After I was quoted $575 for a front brake pad and rotor replacement, and $112 for a brake fluid flush, I was referred to Tony at Sun Auto. I called for a quote on a Monday, and on Tuesday, I was in the shop getting these items fixed. He was able to do both for $413, a $275 save for me. I stayed in the shop while they did the maintenance (free wifi and Dunkin' Donuts next door), expecting to be there for a good 2 hours. So i never and I mean never leave reviews for any place I have ever been to BUT! Today I was completely satisfied with the company and most importantly the employees. I had visited Walmart on SPM for an oil change and they completely told me they were not gonna stay late attend my truck (they were not busy and had 30 minutes left to close) so I googled the closest place to get an oil change and hit up sun auto service. I rushed in pretty much apologizing for getting in 20 minutes before they closed and asked if they could please help me out! Well the front desk guy named Adrian (being completely busy) fit me in plus they also gave me updates on my truck so I can get things fixed under the hood which I would have never payed attention too. I have gone to this location for years. Last time I was there, I had gotten a new vehicle and forgot to provide them with my wheel lock key. When I got there, I asked if they rotated my tires (I thought it was odd the never called and asked where the key was), Alan Corsentino (Service Advisor) assured me they did. I inquired about how that was done with wheel locks. He then became extremely condescending and arrogant towards me and my mom, who had also gotten an oil change with supposed tire rotation. When she inquired about whether hers were actually rotated , Alan said yes, without asking anyone in the back. When we asked how he knew that, he went out and asked. Apparently the answer was no, even though the invoice said yes. Adrian has always been great, there was another gentleman in there who apologized for their screw ups. However, Alan continued to be rude and his instinct is to lie through his teeth and become condescending when confronted. I called today to see if he still works there. I refuse to go back with him there. I guess I'll find somewhere else to go. I can forgive a screw up, but I won't put up with terrible customer service. read more

I consistently take my truck & my wife's SUV to Sunn for oil changes and other miscellaneous repairs. Over the last couple of years I've had them change my brakes out; front & back, diagnose my check engine light, balance my tires, and service my a/c. I've shopped around & used other places in town, but I seem to always end up back at their shop because I appreciate the honesty they bring to the table. They will also take you to a restaurant, appointment, or other nearby place to occupy your time if the repair will take a long time! I am thoroughly disappointed in start to finish from Sun Auto, first of all after two consecutive visits for the same issue I called and let them know the issue was still not fixed, they stated "Don't worry it's under warranty" now after returning for the third time I'm told there is a complete different issue which would lead none to believe they are terrible at diagnosing!!!!!!! Now $ outbid pocket I am truly convinced they are sloppy crooks!!!! After talking with Adrian I would recommend ownership send him to management school with a side of customer service! I have taken 3 of my cars to this place and have never had any problems. I was always treated well by Adrian Perez and staff UNTIL I had to deal with ALAN CORSENTINO. Not only was he unprofessional but he actually showed me prejudice by stating to me, "I don't mean to be mean but if you can't pay for this then don't have us fix it because I don't want it to be sitting here until you can pay".....I'VE ALREADY SPENT THOUSANDS of dollars here between all 3 cars....but now that my car looks beat up I am met with that crappy customer service. I ignored his prejuduics remark and asked if I could use an online coupon in addition to the other discount I already got and he sarcasticly replied, "what do you want the $59 or the $25 discount" he told me in a sarcastic tone so I reflected the same tone of voice and told him, "What do you think!" AGAIN, I've NEVER had any problems but I HAD to give this particular visit a 1 star because of this treatment. Also my car died right after I drove it from their facilities for under an hour and it died 2 times and then began to overheat. When I tried to ask Alan for help I also used the wrong word 'head gasket' vs valve cover gasket and he was quick to get and correct me in an unprofessional manner. Great service! These guys were super courteous and honest. I thought I was going to need major work done on my car, another shop told me to take it to the dealer. These guys looked at my car and said all I needed was the bolts tightened. Apparently, after I had the breaks replaced, at another place, they hadn't tightened the bolts correctly. Sun Auto fixed it and charged me almost nothing! That was over 6 months ago and my car is still running perfectly! I probably should've written this review a while ago!! read more

