    Soft Shell Crab Bao

First time trying this after doing a quick Costco run. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a great venue, we liked the decor, Asian vibe and lots of room.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's some cute crane capture games on the side.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You can order at the front display near the entrance or at the counter. They have a great selection of ramen, baos, appetizers and burgers. I forgot to mention they have a nice selection of drinks beverages and ice cream as well. Check them out, if you're in the area, also the staff working there are amazing friendly and even help the ppl who don't know how to drive, park their vehicles safely. We tried their truffle fries definite winner, Raging Shrimp Bao (lil spicy), Pork Belly Bao, Softshell crab bao (crab is huge), shroom burger, we also had some Ube ice cream for dessert. Yup we smashed it! Will be back again soon

[[HIGHLIGHT]]An OK type of place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It seems to be a new place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu has way too many things on there. Maybe they should focus on what's they are best at the not trying to offer everything under the sun. I got the Yuzu ramen, and liked what I got. It's not the most amazing ramen you will ever have, but it's decent enough. The meat was excellently done. Others got the burger and they are slightly disappointed.

Had the Pork Belly Bao--the bread was incredibly fluffy and tasted great. The black garlic tonkotsu was rich and flavorful. Service was friendly and fast, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the place itself was small but clean and well kept.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Will definitely be back.

Here we go another Bow bun and Ramen place and they have burgers too, so I had the bow bun with the shrimps. I also had two curly fries with seasoning of barbecue and it was really good. Also, their spicy mayo was really delicious. It was good but just a small warning bow bun is Sweet that is new to me. It's more like a sweet roll than a bow bun. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior is nice not too bad, very clean, very friendly and attentive staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was really hungry so this time I didn't take pictures, but I will take pictures from the interior.

Food (4/5): The food was good for this type of cuisine in a fast casual setting. Service (4/5): Friendly staff at the front counter. Atmosphere (4/5): [[HIGHLIGHT]]Japanese aesthetic in a fast casual setting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They had some pretty good music playing which was a nice surprise.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] What I liked best: The variety offered at this location.

The boa was so amazing and flavorful! I could definitely tell the boa bun was homemade! Super fresh. The ramen was very good! Coming from an Asian area where ramen was top notch, I give my stamp of approval for this ramen place! Was pleasantly surprised! The service was great and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the ambiance was great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We will be returning soon:)

In the mood for a hot bowl of noodle soup on a rainy day, we stopped in for some ramen after seeing they have black garlic tonkotsu which is my favorite. Walking in the interior is bright and spacious and we were welcomed in immediately. There's plenty of seating for small and large parties including counter seating facing the window. I wanted to try everything on the menu including bao buns, round baguette banh mi, burgers, and fun appetizers. The staff member at the counter was very friendly and patient as we browsed the menu. He asked if I wanted my ramen spicy and of course I said yes. I also opted for a pork belly bao bun because I can never resist one. The food came out fairly quickly but it was a light week day dinner crowd. The ramen looked and smelled amazing. The taste? Yes. The chasu was tender and the portion was enough to satisy. The noodles were a nice texture and the broth was rich and flavorful. Loved the toppings that included corn, bamboo, spinach, fried garlic, and two jammy egg halves. I inhaled it. I would definitely come back for another bowl. The pork belly bao bun, which they call sumo sliders, was ok. The bao buns were thicker than what I'm used to but I suppose makes it more filling. I would definitely come back to try the other items but I want ramen again! Kinda pricey but they're offering a 20% discount at the moment.

This new family-owned Bistro blending Asian dishes with Smash Burgers is a delicious addition to the local food treasures in the Alliance area. The menu is a colorful collision of familiar and unfamiliar, the kind that insists upon being explored. We have tried the Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen, rich with ingredients and flavorful. My other half likes hers very spicy and had to ask twice or additional chili oil to bring it up to her level. Fair warning we were charged $1 for each spice level. We also tried the Spicy Miso with corn. Spice level was also relatively mild. The Tokyo Lights and Shroom Burgers are both outstanding. The bottom of the bun is slightly toasted, which helps hold the ingredients. Both have complexity, making each bite slightly different. Of the two, the Shroom Burger pulls slightly ahead for me. The burger itself was not enough for me, so I added Cajun curly friends once, and the sweet potato waffle fries another. Both were good, not great. I would have liked them slightly less cooked. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is the prices seem a bit high. Each add on costs something and there are no combos. So A burger and dries will be $15-$17 or more. The Bao Bun sandwiches are delicious, utilizing a steam-cooked bun stuffed with ingredients. Though not enough for a meal, they are worth a try for sure. I recommend a couple as shareables. If you're reading this in November 2024, they are offering 20% discount on the ticket until their grand opening. Highly worth a trip!

