The House project with Summit Roofing: Protect new siding and landscaping, strip of 30+ year old asphalt shingles, repair 1 by 8 sheathing where needed, install underlayment, install standing seam metal roof. We secured 8 bids for this job. Our zip code attracts contractors with very high estimates on a lot of common services. Summit was honest, up front, and engaged in the process. The owner came out to talk with us, gave us leads to see their work, and shared their reviews. Their bid was honest, fair, and more very detailed. Timeline, materials, services, delivery, and contingency were spot on throughout the project. Summit Roofing is a family owned business that is vested in every client relationship they have. The project manager was in touch by phone, text, or onsite every day. Best part is that they are big enough to have the materials needed on hand, if not 24 hours away. They shaped and cut the panels in the back yard ensuring that every piece fit and waste was eliminated. Fit and finish was outstanding. The recent rain and wind storms (late June 2023) were the perfect test, our new roof was unfazed. The staff is personable, sincere, and pro-active with their communication. The installation team stayed on schedule, and never missed a timeline or project goal the entire time. The work team checked in with us daily, gave us progress updates, and set expectations. The staff showed up in waves, completing each phase of the metal work quickly, and was always ready for the next phase. We just completed a siding project before taking this on, and I gotta tell you the house looks brand new. The best part is, we don't have to worry about the roof for the next 100 years! If you need a new roof of any kind, contact Summit. You will probably end up talking with Sam Fullerton, the owner, an honorable, hardworking, disciplined gentleman who gets the job done and makes sure you know where the project is at every stage. He was onsite, or checking in by phone daily. He runs a a great company. Respect! read more

I had my roof in Warrenton replaced by Summit Roofing last week and couldn't be happier with the experience. Although I wasn't ready when they first had availability (they were willing to get me as soon as I contacted them), they were able to get me scheduled just two weeks later when it worked better for me. Shannon was wonderful to work with--very patient and thorough in answering all of my questions as a first-time homeowner going through a roof replacement. The pricing was reasonable, the quality is excellent, and I'm very happy with the look and color of the shingles. They were willing to send techs out for color matching, and I even had a technician come by to check on another exterior concern so I could receive a quote for that as well. The shingles themselves look very thick and high-quality. The crew was fantastic--professional, timely, and efficient. They arrived at 7:00 a.m. and had everything cleaned up by 3:00 p.m. I also appreciated the convenience of being able to pay online once the work was completed. Overall, 10/10 would recommend Summit Roofing. I'll plan to update this review after the winter and again in a year to share how everything holds up, but so far I am extremely satisfied with the process and results. read more

Really great experience. Fast, on time, and responded quickly. I would recommend.

They said they would fix our roof weeks ago. I have heard nothing back and they won't return my calls.

Summit roofing just replaced my 25 year old roof and they did a FANTASTIC job! I chose the moire black shingle color and they offered a great price on the shingles and the work. The crew that came out were extremely fast and did great work. They were here early and worked non stop. They were immaculate with placing tarp around the entire house to capture nail and old shingles but also came with a big dump truck. The clean up was wonderful, they picked up everything and at the end of the project had every crew member surrounding the house to ensure a thorough clean up. Not only was the work great, but so was the customer service. Sam returned calls and questions in a timely manner and was super polite and courteous (hard to find these days). They also replaced some rotten board and didn't change the price on me at all. Sam came by and reviewed the work and also added some finishing touches to pipes on the roofing, which he didn't have to do. Thank you Summit Roofing for giving me piece of mind through this upcoming winter with the snow and the rain. You guys did a wonderful job. I highly recommend Summit Roofing!!!! read more

Great work at a good price! They completed everything quickly and to our specifications. We definitely recommend the company. Our only knock was would be that some of the people the contract with were not the most personable individuals. Communication was difficult at times. They also killed our favorite black snake. read more

This review is based solely on the difficulty in actually getting Summit Roofing to show up as promised and do the work. We have a leak that is causing serious damage to the drywall in a closet and potentially causing mold. Summit's bid on the repair was the lowest, so we went with them even though we had to wait a week to get the work done. The morning, they were scheduled to do the work -- a perfect weather day -- Summit canceled and rescheduled for three days later, when the forecast called for storms all day. They understandably canceled that appointment, too -- but said they couldn't reschedule until the following Monday. When I complained about the delays while our roof continues to leak over the next few days of forecast heavy storms, the representative suggested maybe Summit shouldn't do the work. As of now, we'll see if they show up Monday. If they actually do and fix the leak effectively, I'll post another review based on the final work product. But our experience so far has been aggravating and disappointing. read more

