The decor is what would expect from a 50s diner. From decoration to staff dressing the part. I'm not sure if yesterday Aug 8th, was an off day for the cooks. My wife has a death allergic reaction to onions and because of cross contamination in the kitchen she was exposed to onions. Regardless of how busy the diner is, the cooks need to take their time to ensure this doesn't happen. Why didn't I speak to the staff? Guests with allergies need to read this and that takes precedent over speaking to a manager who may or not only provide lip service about seeing how this won't hapoen again. read more

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I've had in a long time. We came in expecting a great local diner, but instead were served overpriced, excessively greasy food that wasn't even prepared well. My oldest son ordered breakfast for dinner. The eggs were dry and overcooked, the waffles tasted like the frozen waffles you'd get from a budget hotel continental breakfast, and the bacon was so undercooked it was barely edible. My husband ordered the chicken-fried steak and was shocked by how small the portion was for the price. The flavor was just as disappointing, and he ended up leaving most of it on the plate. My daughter's club sandwich and my turkey Reuben were just mediocre--nothing special and certainly not worth what we paid. The entire restaurant felt like it was charging premium prices for cafeteria-quality food. By the time we left, our bill was around $140 including tip, and I honestly felt like we had completely wasted our money. It was, without question, the worst meal of our vacation. Cool busy spot! Plenty of seating so don't let the full parking lot scare you away. My party of 6 had a short 5 minute wait. Inside is decorated in a 50's diner theme. They even have a cool table shaped like a 50s sedan. The menus are made like a newspaper. Very aesthetically pleasing! I went with the steak and eggs meal. Others had the burgers. I love me some 50's jams. Food just tastes better with some Elvis or Chuck Berry coming from the speakers. Our server was Bob and he was very accommodating and patient with all my questions. Huge thank you to my fellow yelper who recommended trying the candied bacon. I didn't see it on the menu, but was lookiing at other photos and reviews and decided to try it. IT WAS FANTASTIC. Everything was typical diner food, eggs, pancakes, ham, grits etc. But the standout (besides the candied bacon) was the chicken and waffle Benedict. I love a good alternative Benedict and this one was worth raving about. The chicken was perfectly fried and tender. The waffle was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. The egg and hollandaise were both perfect. It came with bell peppers, but I asked for those to be omitted. The hash browns were also quite good, especially with the recommended onion. The vibes of this place are immaculate for sure. Old school 1950s-style diner, all vintaged out. It is a really awesome place to bring a family/friends just to experience it. However, the food really brought this restaurant down a couple notches. We ordered a bunch of different types of dishes: eggs Benedict, burgers, Reubens, shrimp, all coming to the same conclusion: decent at best. This is a review of all our dishes at the table from our group. The classic breakfast was good, the biscuit and grits were the favs of this dish. The chicken and waffles Benedict was good other than he wasn't a fan of this particular hollandaise sauce (no judgement everyone makes it different and that's ok). The biscuits and gravy were good! Hashbrowns were on point! We also ordered a Sunliner French Toast for the table, it was good but nothing to rave about. Atmosphere was great (if you don't mind a loud diner)! My husband and I went out with my grandparents for a good ole fashioned burger and shake dinner while on our vacation. This place was so cute! I got a burger and onion rings. The burger was pretty decently size and the rings were good! Grandma got the melt I think and grandpa got the big daddy-o breakfast. We made sure to save room for chocolate shakes too! Although I will say whoever thought to put waffle in the shake is kind of weird because it was a soggy mess which wasn't very appetizing. All of that to say, everyone was full and happy by the end! I'm a sucker for a good diner, and this is a good diner. It may be a chain with a ton of locations, but that takes nothing away from the experience we had. My only small regret is that we didn't get there at the right time to snag the car table, but the booth was perfectly fine. We got the candied bacon for the table, and the coffee was classic diner coffee, which is to say it doesn't taste much like coffee so much as water that was once transported in a truck that hauled coffee beans at some point. Honestly, that's part of the charm. Our server was awesome and went above and beyond, giving us a few tips on things to do in the area beyond just hitting the beach. My husband got the shrimp n grits and he said it was good however a spoon would've been better than the fork as the grits were a bit runny. It is especially irritating when my husband has a boot on for his broken foot and yet the hostess neither noticed nor cared where she made us walk all the way to the back. This version is served on top of hash browns instead of having potatoes inside. I like this very much as the potatoes are just a filler usually and it also makes this version easier for those in a low carb diet. The meat was good and not fatty and the peppers, both red and green, were diced quite finely. It did not have too strong a green pepper taste ( which I don't like).
