Our wait time was minimal when we were sat at our table. We were greeted by the cutest little waitress. The diner is very clean and for having multiple booths and counters it's not overly loud. And the food was just like you wanted it.

Right away we were blown away with the atmosphere. This truly felt like you went back in time. The menu is a little newspaper and very organized. When we sat down our waitress Nikki immediately greeted us and grabbed our drink order. Food and drinks all came out very quickly. Hot and fresh. The prices are not gouging either and they have a cute little shop to get some memorabilia. Definitely will come back even if it's in a future vacation.

Extensive menu! Fun lights and a car to dine in if you get the chance. All seating indoors. Pricey but that's what is expected in a tourist town.

Orange cream soda, so sweet it would make a hummingbird blush.

I love me some 50's jams. Food just tastes better with some Elvis or Chuck Berry coming from the speakers. Our server was Bob and he was very accommodating and patient with all my questions. Huge thank you to my fellow yelper who recommended trying the candied bacon. I didn't see it on the menu, but was lookiing at other photos and reviews and decided to try it. IT WAS FANTASTIC. Everything was typical diner food, eggs, pancakes, ham, grits etc. But the standout (besides the candied bacon) was the chicken and waffle Benedict. I love a good alternative Benedict and this one was worth raving about. The chicken was perfectly fried and tender. The waffle was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. The egg and hollandaise were both perfect. It came with bell peppers, but I asked for those to be omitted. The hash browns were also quite good, especially with the recommended onion. If you're in the area, and you want to eat a good breakfast with happy music, this is the place for you!

Ordered the chicken and waffle Benedict and it came in 1/2 a waffle. Seriously? We are sick of tourist traps that "use the creole/cajun" descriptions and have piss poor service. The pink pony was the last straw. I don't make the menus!!! Well correct it with a pen -one at a time. Problem solved. $20 for a piece of chicken and 2 eggs. That's the definition of a "tourist trap ".... Ambiance is (2) babies screaming in your ear for 1/2 hour.

Service was very quick and staff was very friendly and helpful. Our whole group besides me got the meatloaf, which is their favorite they get every time. The benedict's eggs were over easy inside the yolk so they didn't ooze out like a typical Benedict, but it was still delicious. It was very clean, and the atmosphere is always cool there.

The vibes of this place are immaculate for sure. Old school 1950s-style diner, all vintaged out. It is a really awesome place to bring a family/friends just to experience it. However, the food really brought this restaurant down a couple notches. We ordered a bunch of different types of dishes: eggs Benedict, burgers, Reubens, shrimp, all coming to the same conclusion: decent at best. Everything seemed not only to lack flavor, but quality ingredients. It's sad that it didn't live up to the personality of the restaurant. Life goes on!

From the moment we walked into Sunliner Diner, we were instantly transported to the golden age of 1950s Americana--a retro paradise with gleaming chrome accents, checkered floors, a vibrant jukebox playlist, and classic newspaper-style menus that scream nostalgia. The atmosphere is fun, lively, and crafted with loving attention to detail. Whether you're seated in a cozy booth or one of the convertible-style tables, each spot feels like stepping back in time. The food was every bit as fantastic as the setting--fluffy pancakes, perfectly cooked eggs, hearty portions, and a milkshake that could have been straight out of a soda shop. Every bite was satisfying and full of comfort. But the true highlight of the night wasn't just the food or the décor--it was our incredible server, Suga. Suga is a rare gem of a server--the kind who doesn't just take your order but makes the whole dining experience come alive. She was warm, attentive, and had an energy that lit up the diner. She whistled as she worked, effortlessly keeping in rhythm with the buzz of the restaurant. When the jukebox played, she sang along with a smile, filling the room with joy and reminding us why places like Sunliner Diner are so special. Her happiness was contagious--you could feel it ripple through the tables around us. What really stood out was how genuine she was. She wasn't just performing--she was enjoying herself, and it made us enjoy ourselves even more. It felt like being welcomed into a family kitchen where the food is great, but the company makes it even better.Sunliner Diner is already a must-visit for its food and atmosphere, but with Suga as your server, it becomes something extraordinary. She turned a simple meal into a memory we'll keep forever. Her singing, whistling, and warm personality made us feel like we were part of the fun instead of just customers. If you visit Sunliner Diner, do yourself a favor: hope you get lucky enough to have Suga as your server. She's the heart of the diner, and she made our experience absolutely wonderful.

