I cannot tell you how much Summit Urgent Care not only helped me, but seemed to truly care about my health. They never made me seem like i was just another random walking in and it felt more like a general doctor office versus urgent care. I get the vibe most urgent care facilities want you in and out as quick as possible. This place made me feel like I was a human being. They listened to me, gave me a ton of feedback and truly tried to cover everything when trying to get me better. I had gotten really sick with that nasty whatever respiratory infection going around right before Christmas (oh I know, wonderful right?) fast forward to this past Wednesday Jan 14 when I went in. Mind you, I've already seen 2 other doctors and went to another urgent care prior to this. I'd already been on meds which didn't help. I hadn't been able to lay down to sleep in almost 2 weeks (I'd wake up coughing not able to breathe well). Long story short, I was super sick. I came in and was greeted by a wonderfully friendly staff. I'm sorry, I didn't get their names but they were wonderful. I was taken back (gosh I wanna say her name was Crystal? I'm sorry, I was still yucko and not remembering right) and immediately they got to work asking questions and truly listening. Some places make you feel rushed and cut you off. They listened to everything. I was given an xray, breathing treatment and a swab up my nose for testing. They also tried to offer a shot that would also help me, but I declined. They were super sweet about it though. Tried to persuade me but in a friendly way and when I still said no, they didn't make me feel bad about it. No judgment whatsoever. After my treatments I got some new meds and a plan. A special shout to Dr Michael Gales because he was one of the nicest doctors I've met in a while. I wish he were my regular doctor! You know how doctors offices say they'll call you back, they ACTUALLY CALLED ME BACK! Dr Gales called me with my xray results and even asked how I was doing after my treatments I had. Today, he called me again with my results for my nose swab. I genuinely felt like he cared I was getting better. Although I'm not all the way better, I was finally able to lay down to sleep. I'm telling you, it's the small things in life we take for granted. To literally everyone working at Summit Urgent Care, thank you so much. So very much for caring about me and trying to get me better. I wish I could write thank yous to every last one of you. I hope I don't need to see you guys frequently, but if I do at least I know I'll be getting the utmost support from a wonderful team. Would beyond recommend them to anyone out here. I took my grand daughter(12 yrs old ) there a couple of weeks ago, I didn't like the Dr. then wasn't very professional asking me questions, I looked at the Dr and she she can answer your questions which was fine, so I need to get my knee looked at and saw the same dr don't like her then and didn't like her now very unprofessional I have something in my knee looks and feels like a gel bubble the dr looked from a distance didn't feel it and said you need to see a orthopedic dr, I can give you someone , I got up grab my purse and said nope I am good and walked out. I was so mad I called and spoke with the "office " manager and she wasn't any better it felt like she was just passing the buck! If you need to go to an urgent care skip this one ! Each and every time I come here I am greeted by a friendly staff and wonderful Dr. The Dr doesn't rush you off or brush off your concerns like other urgent cares. I was first met by the friendly office staff. I had injured my toe and was panicking because it was a Friday. I looked up an office I could get to after work. I was in and out in 20 minutes with extras and a prescription! I received a follow-up text to review the medication and I had my antibiotics in hand by 7pm. I have never been to an urgent care as exceptional and wonderful as this one. From the first moment we walked through the doors into the waiting room until the moment we walked out of them I felt me and my little one were treated with kindness, understanding, and genuine care. The receptionists were cheerful, helpful, and accommodating. The facility itself was clean and all the furniture + medical equipment + beds seemed new. Our wait time was only about 20 minutes which included the 3 pages of forms to fill out and sign. They have a TV on in the waiting room to pass the time while you wait to go back. The nurses and doctor who interacted with us were professional, gentle and patient with my little one (who was the patient visiting the clinic). The doctor was very quickly able to diagnose the issue we were there for. Since we are new to this area she also gave us a list of pediatricians she recommended as well as their contact info. I appreciated that extra care from her. I highly recommend this urgent care, especially for children. read more

Progressively getting worse. Was greeted by the reception trying to diagnosed my son by 3 symptoms (fever, vomit, earache) " he is probably dehydrated and we don't do IV so you may want to go to ER. First off, I am here to see a doctor , if I wanted non- trained advice I would have "googled" his symptoms. Then they let a patient who checked In after us who said " hi I am well" to the nurse, umm we were here first and his symptoms take priority. I do not recommend this place. read more

Went there for an urgent care problem recently and here are the pros and cons: Pros: Front office staff friendly and professional Front office clean as was the back office Wasn't busy at the time, so short wait time Back office staff friendly Cons: I didn't see anyone wearing a name badge and the provider on duty (I'm assuming) didn't introduce herself. Did I see an MD, NP, PA ....janitor??? Who knows? I did get her name, but only after I asked, and she introduced herself by first name only. No post care instructions. How do I care for this injury, what to look for, etc. Although this is common sense to many....its good to go over to remind us and what to expect. The office text after leaving indicating I was just seen by "so-in-so's" office and these are the prescriptions ordered. I thought I was at Summit Urgent Care, should have indicated this in the text. Recommendations: Name badges ! Back office staff introduce yourselves, including the provider! Communicate after care instructions, when to follow up, etc. Overall, the care is what I expected, just a little "sloppy" to me. Fortunately I know what to do and expect as a retired health care provider. read more

