Overall, I think Budget Blinds offers a good-quality product, and I've continued to return for that reason. I've now worked with Megan, the owner of Budget Blinds of South Pasadena, twice. While the product itself has been good, my experience with the customer service has been more mixed. I personally did not find Megan to be particularly warm or consistently responsive, and communication at times felt more limited than I would have preferred. I do want to recognize Lyn in the office, who has been much more responsive and helpful whenever I've reached out. I've really appreciated her follow-through and communication. Based on my experience, I would continue to consider Budget Blinds for the product itself, but if warmth, responsiveness, and a strong sense of customer connection are important to you, I would also consider speaking with another Budget Blinds location or provider.

Excellent service and a great experience!…read more Rick from Rick's Custom Shutters and Blinds helped me fix four blinds at my home in Irvine, and I couldn't be happier with the work. Rick arrived right on time, quickly identified the issues, and completed all four repairs in about 30 minutes. The workmanship was excellent, the price was very reasonable, and there was no pressure to replace anything unnecessarily. It's hard to find someone who is quick, professional, reliable, and reasonably priced. I'm very glad I found Rick and would definitely recommend him to anyone who needs shutter or blind repair. Great work, fair price, and excellent experience!

We first worked with Rick 6+ years ago when we moved into our home. He installed shutters in our bedrooms and office, and they've held up beautifully. I remembered how professional and on top of everything he was, so I reached out again when we needed blinds for our bedroom. Jeremy and Parker came out for measurements and made the whole process incredibly easy. They walked us through options, gave thoughtful suggestions, and provided an estimate. All in about 10-15 minutes. About two weeks later, they returned for installation and were done in under 5 minutes. Everything was seamless. The best part is how it turned out. It's exactly what we envisioned, if not better. We now have automated blinds in our bay window that give us privacy while still letting in light, and they look so clean in person. They even upgraded us to a system without a visible battery pack, which made a big difference aesthetically. Truly some of the best in the industry. Friendly, efficient, and trustworthy. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Thank you, Parker and Jeremy!

Although the price was somewhat reasonable, the overall experience reflected that lower cost…read more The installation felt unprofessional and poorly executed. It was a two-person crew and communication was difficult due to a language barrier (mandarin speaking only), which made it hard to clarify details or ask questions during the process. We did use Google Translate but it only went so far. My biggest concern is the inconsistent quality of the roller shade and blind installations. Some blinds operate correctly, but others shift when adjusting them -- the headrail moves up and down whenever the tilt wand is used. Instead of correcting the mounting, a temporary workaround was used that leaves the headrail sticking out about an inch. There were also measurement and fit issues. One roller shade cassette appeared to be incorrectly sized and had to be forced into place. Several shades are not evenly aligned within the window frames, with varying inset depths that are visibly inconsistent. Additionally, one of the roller shades fails to fully close, which suggests quality or installation problems. Overall, I'm disappointed with the workmanship and finish.

CEMAC deserves ALL the stars and positive reviews, they really came through for me with a recent…read moreLuminette shade repair when they weren't even the original installer!! I've been a loyal Hunter Douglas fan/customer for decades now and have had an overwhelmingly positive experience, but experienced a motor failure with one of my Luminette window treatments back in 8/2025. I contacted the HD retailer that I purchased the treatments from but learned that (1) it was out of warranty and (2) the Gen 1 motor/parts were discontinued as there was a "new generation" that was introduced in 2019. Supposedly, the only option was to order a new motor + track at $$ cost and attempt to reuse the existing fabric vanes. Based on that recommendation I placed the order for a new motor + track only to be told that due to a "parts shortage" the new motor + track would likely not be available until late 10/2025. This seemed suspect to me, so I reached out to CEMAC for a second opinion and connected with Gwen who informed me that she wasn't aware of any delays with orders and more importantly warned me that a new Gen 2 motor + track would NOT be compatible with my existing fabric vanes. Turns out that some Hunter Douglas rep may have provided inconsistent or incorrect information to my original dealer, but I obviously decided to cancel the replacement motor + track order immediately. I was then informed that my only option is a order a brand new system (motor + track + vanes) at a $$$$$ cost, which didn't make sense as it would end up looking.... exactly the same---such a complete waste of money and a huge disappointment that HD would not offer support for such expensive products. This is where Gwen stepped in to go above and beyond and the save the day. She was able to source a replacement Gen 1 motor directly from Hunter Douglas even when my original installer was unable to. Cost factor aside, it's also the practical and logical approach to attempt repair first as my fabric vanes were in perfect condition and it would be silly to unnecessarily replace. When the replacement motor arrived, we discovered that one of the components on the track was also damaged (likely due to the motor failure). Gwen proposed sending in the track to an authorized HD repair facility to see if it could be repaired, and only ordering a new system as a last resort. I SO appreciated this approach as it would literally save $$$$ (thousands!) if I could avoid having to order a new system. Happy to report that the repair approach worked and they were able to fix the track so that the replacement motor worked!! I had been living a fishbowl life for the past 3 months (every person/car that passed by could see clearly inside my kitchen/living area) but my exhibitionist Life of a Showgirl era is finally over! Endlessly grateful to CEMAC and Gwen in particular and will reach out to them first for any future window treatment (and it turns out flooring as well!) needs--highly recommend!!! ‍

The installation tech was also great, very professional and experienced. Everything went ahead of schedule. The installation tech noticed a minor issue with one of the blinds (which we did not even notice), and CEMAC had a new replacement blind made and the tech came back out and quickly reinstalled. This was all free to us, and we did not have to request anything - CEMAC suggested it to us because they stand by their products and workmanship. This is the kind of company I like to do business with. The blinds themselves look great and are super well-designed, we really like the options to open from the top or bottom, and we no longer have to deal with cords. Definitely recommend CEMAC as well as Hunter Douglas blinds!

She is professional, detailed, and wants to provide the best recommendation. I didn't know anything about blinds/curtains, but she took her time to explain everything to me. I went into the appointment thinking I needed to swap our existing curtains for blackout curtains, but she told me blackout shades would work since we already had curtains. In another room we had, we weren't sure if the shades would work, but she provided an excellent solution for the placement that turned out perfectly!