This place was previously Char'd Kitchen. I'm so glad they have a Vietnamese-Japanese fusion eatery now. First off, I really miss the popcorn chicken from a good boba place. I haven't really found a favorite in Fort Worth yet. The popcorn chicken looks on the paler side, but don't be deceived. Once you bite into them, they're so delicious! I usually eat steamed bun with my Peking duck, but this takes it to another level. The sumo's butter bun was so fluffy and soft. I would definitely save stomach room for something under that category. If you're a fan of banh mi, I would get the VN grilled pork baguette bun. It's a good size, but not as large are your typical banh mi. There are plenty of seating inside. They make their food fresh, so there may be a little bit of a wait after you order. I definitely need to stop by again soon.

If you've had Bao, and Ramen before...unfortunately Sumo Smash does not fit the bill. I was excited to try it, but overall the flavor profiles were weak; seemingly tempered for a bland palette lacking depth, and the value was poor. Bao - The buns themselves were very plump, thick. They were tasty. However the actual contents were poorly flavored. Example, shrimp were miniscule and the spice profiles was clearly...tobasco. That's the hot sauce they also had by the soda fountain. It's an Asian place....wth?! no Sriracha? Chicken had a good flavor. Soft shell crab tasted like fryer oil. Ramen - felt like they didn't make their own broths; chilli oil was not "spicy". Very little flavor depth. The pork belly was decent but incredibly thin slices. If youre looking for an authentic taste this place is going to absolutely disappoint you. Even Jinya a National chain tastes better. Hope they realize that they don't need to replace western flavors to attract locals. We need the real stuff.

Sumo Smash in the Alliance area has been open for two weeks, and wow, we're definitely going back! There are a lot of modern twists to vietnamese classics, which I absolutely love! The VN grilled pork baguette bun looks like a sandwich bun but tastes like a crispy banh mi. And let's not forget the loaded smashed baguette which has mayo, pork floss, Chinese sausage, and the iconic sweet and spicy chin su sauce. Yum-my! We also got the suMo...zzerella, spiral fries (had amazing salt and pepper with grated parmasan on top!), the lemon grass tofu sumo slider, the shrimp katsu baguette bun, the sumo pro, and the k pepper cheesesteak. The ice cream looks like a collaboration with Sugar Crush, we tried the matcha and banana pudding. Everything had great flavor and texture. We're excited to return and try out the ramen and other offerings!

This did not affect the quality of the food as it was very pleasing to look at as well eat. My partner and I began our meal with the karaage. At first glance they looked like fried chicken bites ,but were actually very tender and soft to chew on. The sauce with it was also very good to pair with the chicken. The ramens were packed with the flavor. Our choices were the to tonkotsu and spicy miso. The tonkotsu was super flavorful and I loved the bits off corn and I added minced pork for extra texture in the soup which was a great choice I would do again. The noodles were thinner than other ramens I have tried but still were very yummy and cooked well. The miso was a thicker soup with thicker noodles and the spiciness wasn't overwhelming. Both bowls were very full and we had left overs to save for later. Overall I enjoyed everything about the restaurant and I would recommend others to come and try it. I will definitely be back.

They even have Korean street foods such as tteokbokki, pancakes and buldak stir-fried noodles. Along with my ramen, I ordered the sweet and spicy chicken karaake. The texture of the meat tasted like a meatball or ground chicken. While I liked the ramen in general, the soup was a bit on the salty side and that's coming from someone who likes her food salty. My friend didn't think so and literally slurped her bowl to the last drop. I will likely return to try other items on the menu, especially with it being so close to home. It's located in Hurst in a little strip mall that's mostly empty but you can see the concentration of business and cars in the corner on the side where this restaurant is, when we first walked in we both noticed a bit of a strange smell like I would describe as mildew and I think that's because they were running two portable air conditioner units inside so I don't think this is something that's on the regular and after we sat down neither of us noticed it again. As we walked in I also noticed That this place has a nice little cozy feel to it with some interesting decor, beautiful paintings on the wall and kind of an old school feel which I enjoy, there's an upstairs section that's pretty cool looking also where you can have private events or family style gatherings. Right off the bat the service was very friendly and attentive, we ordered two appetizers the shrimp Yakitori and an order of the pork and vegetable egg rolls both appetizers were fresh and delicious, I also had upon the servers recommendation their honey lemon ice tea which was very good. It was a terrible pourer though, but the waiter warned me and put some napkins on the table to clean up. The ramen was quite disappointing, I know how spoiled I currently am with the memory of Ichibahn burned into my brain, but...these were quite pricey and not that good. The broth was lightly flavored with little depth, the beansprouts and corn (why are these in my ramen?) Moved the flavour profile even brighter and there was quite a lot of green onion.
