehicle, but we went to another dealership and received attentive and impeccable service there. Further, we had to bring our other vehicle, that was leased at Arnold Buick, in for service and chose to bring it to Sun because it was closer to our home. We called the day before to confirm our service appointment that we made online and were told that it was in the system. When we got there, we were scolded for making an appointment online and told that we should have known that the system was not working by Bob in service. We did get the car serviced, but none of the issues were resolved. The vehicle is still making noise and we were told we would receive a follow-up call, which we never received. Upon leaving the dealership, they asked us to mark excellent on any surveys we received. When I got home, I noticed that they changed the license plate bracket to Sun. I was fuming, as their customer service is poor and I do not want to drive around giving free advertising to them. We are looking to lease an Enclave in the next month as our current lease on our second vehicle is nearly over, but we will definitely not be coming to Sun. I can guarantee that. Maybe we'll look at the MDX now, since our money isn't good there. read more

I purchased a GMC Acadia from Sun Buick GMC of Wantagh 3 years ago. Recently the vehicle was having issues with accelerating and I took it to my local mechanic who told me it was a cylinder misfire. I called Sun on a Saturday and spoke to a woman who answered the phone. I told her what my mechanic had told me and asked if such an issue would be under warranty. She asked me some specific questions in regards to mileage and description of issue I was having. After I answered each question she put me on hold for 30 seconds or so and then came on after the last question and told me the car was still under warranty and I could bring it in. I asked her if she was sure that my specific issue would be covered. Her answer to me was "yes". I was thrilled. I had to wait 4 days for the next appt. The car was dropped off and was kept overnight while they ran "diagnostic tests" After trying for over 7 hours to get an answer as to what the issue was, I was notified that it was not under warranty. The service they suggested would cost over $300 to flush the fuel system and even then there was no guarantee it would solve the problem. When I asked why the woman I spoke to on the phone said it was covered, I was told by both their Service Manager and Owner that no one would have ever told me that over the phone. They both implied in no uncertain terms that I was being dishonest. They refused to hold themselves accountable for what the woman I spoke with told me. I believe their business practice consists of telling the customer anything they need to in order to get the car in the shop and then hope the customer will pay out of pocket for the repairs. As a result, I sold the GMC and bought a Honda Pilot. When the owner of Sun, Pat Cassino, found out about this through an online survey Sun sent me in regards to my visit, he felt it necessary to send me one of the most unprofessional emails I have ever read. He berated me in the email. Called me a liar and then proceeded to tell me what a horrible car the Pilot is. The email looked as though it was composed and written by a 12 year old girl who was having a tempoer tantrum. It should not surprise me however since the email falls straight in line with how he runs his business. I will never buy another GM product as long as I live and if anyone ever asks me why I will simply say, "Because of Pat Cassino at Sun GMC in Wantagh" read more

I brought my truck into Sun Dealership to perform an oil change and do some warranty work. Scheduling was easy and getting an appointment was simple. The truck is 15 months old so really doesn't need anything major, and did not buy the truck at this dealership. I did go there and got a lease quote on the same exact truck that was almost $90 more a month so I purchased the car at White Plains GMC. The car was finished on time and they repaired the minor issue and changed the oil....and also decided to change my license plate frame which is a bit ridiculous, why would anyone change my plate frame from White Plains to Sun is beyond me. Other than that good experience. If they wanted a Sun frame they should have gotten me the same deal on the truck when I bought it. read more