Summit was FANTASTIC! They were very quick/responsive with a quote and were a great value! They were timely with scheduling and they only took half a day to replace my roof. Price was exactly as expected, I couldn't have picked a better company to go with. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to replace their roof! A+ company! Thank you, Summit! read more

Would highly recommend them for roof repairs. They were the only company that responded in a quick and timely fashion in regards to our roof needing repair. Contacted others and crickets not Summit. Responded within the day. Worked with them to get a date and time to have roof repaired. Pricing was very reasonable and work was of high quality. David H. read more

Very professional and communicative when calling with an issue. Office staff are amazing. Easy to schedule an appointment to have roofing, soffit, fascia, flashing or other issues pertaining to our roof and gutters to address the problem, then quickly able to schedule the proposed work. Work is always completed thoroughly, on-time, neatly and fairly priced! read more

I highly recommend Summit Roofing Contractors. They are honest, responsive, and perform quality work at a reasonable price. In 2017 we had several companies out to inspect our 19 year old roof. They all recommended replacing the roof because it was at the end of life. Carl from Summit Roofing inspected our roof, said it had several more years of service life and suggested a follow up inspection in 2 - 3 years. Carl reinspected our roof in April of 2020 and said it was time to consider replacing the roof. We received Summit's quote and product information that evening from Sam Fullerton, Jr. He provided several shingle samples so we could compare the color with our existing shingles for consistency. Their supplier was very cautious when using the crane to place the materials on the roof. On installation day, the crew arrived at 7 am, began work at 9 am due to rain, and completed the roof and by 2:30 pm. Another crew installed a new gutter system with leaf guards the following day. A third crew came by a few days later to install a custom made chimney cap that we had requested. All of the crew members that worked on our house were polite, professional, took pride in their work and did a great job cleaning up all of the debris. Again, I highly recommend Summit Roofing Contractors. I found their workmanship to be outstanding and their prices competitive. read more

We had to change our roofing in preparation for SOLAR panel installation and wanted to go with a local business. We are glad we chose Summit. I had a few friendly interactions and the entire project was well executed. The pricing was competitive and the project was planned, communicated and executed as per the agreed schedule. I would recommend Summit to anyone that is looking for their roofing work. read more

Every thing went well, staff is friendly and very professional, came in as per schedule, photos taken before and after job done were reviewed, over all l am pleased. l initially didn't feel comfortable as staff had no mask on. But l used mask and we maintained distance. Well done. read more

Owner botched up the date and then made it seem like I was out of line for being angry. Would never use this company again. Too many other fine roofers out there to put up with this type of arrogance. read more

Great work Benny and the crew at Summit Roofing. I'm amazed they the roof was removed and replaced all in day! And the clean up is perfect. Not a trace of leftover material in the yard or bushes. The shed looks outstanding with the addition of the drip edge metal. Thanks Benny for the color recommendation. read more

We had a leak in our roof. I called Summit and they were able to get someone out in a timely manner. Anibal inspected the roof and found the problem. Referred from a neighbor and we had our roof replaced in June 2017 by summit roofing. They were hard to reach at the beginning but once we finished with paper work and signed the contract, everything went smooth and they came a few weeks later to replace the roof. It was a very hot day but the crews worked very hard and they finished it in one day. They arrived in the morning on time and they were here till the late afternoon. I would say very professional job done on the roof replacement itself, bur after the crew spent a long time making sure they picked up all the nails from the ground, we still found many ( about 8) so we had to call them and they came back the next day in the afternoon to do the sweep again. Overall, we are satisfied with their service. read more

On July 20, 2018 I had an appt. for Summit Roofing to estimate new roof for my townhome in Alexandria Va. I and my friend meet with Louis Somerville consultant to discuss my request. After our initial discussion we shook hands and I agreed to have Summit Roofing follow thru with the paper work. Today October 14, 2018 I still have not heard from Summit Roofing. Their unresponsive lack of interest and silence from a business is crucial for future customers consideration. Summit Roofing a service provider that treats this customer with disrespect. read more