Had a service package performed(fluids and filters changed)-quick and great service. Got home and put my papers in the glove box and decided to check the cabin air filter(not sure why) only to realize it had not been change, then checked the motor air filter to realize it had not been changed either, called and spoke with staff and had to take back to have fixed. It's hard enough finding time to go in once, much less repeat trips. Will have to decide if I will return in the future. read more

This guys are crooks. Took my truck to get a simple inspection. They end up failing it for rack and pinion leak. It had a power steering pump recently replaced, and it was still a bit damp from that repair. No problem. I cleaned it off with degreaser and took it back in. Now they say it is the power steering pump, which I thought was strange because it hasn't been leaking at all, and I check everyday. So I took it to my guy who did my power steering pump. It turns out, many shops try to go this to people. They know you need an inspection, so they hold you're vehicle hostage. He took it to a shop that just does inspections, and they passed it that same day with no repairs needed. Moral of the story, never trust a shop that does full service and inspections. read more

Great service! My son and I took his car in with a steering problem. It had come to the point that it was dangerous to drive. They gave an estimate with options. This is something I appreciate. I could choose to replace the tie rods and steering components, or I could include the rack and pinion( which was leaking fluid). I decided to fix everything in question. At the time, I was told that the control arm may need to be replaced in the future. After the repairs were made, I received a call. It appeared that all the repairs were necessary, but there was one problem. The car still moved to the right while accelerating. After a reasonable explanation, I was told that they were willing to work with me on price in order to make it right. For about $80 more, they would replace a control arm (this is a great deal). I said yes. When I went to pick up the car, I found out that they had replaced both control arms. Total over estimate: about $140 over the original $1935. In my opinion, $1935 was extremely reasonable. The car maneuvers like new. This is the best experience I've had with a mechanic in Austin. Honest, precise, and on time. I have to give a big "Thank You" to Adrian at Sun Auto. This guy went out of his way to help me. Took my old 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee in because it had a power steering leak. Come to find out the jeep has a hydraulic fan that is powered with the power steering fluid. This guy searched for over 2 weeks trying to find me the part. No luck it only comes from Mopar. So I agreed to the price and it was pretty steep from the factory that part was 1250 plus labor up charge etc. anyways long story short I agreed to the price but was heart broken to have to invest so much money. Left the jeep while I went on vacation broke!!! Ha ha anyways get back and call Adrian to check on the jeep. Well he never gave up searching and found me the part gave me the same warranty as a new part for less than half the price!!!! Jeep is running well and I saved over 800 bucks thanks to him. Adrian has earned my loyalty and so long as he is there I will take all my repairs to him!!!! Thanks again Adrian for going the extra mile even after you had gotten the sale. My girlfriend's Miata broke down across the street at my apartments so we pushed it over to Sun Auto. They were extremely busy but could see how distressed and sweaty we were so one of the front desk men offered to try and start the car to see if he recognized the sound. He said there was plenty of fire but they would need to run a full diagnostic to find the issue. This would have been $89.99, which they said would go towards the repairs and parts. I was trying to move that day and they said they would need the car over the weekend. I thanked them and declined. They gave us water and let us rest in their A/C whilst we waited on our ride to pick us up. We weren't excited about pushing the car back up the hill to my apartment but before we even walked outside, they offered that we can keep the car parked there over the weekend or until we get a tow. Relieved, we left and came back the next day to the car starting, probably a flooded engine. We didn't have to pay a dime for towing or repairs because of Sun Auto's customer service. The last time I got my oil change here(had an appointment) it took 2 hours! They were friendly and close to where I live so I thought I'd give them one more shot....just as bad this time! It took longer than it should have, even with filter changes. They also talked down to me a lot and assumed I had no auto knowledge since I am a younger female. My father used to own an auto repair shop so I know how things are run and quite a lot about vehicles. Not great, so I reschedule for a few days later at 10am. Usually when I go service is good, but this time I went in and Abraham was rude. I saw a sign that said $5 off if you check in using yelp. Well 20 min ago I didn't know how to do this so I asked Abraham and he said "I don't know how to do that". I said "what do you mean you don't know, you work here and your advertising it?". So he said well I don't know, I can't help you with that it's part of the Internet. He said I can give you $5 off if you check in though.. Ok... But you can't help me figure this out. I swear last time I came here I got an oil change and thought I was going to get a tire rotation as well because it's included. I waited an hour and 30 minutes because I didn't make an appointment but I didn't want to wait again for them to do my tire rotation that they forgot. So I left. I came back today with an appointment and I came 10 minutes late and I still have to wait 2 hours and I ask them when they were checking me out did you do my tire rotation and they said yes. So I went to my car and I went and look at my tires and every single tire was in the same place I didn't have time to go back inside because I was late for work. So I called them while I was driving to work and I asked why didn't you do my tire rotation you told me you did. They said I'm sorry we were busy so we just did the oil change so I asked it took you 2 hours to do an oil change and they said no it's because you didn't make an appointment. Well I had an appointment but it still doesn't make it right if the tire rotations included in your oil change plan and you're saying that just because you were busy you couldn't do that as well you just wanted to do the oil change? He said bring back the car will do the tire rotation when you have time. Well not all of us has all the time in the world some of us actually have to work a lot I'm going back Monday and hopefully they can be at least honest with me. read more

