Wow! Great addition to the Summit restaurant scene. Nothing fancy here, just really great traditional greek food. I split a lamb yeero platter with my daughter. Was a nice portion and was delicious. This is one of my go-to spots for a quick sit down lunch in Summit. The food is spectacular and one of my favorite dishes is the Greek trio (which gives you an opportunity to try three of there tasty classic Greek dishes). The trio comes with a Greek salad and a side dish. Try the roasted beet salad for your side - delicious! If you want something more on the lighter side, they have salads, sandwiches and gyros. There are also great options for vegetarians, including really tasty falafel. The soda machine is amazing and offers thousands of different options (diet caffeine-free raspberry ginger ale for example). Staff is super friendly and accommodating. Best time to eat here is on a nice spring day when they open the large windows to create an alfresco experience. read more

I don't know where all the good reviews are coming from, I definitely don't agree. Went for lunch and was very disappointed. The kid at the counter was obnoxious and greeted me by saying "you ready". I asked what kind of soup they had and he named a few, I said do you gave avgolemeno, a Greek restaurant staple, he said no, we have lemon chicken (OK, that's avgolemeno), wouldn't have cared if he wasn't so rude. Also, when we left none of the 10 people behind the counter said thank you or good bye. On to the food: The soup was decent, not great but OK. I also ordered a Caesar salad with lamb gyro meat. The meat was decent but they gave me a package of hellmans Caesar dressing! Ughh and 2 packages of "seasoned croutons". What the heck?? That's what I'd expect when buying a salad at port authority, or in an airport! Also, I'm not a germ-a-phobe but they put the packages into the salad. That's not cool, I'm sure the packages aren't exactly sanitary and it just shows a lack of respect for food in my opinion. I don't know, if I'm paying for a Caesar salad at a restaurant, I'd like a salad tossed with the dressing that's ready to eat. I don't want an envelope of hellmans dressing, it doesn't taste like Caesar at all and I can get that at the store, or Quick Check for that matter. We ordered $32 worth of food from here for lunch today. When our food arrived there was a moldy tomato in it! How disgusting is that? When I called to place a complaint I received no sympathy at all. The man who answered didn't seem to care. He offered to refund the salad the tomato was in but at this point everyone else was uncomfortable eating the other food. How are we to know the rest of the food was up to health code standards. You lost a handful of customers for life who will now spread the word to never go to this establishment. read more

I called for takeout after my dentist recommended this place because they have delivery. Well, I called for delivery on a Saturday night and they told me no delivery that night. A bit off-putting. I was in the mood for Greek so I decided to not be lazy and call back for pickup. I ordered the Hummus and the Lamb Yeero with Zatziki sauce. Yum. Took only 10-15 so I hopped right in the car. I waited 10 minutes when I got there. The restaurant is BYO and an order at the counter get a number type place. I watched them preparing a Greek salad and I was underwhelmed by the unripened tomatoes (my pet peeve) and the iceberg lettuce (covered on top by mixed greens). I started to get a bit nervous. My hummus was pretty plain and had no garlic taste which made it pretty flavorless. The pita was warm and tasty. The yeero was good! The Lamb was flavorful and the zatziki was great. My only complaint was the smell of onion lingering with me the whole night. Shouldn't complain though because the flavor was right, unlike the hummus. I think I would go back for a crepe. read more