This isn't just a place to eat; it's an experience that brings a smile to your face from the moment you walk in. Whether it's the friendly, character-driven service or the pure, nostalgic joy of the surroundings, it is truly a gem to visit.

Came here because of the great yelp reviews, and coincidentally it was super close to the beach where we'd planned to spend the afternoon for 4th of July. Lots of people waiting, but there was only two of us and we were sat fairly quickly. I my husband ordered the chicken and waffle Benedict and I ordered the Beegees Breakfast Combo. Both were good. No complaints on the food. The server never came to check on us or refill our empty waters. The cream soda is also good.

Perfect spot for a big family breakfast! We visited Sunliner Diner in Gulf Shores for a Mother's Day breakfast with a party of 9--including my in-laws, husband, son, daughter and her fiancé, our grandchild, and our 6-year-old daughter--and we had a fantastic experience from start to finish. We were seated quickly, which is no small feat with a group this size. The service was great--friendly, attentive, and kept everything moving smoothly. Here's what we ordered: * I enjoyed the Strawberry Mimosa (Mother's Day special)--sweet and bubbly! * I had the Ultimate BLT with fries--crispy bacon, fresh lettuce and tomato, perfectly toasted bread. * My husband ordered the Southern Fried Steak breakfast with biscuit, scrambled eggs with cheese, and creamy cheese grits--he loved every bite. * Our son had the Big Daddy-O breakfast with hashbrowns--classic and satisfying. * My daughter and mother-in-law shared the Bee Gees Breakfast Combo--bacon, hashbrowns, and a biscuit topped with sausage gravy. * My son-in-law tried the Shrimp and Grits--a Southern staple done right. * My father-in-law enjoyed the Corned Beef Hash--he cleaned his plate. * Both our granddaughter and 6-year-old daughter had the kids' breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, and grits--simple, tasty, and kid-approved. The 1950s vibe is so fun and nostalgic, from the decor to the music. It's a great atmosphere for families or anyone wanting a cheerful, classic diner experience. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Gulf Shores!

50's themed diner with great atmosphere. Excellent service and reasonably priced good food. We try and have breakfast here when we are visiting, Will be back again!

Hash is good. No carb version = hold the hash browns and biscuit

It's a cute diner. Even on memorial weekend when it was PACKED we only waited 15 min to get a party of 3 seated Friendly waitstaff Terrible coffee but I kinda expected that Hash browns are nice and crispy Corned beef hash: I love CBH and try it everywhere it's advertised as house made. This version is served on top of hash browns instead of having potatoes inside. I like this very much as the potatoes are just a filler usually and it also makes this version easier for those in a low carb diet. The meat was good and not fatty and the peppers, both red and green, were diced quite finely. It did not have too strong a green pepper taste ( which I don't like). Omelette was packed full and enjoyable. Ambiance here is so cute and we read the 59s trivia while waiting for food

Visiting Gulf Shores, AL? Nice seeing you... now go home!…read more LOL, I had to start out with that one. But seriously--whether you're a local or just visiting, you have to try Duck's Diner - Gulf Shores. It's a true local favorite, and it keeps getting busier now that the tourists have discovered it too. One of my personal favorites is the Creole Shrimp & Grits--a true classic packed with awesome flavor. They are definitely not skimpy on the sauce or the shrimp, so be ready because you're probably going to need a to-go box. More of a burger person? Heck yeah--the Cowboy Burger is always a strong favorite and a solid choice. Want a sandwich instead? Go with the Reuben on Rye. It's definitely a winner and never disappoints. Need something to drink? They've got you covered with everything from good coffee and sweet tea to a Screwdriver, which happens to be one of my favorites. Overall, you really can't go wrong stopping in here. Sometimes I almost wish y'all wouldn't because it gets so busy , but I'd hate for anyone to miss out on one of the best local spots around. If you stop in, tell them the local biker "1/2 Time" sent ya! I won't get anything for it, but at least they'll know I was true to my word and gave them the solid review I promised.

Love that pimento cheese ball appetizer with that blueberry pepper jelly! For lunch, I had the meat and three. It was all good, especially the collard greens. SERVICE THIS WAS MAYBE SOME OF THE BEST SERVICE I HAD THE WHOLE TIME I WAS IN ORANGE BEACH THIS WEEKEND. OUR SERVER WAS SO AMAZING. I also got a beer from the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I was very impressed by their beer selection and they are a verified venue on the Untappd app so you can go to that app to look at all the beer selection and even filter and sort the beers so that you can have an easier time selecting the proper beverage.