Went there today for medical. Very impressed with my experience. I had no appointment. Was a walk in. Check in was very simple. Didn't have to wait very long to see the provider. Provider was very thorough and caring. Listened to all my questions and concerns. Everything was explained and I had no questions when I left. Would come here again for sure. read more

2 hours 10 minutes with a sick four year old. Consultation was 5 minutes at best. I don't expect miracles but I'm still here and probably have to head to pharmacy for another hour. Is the norm? The solution is to stay healthy, this health care system sucks big harry b...s. The staff is cool. They try to move it along but they work at the mercy of the doctors. 2 hours 15 minutes total time. I really appreciate all of the staff and doctors at Summit. I'm legally blind (80%), 6'7" and have Aspergers and ADHD and have found most doctors won't just *listen* to what I'm saying, because they pre-judge how I'm presenting the information and tend to ignore my words. This has not been my experience at Summit Urgent Care. I've had to see them for a variety of issues over the years, I'm on disability and don't have a GP so I just go there when there's a problem. Their physicians and staff are incredibly empathic people who listen to what I'm saying and are excellent at communicating. I can tell they really care about me as a person because of they way they take the time to explain things in detail when I ask questions. I never feel like they're annoyed by it. I wish I knew all of their names. I know one doctor is Michael Gayle (sp?), and he's awesome. I was uncertain what my ekg results meant, so he grabbed a piece of paper and had me get my face down really close to it so I could see him sketching out a diagram of a heart. Then the chambers, muscles, how the electrical signals work, that the heart changes electrical states when contracting and expanding, sketched out how that forms the rhythms and then built on that to show me exactly what the results meant, circled the issue on the readout and related back to the drawing till it was crystal clear exactly what was happening and how it was happening. I'm not used to people taking the time to communicate so well, so when someone does it really stands out to me. I could tell he genuinely cared that I understood it. The other physician I've seen there is amazing, easy to talk to and has a motherly type of vibe that I find very comforting when things aren't going well for me. She'll take the time to get any extra information she might need and I don't feel rushed. I think sometimes I may prattle on a bit but she is very patient and diligent. The person who did my ekg today is very friendly. No matter what is going on she seems to see the person through the problem. A couple years back I wasn't "as good" at being blind as I am now. The world was a very scary place and I was having to re-learn to navigate it at 40. When getting down hallways was more difficult for me, she'd guide me by the arm, but now she'll get in front and have me follow her so I can get there on my own. I left my blind cane in my other ride's car and didn't have it with me today but she remembers that I'm blind and is accommodating. I haven't overly discussed changes in my vision with them, I see them for other issues; but they always meet me where I'm at without questioning it. For me, that's been rare to find. All of the other staff have been very pleasant. They cheerfully help me fill out the paperwork and have been very helpful. I don't feel like it's a chore for them to help me. If I don't need an ER, I always go to Sumit Urgent Care and they take good care of me. I couldn't ask for anything more from a physician's office. read more

Dr was nice but told us we needed urgent surgery on my sons broken foot and we need to go to ER if a local orthopedic surgeon couldn't for us in first thing Monday morning. Long story short, spent all day at the ER in LA for them to tell us we don't need surgery, and follow up at a local orthopedic surgeon also told us we didn't need surgery. Refused service to me the last 3 times I've visited. I was taken better care and treated respectfully at Heritage Sierra Medical across the way. I don't trust them with my care and won't be returning for any type of care in the future. Doctors, nurses, receptionists have been incredibly rude and dismissive. Their attitude of healthcare is pushing patients out of their building when it should be taking the time to provide accurate care to patients. I decide to take my toddler here because his pediatrician was not available on Friday. And I didn't want to take him to emergency, since the moment I arrived the staff where friendly, The Dr. assistant was very attentive and friendly. These people only care about getting off early. Google shows the business as closing at six. So we drove all the way across town as fast as we could because we were scheduled to get there at 5:45. We called at quarter till and the girl said we're closed. We stopped taking patients at 5:30. Shouldn't they put that as their closing hour so that people don't drive across town thinking they're going to be open till six? They used to be open till eight. What happened? read more

I went to the center in intense pain. I waited for over an hour in my car. They refused to help me due to a remote (old) diagnosis of bronchitis. I had no cough, no fever and a negative Covid test. I was sent home after 2 hours. Ridiculous policy. Very unkind to people in pain. read more

