First Watch has around 630 locations across 32 states with the highest concentration in Florida. This location of First Watch in Foley, AL is a popular local spot in the area for their breakfast, brunch and lunch options. First Watch is one of only a handful of restaurants in the area that offer quinoa and they do offer a lot of other healthier options. One big negative to me about this spot is they don't have whole cream and only have that weak pathetic half and half junk so I have to bring my own cream. Another thing they lack (that is also way too common in a lot of Lower Alabama) is they don't have mustard so I have to bring my own mustard as well. I'm not the biggest fan of breakfast as I prefer the brunch and lunch time of eating a lot more. I'm a big fan of their bottomless coffee other than having to bring my own cream. The food is alright but I really prefer a New Orleans style brunch and lunch and there is no sign of any veal grillades and grits in sight at this spot. The service is a bit slow to refill your drinks and they seem to be a bit understaffed. Overall I've liked my experiences here but most of the food isn't my favorite while I do applaud their efforts to offer healthier food.

One of the standout touches is the little shop inside, filled with all kinds of great finds--soaps, mists, lotions, and even kitchen accessories. It's a fun bonus that makes the experience feel a bit more unique. We came in with a group of 16, and they were able to accommodate us in a separate space across from the main area, which worked out really well. If you're planning a visit with a large group, I'd definitely recommend calling ahead. Major shoutout to our server--she handled splitting the check six ways like a pro. Everything came out correctly and fairly close together, which is no small feat with a group our size. I ordered the mahi sandwich, and it was delicious. The bun was perfectly buttered, and the fish itself was flavorful and well-prepared. They also offer a salad bar if you're looking for something lighter. Prices are on the higher side, but that's pretty standard for seafood. Some dishes were served whole--bone-in and all--which caught a few people in our group off guard, but to me, that's usually a sign of freshness. The food did take a bit of time to come out, but given the size of our party, it was understandable. Overall, I really enjoyed our visit and would happily come back.

Our waiter was very polite and very friendly. It pains me say this, but we had awful experience with our food order. I ordered the grilled shrimp plate and husband ordered the fired oyster plate. My grilled shrimp plate, was over cooked. My husband fried oyster plate, " he found a long black hair... wrapped around one of the fried oyster". Manager took the fried oyster plate off our bill. People preparing the food " need to make sure they're wearing a hair nets."

We had driven by Dan's in the past .. with the high reviews we wanted to put them on our bucket list. First things first, hours are bit unusual 10-3 but hey why not. We landed around 10:30 and the place was pretty quiet .. just another couple seated. First impressions were good, nice clean spot, 50's theme with like kind music. You order from the front register so we went about picking from their menu. A couple of things, one I noticed the cook was preparing off a couple gas like hot plates vs a griddle, a small concern initially. I opted for the Dinner B-fast eggs, hash browns pattie sausage and raisin toast. My partner went lunch focus with a Dinner burger & fries. The wait was short and our food arrived hot and ready to eat ! Here's the breakdown: Diner B-fast - a bit underwhelming to say the least. Eggs were cooked OK, the hashbrowns were a bit soggy and really greasy sad to say. The pattie sausage was thin and so salty it was hard to eat. The raisin toast was hard, dry and really crunchy. All in all - one of the less digestable b-fast plates since landing here 6 weeks ago. Diner Burger - our order taker missed the cheese we asked for so we ended up with a reg burger vs the cheese burger. The sandwich was good but came with a handful of seasoned fries which were OK but honestly hold the seasoning and just give the real deal. I must say our hopes and expectations were high based on past reviews and comments. Unfortunately this one crashed and burned. Now off the list - not a repeat for us sad to say.
