If I could give them more stars, I would. I'm in the service industry myself, so I'm pretty particular about both service and quality. We first worked with Rick 6+ years ago when we moved into our home. He installed shutters in our bedrooms and office, and they've held up beautifully. I remembered how professional and on top of everything he was, so I reached out again when we needed blinds for our bedroom. Jeremy and Parker came out for measurements and made the whole process incredibly easy. They walked us through options, gave thoughtful suggestions, and provided an estimate. All in about 10-15 minutes. About two weeks later, they returned for installation and were done in under 5 minutes. Everything was seamless. The best part is how it turned out. It's exactly what we envisioned, if not better. We now have automated blinds in our bay window that give us privacy while still letting in light, and they look so clean in person. They even upgraded us to a system without a visible battery pack, which made a big difference aesthetically. Truly some of the best in the industry. Friendly, efficient, and trustworthy. I went to Yelp for bids for new Blinds for my living room which I had last installed in around 2001. I met with a few people, but Rich was the only company that had the same person come to my house who was going to both install and be responsible for the making. I met with someone who was a salesperson and who was not going to be there for the installation nor was this the person I would have to go to if there were problems Rick cost a little more, but I thought it was definitely worth it to be dealing with the person who was wholly responsible for the work. Rick was very easy to talk to, absolutely knew his inventory and his times and really spoke to my choices in terms of the material, the backing, the pulls and came back and did the install in about an hour. I am so happy I went with him. I was scared of a couple things -- the ball bearing pulls which I worried would look bad, and installing a blind on my kichen sink window. All of these worked out beautifully. I really love the blinds; they have helped keep the house cooler and with everything in the ikitchen and living room area covered, and backed with (a light colored) black out, can make the room very dark indeed. I found this to be the right solution for me needs and I would advise placing your trust in a company with the owners name on it and a small company that is going to have a lot to do to make the name as good as it can be. If I could give Rick more than five stars, I would. I was dealing with an issue with my motorized shades, and every other company I spoke with gave me the same standard answer: "you need to replace the motor" or "you need to replace the entire roller". Basically, standard high-dollar and wasteful replacement pitches! Enter Rick. Right from the start, he was incredibly responsive, helpful and attentive. Instead of pushing for an expensive upsell, Rick genuinely wanted to troubleshoot the problem. He took the time to listen to what was wrong, investigated the issue and made a few adjustments. It turned out to be an easy tweak - no pricey new motor or full replacement required. To top it all off, when it came time to pay, he charged me less than his original quote. The strings on our 25 year old blackout honeycomb mini blinds broke and even though they're old, ordering new custom sized ones was so expensive. Another great find, thanks to my fellow Yelpers! I scheduled an estimate with Rick and he was friendly, thorough, and clearly knew what he was doing. He had shutter samples and roller shade samples and walked me through the options. Rick printed out his estimate right then and there on his wireless printer and left with ZERO pressure...he said he would love to work with me but that he's not the type to hound me for business. He would wait for me to reach out. I full transparency, I had narrowed our search down to Rick and another reputable business, but Rick's warmth, and the fact that he is a veteran, really won me over. He set realistic expectations on ETA (the supply chain is so backed up) and delivered as promised. We ordered two rolling shades (which we love! They are so easy and let in light, but also give us privacy at night) and a bunch of poly shutters. The rolling shades took way less time to manufacture than the shutters (which Rick explained early on). Once Rick was in possession of the shutters, we scheduled an installation for two days later! Well, today was that day and Rick and his kids all arrived and set to work. They were all professional, friendly, tidy, and efficient. Rick checked each shutter himself and also demonstrated their durability and effectiveness against light. About an hour after they arrived, they were done! I'm sooooo happy with our new shutters and blinds and am looking forward to having Rick back to handle a few more windows for us! TL;DR: great family business with decades of experience.
