Went there for lunch. Amazing experience all the way around. I will definitely be back for the food…read morethe atmosphere and the service and the beer selection. ATMOSPHERE Nothing too special about the atmosphere here. I just love that. It was nice clean open area with large windows and plenty of seating and easy to get around. The bar area look cool and the layout was nice. FOOD this is why you came here, right! All kinds of fish cooked all kinds of different ways. Delicious gumbo. Love that pimento cheese ball appetizer with that blueberry pepper jelly! For lunch, I had the meat and three. It was all good, especially the collard greens. SERVICE THIS WAS MAYBE SOME OF THE BEST SERVICE I HAD THE WHOLE TIME I WAS IN ORANGE BEACH THIS WEEKEND. OUR SERVER WAS SO AMAZING. I HATE THAT I CAN'T REMEMBER HER NAME, BUT SHE WAS ON TOP OF IT AND SUPER DELIGHTFUL. DRINKS The bar area looked really nice. Most of my table had iced tea which everybody enjoyed. I also got a beer from the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I was very impressed by their beer selection and they are a verified venue on the Untappd app so you can go to that app to look at all the beer selection and even filter and sort the beers so that you can have an easier time selecting the proper beverage. It even came out in a glass that matched the beer that I had! I like that extra touch.

They had a meat and three sides which is a southern thing. I chose the fresh catch. with side salad, boiled red potatoes, and greens. I had asked the server for the salad first. But it was brought with the meal. The salad was fresh and crisp, with a surprise of a small Peppa dew pepper. Blazing red with a little heat and delicious. Haven't seen them in a restaurant ever. Unfortunately my fish and potatoes were cold, cold and butter congealed. The greens were warm and good I had also ordered the cornbread. It was refreshing to see that it wasn't the usual cake like kind, plus not the ultra sweet kind either. More bread like with a hint of sweetness. Delicious. The fish and potatoes had a nice flavor but unfortunately the cold food spoiled the experience. Since I was a guest of my sister I didn't say anything about the cold food. What a disappointment. Maybe when I return things will be better.

Visiting Gulf Shores, AL? Nice seeing you... now go home!…read more LOL, I had to start out with that one. But seriously--whether you're a local or just visiting, you have to try Duck's Diner - Gulf Shores. It's a true local favorite, and it keeps getting busier now that the tourists have discovered it too. One of my personal favorites is the Creole Shrimp & Grits--a true classic packed with awesome flavor. They are definitely not skimpy on the sauce or the shrimp, so be ready because you're probably going to need a to-go box. More of a burger person? Heck yeah--the Cowboy Burger is always a strong favorite and a solid choice. Want a sandwich instead? Go with the Reuben on Rye. It's definitely a winner and never disappoints. Need something to drink? They've got you covered with everything from good coffee and sweet tea to a Screwdriver, which happens to be one of my favorites. Overall, you really can't go wrong stopping in here. Sometimes I almost wish y'all wouldn't because it gets so busy , but I'd hate for anyone to miss out on one of the best local spots around. If you stop in, tell them the local biker "1/2 Time" sent ya! I won't get anything for it, but at least they'll know I was true to my word and gave them the solid review I promised.

Although there was a line out the door the wait was less than 15 minutes on a Fri morning. The berry biscuits tasted a lot like a funnel cake--really good. Kids enjoyed their Nutella and chocolate chip pancakes. My husband had the stuffed French toast and it was delicious and a huge portion--def meant to be shared. I was a bit disappointed with the Creole Benedict. Underneath my poached eggs was what tasted like a seared piece of ham or spam and I just wasn't a fan of this, I don't believe I read this in the description. In my opinion overwhelmed the other flavors in this dish. We overall enjoyed this for a nicer casual sit down breakfast in the area.

I'm always leery about Mexican food - it tends to be heavier than I would like and I often just assume it might be low quality. Because of that pre-disposition, its not very often that a Mexican restaurant impresses me but this one certainly did. First off, my husband and I ordered margaritas and when they asked if we wanted small, medium or large we were like - "um...large". Holy cow, are they ever! We should have actually shared one because these things are huge! We each only finished half and they gave us to go cups for the remainder - popped them in the freezer and finishing them off tonight. And not only are they ginormous, but also delicious. A nice amount of tequila and good flavor! For food, we ordered steak fajitas - very good, thought I would have appreciated some guacamole with it. Tacos Birra - second or third time for my husband having these here because he likes them so dang much. And a 3 item combo with 2 soft shell corn tacos and a chile rellano. They were kind enough to allow my son to go slightly off menu with a carnitas taco instead of the basic ground beef or chicken and he very much liked it. My chile rellano was quite good as well. And since the chips and salsa always matter to my husband - we also enjoyed these throughout our meal. In fact, I even liked the salsa and don't usually eat it.