Sexist, homophobic bigots work here. Went here for a work physical on 9/22, the whole staff was unabashedly prejudiced and completely ignored the information on my ID and medical chart, kept insisting I was a man because I don't dress feminine. My medical history clearly shows I've been female since birth with no medical intervention but that didn't stop the entire staff from calling me "he/him" including the "doctor" who conducted my physical. When the stethoscope touched my breast she let out an audible "ooooh" and yet still went back and confirmed to the hateful ignorant staff that I was indeed a man. Whole staff should have their right to practice revoked. Plus the attendant who took my weight laughed at the number on the scale even though she is twice as wide as I am. I stay true to my word, after speaking with the manager Carlos, who called from his personal cell on his day off to make the situation right, I'm updating my review back to 5 stars. I've been a patient here for 8 years. And as my family has grown from 2 members to 6, we frequent Summit and have never had an experience like that before. My only issue is the provider Kevin, but with that being said, Dr.s are people too, so they are not a one size fits all. I will just chose to come when a different provider is in going forward. I have always loved how efficient Summit is, the lack of wait times and the personal feel. After having one bad experience and the way they made it right, proves they genuinely care about their patients and we are not just another chart. I highly recommend Summit urgent care! read more

I think this place is great. I never go to primary doc, because it take hours every time like all docs in the AV, i go here. They are though. They really want to help. I don't feel like they are trying to push any agenda. One time the doc here even said they couldn't do anything for me, cause they needed a telescoping nasal thing lol IDK, and even offered to refund me the co-pay. Great place. Summit urgent care has an interesting business model. For the initial visit, you will never receive the appropriate medication and dosage. The business model is centered around getting the patient to return at which time the patient will be treated with the appropriate medication and dosage. All of us understand medicine is very much a for-profit business and accept the absence of medical ethics. That being said, there are ethical medical offices, albeit rare. If you have a need for urgent care, you will be seen at Summit urgent care, however, the business model, and indifference will catch up with you, sadly. read more

Ridiculous place obsessed with fear of COVID. You'd think doctors would be the first to realize how silly all this is. My 7 month pregnant wife with a sinus infection was told it would be a half hour wait. After waiting over an hour, she had to use the restroom, which they denied her because she had "COVID symptoms". What symptom is not a COVID symptom?! I am so sick of the medical community. What sort of people deny a pregnant woman a restroom because they're afraid to catch a cold?!? How about a 4th or 5th face mask? That oughta do it! Had a recent experience here with my 5 year old son who had an ear infection. Apparently that's a COVID symptom too. They forced us to wait in the car for over an hour even though we were the first people there. If I could give 0 stars I would. Worst customer service ever. Very rude staff, act as if they are doing someone a favor, when they should be providing courteous health care. My wife was traveling all day (DC to LAX) and needed medical attention. She called ahead and upon arrival 2 hours before their posted closing time, they had a sign on the door saying they weren't taking anymore patients/customers. My wife went in and asked the receptionist and this was due to "We had a rough day and we're going to close early". After my wife left upset, she called me and told me. So I called and spoke to a ray of sunshine at the front desk and she proceeded to tell me the same message. I decided to lecture a bit and let her know that they are Health Care Providers and you signed up and went to school to help people in need and not turn people away. She hung up on me..... I called back and asked why she hung up and she told me that I wasn't listening. She said that the "Provider" decided to close down early. This type of service is why myself and many others in the AV don't goto these corporate clinics and drive down to LA or Burbank to seek healthcare by doctors who own their practices and value their reputation and customers. Obviously they don't care.....but none the less, this Urgent Care lost My Family and I's business along with our Health Insurance payments. Hopefully the Board and "The Provider" reads the reviews of the people you're supposed to serve. read more

Came for a rapid COVID test. They said they had 2 people ahead, it'll be a 30 minute wait. They make sure they take your credit card number and your 175 dollars. 80 minutes later ... We call and explain that we were told the wait was 30 minutes . They keep telling us that they will call us when they are ready. They just grab money. Not worth your trouble. I've always loved it here until they got a new NP. She saw me today and didn't even check me at all. I came in a month prior and they gave me meds that gave me worst side affects then my sickness so I stopped taking them. Needless to say I stayed sick and got worse which is my fault. But when I came back I told her what happened and what was going on and WITHOUT EVEN CHECKING ME she prescribed me a Zpack something that I mentioned that I've taken without side affects but didn't even check me ! So how in the hell does she know if it's the right medicine for me. I then text my mom who comes here often to find out SHE DID THE SAME THING TO HER!!! I'm now having to go else where for a second opinion. Thanks for wasting my insurance money on this pointless ass visit. Don't know if I'll be back. If I do it won't be when she is working. I went in for pain from a herniated disc original nurse told me they may not be able to help me with strong pain medication but suggested take an x-ray the next nurse that came and got me took me in for the X-ray which never happened asked me again why I was there then he told me they can prescribe nothing but aspirin so I got my clothes back on & left. BEWARE, they only have nurse practitioner no doctor so if you have pain DO NOT GO HERE! read more