They came right away and gave me a fair estimate. It was a small job to re-flash the chimney. They were on budget and on time and very professional. Always know I can count on Summit Roofing. Good crew and they always do what they say they will do. Thanks! read more

Summit Roofing has been a nightmare. They gave us an estimate and completion date. They did not follow through on anything as promised. The project was scheduled to start on April 9th and was delayed by 2 weeks, but I had to contact them to get scheduling information. When the material was delivered they damaged the Direct TV Satellite, and ultimately, we had to have it replaced. After the work was completed we have had continued issues with water penetration from drainage issues and they refuse to talk to us or assist us in any manner. Their 25-year Workmanship guarantee is a complete joke since they will not stand by their work. We have thousands of dollars of water damage to our house, other roofers will not assist since Summit did the work and making the repairs will void the warranty, and the water damage is only getting worse. STAY AWAY DO NOT USE. read more

Responsive, knowledgeable and courteous! The estimate was on point and work done to specs. Could not ask for more given a big storm came through the day of the fix. Would highly recommend them for any additional work! read more

Now charging a $95 'storm fee' for a free estimate to inspect your roof (if you have them do repairs they will allegedly credit this) on top of exorbitant labor rates. $95 for an estimate folks and you have to pay up front. Not good to gouge people after a storm. I see their trucks at low-end townhome complexes. No effort whatsoever on getting Summit Roofing to color match shingles or fascia trim, as are other roofing companies are willing and able to do. And best of luck in getting the Manassas franchise office (this is a large company) to answer its phone in the past two weeks. Summit does not repair or installs gutters as they subcontract this work and the prices will be noticeable higher as they take a cut. read more

I called Summit Roofing to have someone look at our roof. I'm selling my house and I wanted to tackle any issues beforehand. I knew some shingles were going to have to be replaced due to a recent storm. They were able to send a man out for an estimate within a couple days. I received an estimate to replace 5 shingles for $475. I agreed because I needed it done fast and I cared more about the piece of mind while selling my home. The man explained we would not receive any official report on the condition of the roof, that would cost extra on top of the $475 for 5 shingles. He would be sure to tell us if he found any other issues, though. They were able to schedule the repair 2 days later and they arrived first thing in the morning. They were on the roof for about 15 minutes and then I realized after a couple minutes of silence that they must have completed the job and left. I've never had a contractor just leave after finishing the job like that. I took him leaving without soliciting more work as an indication that with the new shingles, my roof is now in good shape. They were easy to deal with on the phone and were able to do the estimate and job quickly, but being charged almost $100 per shingle is a little high and it would have helped to have a two minute conversation with the roofer when he was done to inquire about the overall condition of my roof and to thank him for his work. read more

Showed up on time, explained what needed to happen, and then got the work done (minor repairs) in the same day. Seemless, quick, and affordable. Thanks. read more

With all the rain this season it was very hard to find a roofing company to do a small repair job. All the companies only wanted to do new roofs. I called over ten companies before another roofer recommended Summit Roofing. Shannon quickly made an appointment for the following week for an inspection and estimate. Unfortunately, our next two appointments were cancelled because of the rain. We have received our estimate and the roof will be repaired next week. Shannon was quick to respond to my phone calls and e-mails. Summit's estimate was in the middle of our three estimates. One estimate was lower because they were only going to patch the area of the leak versus the entire ridge (with no warranty). The other estimate was higher, but gave the same one year warranty. read more

Summit.did an awesome job on our roof repair. We had a leak we didn't know about. Jim came in, gave us an estimate and followed up with excellent workmanship. Shannon was extremely helpful in getting us any information we needed as we were in the process of selling the home. Professional, clean and timely! Very satisfied customer. read more

I have been using this company for many years. They have always been honest and straightforward...on occasion they have convinced me not to do major repairs when other less scrupulous companies wanted me to file insurance claims for work that wasn't needed I had them out today to fix a portion of my roof that was leaking. Carl diagnosed the problem and Caesar did the work in about 4-5 hours. While there is additional work required, they got to me within a couple days of a major storm and completed the most important part of the project. I continue to recommend Summit. read more

