Howard & Roe, they are sweethearts, I've made new friends…read more I was skeptical at first to take my Benz to a transmission shop other than the dealer but Howard being so patient & listened to my problem unlike any other car shop who would ask you to come & charge you for a diagnosis. Howard's a veteran in this business & know how to run his show. I was convinced & I took my car to Fred's. They spent almost 2 hours with me with the test drive, diagnosis & explaining me the problems I might have & gave me a couple of different solutions. I was convinced & came back end of the week & dropped it off. There were other aspects to the transmission other than just the actual transmission that needed to be fixed, Howard fought tooth & nail to get me the best prices on all the OEM parts I needed. At the end of the week, I took the car delivery. As he promised, the car drove like out of the showroom. It took its course to break in the new parts & get re-adjusted & re-aquatinted with the cars electronic modules. Today I'm happy to have Howard & Roe as friends. I happen to own a Burger Bar in Rockville Centre & it's always a treat to see my friends come for dinner & drinks. Did I mention to you that they also provide 2 days of free rental, so your on your way to work right away. The transfer case from Toyota was very expensive and he gave me another option on a used one. The truck only had 50k miles and he recommended me to go for a new one and spend the extra cash. I decided to use his advise and go for the new transfer case. Better Miles gave me a 1 year warrantee and both parts and labor. Thank you Leo, the truck runs great and I will stop doing 4 wheel drive donuts in the snow. This was an expensive mistake.

For months we were having the strangest leak (only under pressure and only after driving over 65 MPH, transmission fluid would leak and stop leaking once I drove slower). I have been having a local general mechanic service it with trial and error fixes. The time and effort, the back and forth to the shop, and the increasing lack of confidence in each fix was driving me nuts. On Memorial Day weekend, when the latest fix failed, I reached my tipping point and I desperately hit the internet looking for a shop that was opened to see if they could help. That's when I met Scott at AAMCO. While they were closing at noon for the holiday weekend, he said he would wait for me and take a look and that he should be able to diagnose the problem that day. He was honest and told me a fix would probably have to wait until Tuesday. I brought the truck in, they test drove it, diagnosed it and set a plan for the fix. I hesitantly left the truck over the weekend. They offered to keep it locked indoors for me until they reopened on Tuesday. Tuesday afternoon, I got the call that they were able to get the parts, and that the leak was fixed. Why the delay for my review.... well the truck is a weekend warrior, so I wanted to gt a few hundred miles on the fix before reviewing.... at high speeds and under pressure, she is leak free and driving great. In short... good people, great service, and they know their craft!!!! I have confidence in them, and you should too! I will be bringing the truck back for future repairs and upgrades!!!!

I was desperate and had to fix it. The time and price doubled! Every time I called I was hung up on by Pat or Nick would rush me off and say "I'll call you back in 5 minutes" and never called back. They were supposed to fix my transmission and the key fob wasn't unlocking my front doors when I came to pick up my car. I went to get gas and the inside of the door fell off. They blamed it on electrical work they claimed was recently done however I've had this car a few years and never had electrical work done! They took pictures of it I assume to cover themselves. I regret using Google, and not reading Yelp. I should've known better! When I mentioned yelps reviews Nick had nothing but negative things to say about their former patrons. He did a great job going through each part of the boat, asking the owner a number of questions to understand how the boat was used which gave him a better idea of things he should look at. Roger completed a comprehensive review of all the major parts of the boat, asked me what me intentions were with the boat, and the price I was going to pay. He picked up in a few items that needed to be addressed and was immediately able to tell me what the cost would be to repair them. I have used a number of marine mechanics in my years of boating, and Roger is one of the best. Very responsive, and very reasonable with his prices. I would highly recommend him for marine repair!