Such a frustrating experience!!! I show up to an empty waiting room and two open bays for an oil change and a state inspection. An HOUR AND 15 MINUTES LATER, the manager sits down next to me in the waiting room, showing me estimates for $1,800 worth of needed work on my 4 year old Tahoe. Of course, he has a great deal and discounts he can throw in...I'm obviously caught by surprise, mainly because I felt like I should've been out of here at least 30 minutes ago. He took me out to the bay where my car was jacked up with THE TIRES OFF. Never did I even give permission to remove my tires! I needed an oil change and an inspection! After letting me know that any point, my car would die and I'd have to "call my husband to pick me up". I declined any additional work, needing to get out of there to pick up kids from school. Seemingly frustrated, they put my car back together and began the actual work I came in there for. When 2 hours hit, I was outside, trying to make arrangements for child care. The manager came out and said one of his "slower techs" was on the job, he apologized and said he would come my oil change. When checking out, I paid for the inspection and the "comped" oil change charge of the coupon price, although charged the full price. So, I was still upside down on the price. At 2 hours and 20 minutes, I left the empty shop with a new squeak in my car that didn't go away until I had it repaired by another mechanic. Never, ever, ever will I go back to that place! Out of the blue my Ford Expediton died on me coming into Cedar Park last night. We have always taken both of our older vehicles to Sun Auto in Cedar Park for repairs. Less than 2 month ago our Truck had issues and they repaired it without sticker shock for the final payment. I dropped it off at 7:00 am with Terry and he had one of the employees drive me to work 35 minutes away so I did not have to miss a day of work. By 10:30 am I had the diagnosis and plan to pick it up today after work. Again no over whelming sticker shock and a company willing to work within your budget. To my surprise their inspection machine was down, so ok just the oil change but I would have to come back after inspection bc that was a bigger priority for me. Guy at counter told me his cut off time is 4pm for oil changes. You close at 6pm but your cut off time is 4pm?, I would even understand 5:30 but that's pushing it. Waste of time. read more

I have used Sun Auto for over 6 years for my auto needs. At first I was attracted to their low oil change prices. But over the years, they consistently have saved me money, always letting me know when a repair would probably under warranty and could be done for free at the dealership. They will help develop a plan to prioritize repairs that are needed immediately, what can wait, what can be done cheaper in the meantime, etc. They have even worked with me over the phone when I was 1200 miles away on one of my many road trips north.