I had to write a review because we went here for lunch yesterday for my co-worker's birthday lunch and it was so good. Beyond the food, which was plentiful and priced well, we purchased a rice pudding for the birthday girl but they gave us back the money after they found out it was her birthday. And not only that but then they gave rice pudding (free!) to everyone at the table to share!!?! There were ~10 of us and they gave us 5 or so, on the house. It was just so sweet and unexpected, and really touched my heart. To the owner, your gesture was appreciated by all and thank you so much for your generosity! My baked lemon chicken was tender, juicy and lemony. String beans were very good. Hummus wasn't the best (sorry). Service was more than accommodating. My husband and I went here a few weeks ago for dinner. It's nice to see new restaurants in town. I had a salad with falafel (fried) and my husband had the beef gyro, as well as an order of mozzarella sticks start with. The salad was huge, the falafel really good and the feta superb. My husband's gyro was large, too, and comes undone, so he had to make his own. Not a bad thing, but he wasn't expecting it. We both couldn't finish our meals and took the rest home, both of which don't keep well. I'm definitely up for going again. It's a nice, casual feel and not pricey. After helping them move into their new place in Summit, my sister and brother-in-law brought us here to share a meal. I figured a lifetime spent in Astoria, where Greek fare runs plentifully and generally good food can be found on any block, would have spoiled me for this dinner. After a meal here, I am happy to stand corrected - this big, bright, friendly eatery has got its own thing going. We came on a relatively late weekday night and were surprised to find quite a few couples and families still enjoying their meals late into the evening, with a few couples enjoying their dates in the al fresco areas. We also spotted lots of neighbors who were taking advantage of the BYOB and made a mental note to bring along a bottle of wine or two on our next visit. Whether you're dining in or taking your food to go, all orders begin at the counter. If your order is to stay, you're then assigned a number and free to sit wherever you like. When your food is ready, servers come and find your party using your number card and it's as easy as that. The menu tries to run the culinary gamut, going far beyond Greek gyros (which, I was amused to find, was stubbornly spelled 'yeeros', lest anyone attempt to order a JAIROH) to also cover standard diner fare - breakfast, pizza, paninis, and salads. In the unlikely circumstance that you don't find something to pique your interest among that vast selection, a propped up chalkboard also boasts the specials for the day. Our large group ordered from all over the menu, with quite a few folks ordering the large $12 plate. It might as well have been called a 'tray' for its sheer size - a small mountain of tender, seasoned meats, warm triangles of pita bread, salad, your choice of a side, and a small cup of tzatziki sauce. Whether you go with that or the smaller pita sandwich for five dollars less, the value for your buck becomes immediately apparent. Of the three people who ordered the plates, only one barely managed to finish his food, and leftovers from the two other unfinished plates ended up getting shared around the table. My fiancé ordered a salmon burger, which came with topped with a fried egg (MEGA bonus points for perfectly runny yolks), avocado, and a side of sweet potato fries. Whether it was because his food was tasty or because it was an unbelievably great deal for ten bucks, my fiancé sang its praises up and down as he nommed. I took a risk, choosing to forego the menu to order a falafel burger from the specials, and I was not disappointed. Piping hot, crunchy, and delightfully green on the inside (cheers for non-gray, zombie-colored boxed falafel mix!), I would have happy enough with the falafels on their own, but shaped into a patty and paired with a toasty bun, hummus, avocado, lettuce, tomato, and freshly fried potatoes, I was over the moon. Our party of eight had no trouble finding seats in the large dining area and service was prompt and smiley. Regardless of what one ordered, we all left stuffed and sated for not a whole lot of money. I ate here with my family on a beautiful sunday afternoon. I ordered the Salmon Burger with sweet potato fries. All I can say is it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. The burger was moist and tasted of pure salmon. The chipotle sauce and creamy avocado paired wonderfully on the burger. The fries were crispy and delicious too! Order at the front, find a table, and food will be served. Solid spot for gyro in a pita. For $7 you get a hefty sized pita sandwich (your choice of beef/lamb, chicken, falafel and a sauce (tzatziki, hummus, BBQ, or spicy feta). You can get a platter for $12 which comes with a side (greek fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings, etc.), but the sides are all different prices ($4-5). Lots of thickly sliced gyro in the pita topped with an awesome tzatziki sauce (super creamy but not runny) and tomatoes, lettuce, and finely sliced onions. My new go to place when I get a gyro craving. if you're not feeling greek, there are tons of other traditional american options such as burgers and salads. They even sell dessert crepes. read more

