They handled several weeks of work for me after I purchased my first home, including: painting throughout the home, installing 15 new light fixtures, tiling around my tub, installing new electrical for a projector system, cutting and installing new stair posts and railings, removing back splashes, plumbing work (new garbage disposal, new water filter spout, rerouting sink plumbing), installing a new closet system, and more!

I requested that they come out to hang 5 curtain rods and to replace a toilet. I was very clear with them that the toilet needed to be hauled away for disposal. I had an appointment set for a Thursday at 8:30am. I confirmed that appointment again two days before they were due here. The night before, they told me they had another job to go to at 7am and said they would be here between 10-11am. They finally showed up at around 1:45-2pm. Because of the way the building is constructed, they had some trouble finding where to drill holes to hang the curtain rods. So in one of my rooms, I have holes in my walls that they drilled and were supposed to fix before they left. They did not. They also did not remove the toilet. So, I was stuck with a toilet sitting in my office. They were supposed to come back today, a week later, to remove it, fix the wall, and finish some other small projects. I emailed them over the weekend to confirm but didn't receive a response. They finally confirmed at 5:30am today that they would be here at 8:30. No one showed up. So I called. Goes straight to a messaging service. Left a message. Emailed them to let them know they have to be here by 8:45 so I can let them in and show them what needs to be done because I will be tied up after that. No response. Someone finally showed up at 9:30. But I had already emailed them a second time at 8:55am to say don't bother coming back. I will go to task rabbit to find someone reliable to do this work. Fortunately, in anticipation of this happening based on what happened last week, I had already gotten a junk hauler to get the toilet out of my office on Saturday.

As I'm sure you can guess, he was still a no show. Unprofessional. Update: Now they audaciously are saying they never made an appointment with me. See the enclosed screenshot of our correspondence. They are either completely dishonest or failed to adequately investigate a legitimate customer complaint before responding Either way, not trustworthy. Should have owned up to your mishandling of the situation and simply apologized. Update No. 2: Now, they fully acknowledge their mistake despite their initial denial. Their condescending and unprofessional follow up response tells you all you need to know about this business. Reporting to BBB as well.

I noticed a post on Nextdoor asking for handyman recommendations. There were a bunch of replies,…read morebut only 5 that seemed to match my criteria. I did research online for those 5. There was only 1 that had what I was looking for in a handyman company. Included in my list of requirements was BBB registration, insurance to protect customers and very positive reviews on all the main sites (Angi, Yelp, Google, etc.). It was also important that the 'company' be more than one person and have experience in the projects that I was interested in doing. Only one of those companies checked all the boxes: Welter Home Services. I called them and spoke with Kevin about our current and future needs. We had 3 projects. I wanted to do one to be sure I was pleased with their work (I was) before starting the other two. Kevin explained what labor and materials we needed to complete the job. He provided a detailed estimate with all materials and labor stated. Our first project was the replacement of a kitchen pantry door - including the whole door frame, hardware and trim. This required removing the old door, frame and trim - and painting the new door, frame and trim. On the agreed upon date, a Welter HS employee showed up at our door exactly on time. He was very pleasant and helpful. He completed the project, checked his work and made some touchups where the appearance as not "perfect", then did a great job of cleaning up the area he had worked in. We are very pleased with Welter HS and the work they completed for us: on time and for the price they quoted. We are moving forward with the next two projects and are looking forward to getting them completed with the same quality and professionalism that they applied to this first project.

I called one electric company and before they even looked at it they said i was overloaded and wanted me to upgrade my panel. I knew i wasn't overloaded. I called John and we started texting, he asked several questions and he had an idea of what the problem was. I sent him photos of my panel and he quoted me before coming out. He texted me later on that he was available and he came out. Within 20 minutes he was done. I went from a $2,000 quote to a $180 repair (including parts). Its been two months and everything is working great. He took the time and explained everything to me while working and why he was doing it. Obviously, he likes to inform his customers which I really like. He answered all my questions and provided a complete answer which left me feeling comfortable with his work after he left. I take electrical work very seriously and I don't trust anybody who doesn't seem to have answers or doesn't like to be questioned. A lot of people don't like that he texts, its different but obviously he prefers it and it works, so I didn't mind. He asks what he needs to know and gets back to you when he can. There was a gap between the texts but i had patience and he came through in the end. He's my go to guy for electrical work going forward.

Jason Mitchell is a con man. He bragged about his ability and boasted about being bonded. He took…read moremy money and abandoned the job without completing it. He didn't level my floating floors before tiling (which was stipulated prior to signing the contract) and all of the tile work is unleveled and has buckling tile. The mortar is cracking and popping up. When I reached out to him for warranty repairs he told me to take it up with his attorney. I spent over $13k on a tile job for 4 rooms and I now need to have it all removed in order to have the floors properly leveled. He has no business being a contractor and I highly suggest you avoid him at all cost. My attorney has recommended that I look into a class action lawsuit against him. Edit: reply to Jason's response. Please do not believe the lies Jason has responded to my honest review of his tile failure in my home. 1st: The job was abandoned in June of 2019. 2nd: He refused to complete the job because I made the mistake of paying him the majority of the payments early after he presented a sob story about not being able to cover his pay roll. This was pre grouting before we noticed the tile was laid uneven. 3rd: I remained calm and cordial with him through the 2 months. I provided photos of the numerous areas that were unacceptable and unprofessional done. He always guaranteed he would correct the issues and never did. 4th: He refunded me $1000, not $2k after I threatened to take him to court for abandoning the job. I never signed any post agreement with him. He was supposed to create one for me to review and he never did. He must be confusing me with another victim of his. 5: I'm the one that pointed out the floating floor was not properly leveled and he tried to repair the sections after he had already laid uneven tile. His attempts made the floor more unstable. Before I signed the contract with him he guaranteed my floors would be leveled. 6: I had found a few bad reviews regarding His work prior to hiring him and he provided the same type of lies he used in response to my review here. 7: I was contacted by a former employee of his that told me my floor would start to fall apart after around a year because of Jason cuts corners. & that Jason has a history of scrubbing bad reviews with Angie's List and Yelp. 8.I turned down his initial bid as it was extremely high. I was going to hire Luna. Jason lowered his price in his bid in order to win the job. No terms were changed for the work to be completed and he guaranteed the work to be on par with Luna. After his poor craftsmanship became apparent he made a remark that he did level the floor because he lowered his price. Please note prior to the contract being signed we specifically discussed how the floor being leveled was to be included. (Not the basement floor, the main level were the tile us all falling apart now). He even made the remark "floor leveling us automatically included as it's part of properly tiling". 9.