We received Benny's information through our realtor who we love and trust. She swears by him and was the only person she recommended, which makes this experience even more disappointing. After agreeing on a date for his "guy" to come take a look at our roof which was in need of repair, the "guy" never showed up. Was told he would come back two days later, but we were desperate to get the ball rolling because it was an active leak in our roof. The "guy" finally comes out and we receive a quote which was higher than we expected. I responded the same day with a few questions about payment, work warranty, and availability and didn't hear back. Sent another email two days later following up, still didn't hear back. Sent text messages directly to Benny and didn't hear back. Finally, we had another company come out, who was cheaper, more professional and responded to communication (they did a great job with the repair as well). This wasn't a big, complicated job, and Benny made it clear he didn't need our business. read more

I thought this was a great company until after I signed them to do the work. Very unresponsive, poor customer service. My roof has been in need of repair for some time now. I was worried about the cost but figured it needed to be done before this winter. I called Summit to get an estimate and just see what the cost would be. The consultant was awesome. Walked me through everything that I needed, which was more than I had thought, but when I received the quote it was far less than I thought. I decided to get it done and I'm looking at it now. My house looks brand new. Summit knows what they're doing, I couldn't be happier. They didn't cut corners, details are perfect. They were very professional and worked hard. I definitely won't be fearing a snowstorm this year. Thanks again Summit, I will be referring you to anyone needing your services. read more

I had Summit come out to look at two places where I had roof leaks on two separate buildings. In both cases the estimator told me that it wasn't my roof that was causing the problem. In one case he told me how to repair it myself, and in the other he recommended new gutters which would solve the roof leak. So what I thought was going to be $20K of new roofing on two buildings turned in to $1300 for new gutters on one building. And oh by the way, while he was there, he fixed two small roofing defects that would have eventually turned into something serious, for nothing. The guys that put the new gutters on were fast, friendly and very neat. I couldn't ask for more. read more

Summit was prompt, responsive, and provided quality work, which is amazing considering that even during the proposal process when we reached out to 7 other companies, some were non responsive or stated they would send us a quote but never did. Throughout the proposal process, Summit was our favorite to work with. Some of the companies required both myself and my husband to get a quote and some didn't even bother sending us a quote. Summit was able to stop by without speaking to us and worked with us over the phone regarding any questions we had. We compared everyone's proposal and theirs did not provide anything different than what other roofing companies were proposing. Their initial quote was the lowest price provided. We requested a final round of quotes from all bidders for their lowest priced offer, and although Summit was not the lowest after that final round, we decided to go with them because we felt they were able to get the job done in the time frame they promised us, and we liked working with them. They did not take any money down, they accept credit cards, and they were able to accomplish the job quickly and cleanly. I barely noticed they were there and our roof looks amazing. Couldn't have asked for a better contracting experience. read more

We recently had our roof replaced by Summit. We had two major issues with the installation. 1) During the installation they covered all landscape shrubs surrounding our house. This was a good precaution against damage, except it was 90+ degrees that day and the shrubs were covered 12 hours, damaging several. We were told to wait to next spring and let them know if the damage persists. We did have one recently installed shrub replaced which Summit reimbursed. Also during installation the metal screens covering our gutters were destroyed and thrown out. This was not in the scope of the job. Fortunately we saw this and Summit subsequently replaced those we could see, but I have no idea it the screens on the second story roof were similarly damaged/discarded. 2) Of larger concern, we chose to include a metal roof over a small front porch. During the original work begun on Aug. 19th, some of the material was damaged and replacement material had to be reordered. We waited several weeks for this to be remedied and the work was done while we were out of town. Upon returning we were very disappointed in the workmanship. Since that time we have had two Summit managers view the work and agree it isn't well done, including one who said the person doing the work wasn't qualified to install a metal roof. Both have made promises to correct the situation, saying they were waiting for their supplier to get in the needed materials. These promises have been going on for seven (7) weeks now, and still no resolution! In fact, we haven't heard from Summit in over a week now. Moral of the story is that Summit was very professional and aggressive in getting the business, but the work was sub-par and the follow-up pathetic. read more