I like this place. I go here often for lunch on Sundays. I like the food portions and the friendly staff. The only thing I would change is the quality of food. Wish it was healthier and less greasy then I would highly recommend it. Unfortunately, my stars are for the service, not the food. By the time I finally got the food, and reheated it, it was good. I ordered plated yeero and sweet potato fries. Apparently this place is crazy busy and loud. I called for delivery and the girl taking my order could barely hear me but I could hear all the noise in the background. I repeated my credit card number 7 times, my address 3 times and they still got my address wrong. The delivery guy had to call me to confirm the town - GPS was saying one town, the delivery ticket gave another town...GPS was right. At this point I turned on my oven to warm the food that would definitely be cold by the time it got to me..I live 1.2 miles away. It usually takes me 10 minutes to get to the area where the restaurant is. My delivery was a half hour ordeal. I live in an apartment building, a point only relevant due to the questions I got when the delivery guy called me, again, from the parking lot in front of my building. He asked me "What do I do now?" I said "how about bringing the delivery to my unit". By the time he got to my unit he says "Wow, this was quite an ordeal"...huh? I asked if he had delivered to apartment buildings before and what usually happens, do people usually come down to the street to meet you? He says "No, I usually deliver to their unit". So what was the problem this time? "Ugh, I don't know" . Sorry for all the dialogue, I am just in disbelief about how one delivery could go so wrong. I will bet the management will know exactly who I am when they see this post. I hope some training goes into place and they find a quieter area for that poor girl to take orders. I came with a friend for lunch and ordered the Greek Combo. We sat down and the food arrived within 10 minutes of us ordering. His food came out first and then I received the wrong dish and had to send it back. Once I got my food, it appeared pretty good. The portion size was large, the spanakopita was yummy, and the rice was well-cooked. The factors that contributed my rating were that the chicken was overcooked and that I found two hairs in my dish. I have had this twice. Once for delivery and the first time I are in. Delivery service was quick and they got the entire order for 7 people correct. I got a chicken gyro which was very fresh. They kind of over did it with the tzatziki, but it was still good. I also had the Greek fries which are topped with feta cheese. The only issue I had w these is I feta cheese a little bit more crumbly. When I are in I got a chicken gyro plate which was really good. Great portion which was very filling. It came w a side of my choice and I chose the Greek potatoes. I would recommend getting the Greek fries instead of the potatoes. Lastly, both times I got the saganaki and I recommend only getting it if you are eating at the spot because it is much better freshly made. They have some work to do on the service end in house, but they are new so I'd definitely give them a few more tries. read more

I am writing this review for my six year old who absolutely hated it here: He says "It was the worst grilled cheese I ever had. The sandwich was cold, the bread was too dry and maybe a little stale, and didn't have the butter I asked for. The cheese wasn't even melted." From me: Both of my boys got this odd, hard, dry sandwich, not just my six year old. When we asked them to fix it, they made it seem like we were at fault. I ordered a salad with avocado and egg whites. I have ordered this salad from restaurants for years. I specifically said I wanted to tell them the ingredients in my salad. The salad they brought had rotten avocado, and they brought me a side order of scrambled egg whites. Then argued about those. The salad had several ingredients I didn't ask for and they argued about those. Finally after making so many mistakes, they told me I should just get my money back. On top of this they screwed up the credit card charges, double charged me for the salad etc. All restaurants have bad days, I get that, but you don't need to argue with customers, never apologize then be rude when you refund the money. The parking downtown Summit is awful. I ended up parking a block and a half away on a side street, luckily it was a nice day. I haven't actually ate at the restaurant yet, but I did order some food off doordash, and it was great. The doordash got here under an hour, and the food was still warm! The food itself was really good. I recently moved here and was looking for a good Greek place, and I think this is it. I ordered a gyro and Greek fries. The gyro was so good. I defiantly recommend it. The fries were good too, but the feta on the fries was a little sour which threw me off, but other than that, I really enjoyed the food. The chicken gyro is DELICIOUS! Add a little honey mustard and you're all set. Just make sure to keep a toothbrush handy because your breath, even your hands will reeeeeekk for weeks! MANAGER "GEORGE" WITH A BAD ATTITUDE! My Sales Team, Front Desk and Manager ordered food and it was not good at all. Cheese steak and fries was cold, bread was extremely hard and the rest of our food was not enjoyable to even eat. I called and asked to speak with the manager so I could let them know since this was our first time ordering and our intention was to have enough menus to give to our guests since we no longer serve lunch here at our hotel. When I introduce myself to the manager "George" I started to explain our unsatisfactory food that was delivered, he cut me off by saying "he cannot do anything, If am not happy with the food don't order from them again". I could NOT believe this is what was coming from his mouth as THE MANAGER! I explained to him that we were not happy and I wanted him to know what was delivered and the condition of our food, but he continued to cut me off. I asked him "if he did not care if we order from their restaurant or give our hotel guests their menu by recommendation as they are one of the local Summit restaurants"? He said NO and to throw his menus in the trash and don't give to our guests. I was very applaud! I have never had a restaurant manager speak in that tone and in that way. My ENTIRE front desk staff did just that ALL MENUS WENT INTO THE TRASH AS HE SUGGESTED! We will recommend other restaurants for lunch to our guests with no problem. $$$$ lost for the Summit Greek Grill. I have always supported local restaurants which we ALL should but Summit Greek Grill will not be one of them. Unbelievable! As the Hotel Manager this is disappointing and we will continue to recommend Holal Guys instead and other restaurants to hotel guests and our staff. read more

Normally I like this place and the owner is a family friend, BUT I was most definitely caught off guard when I ordered delivery. I ordered a Shrimp on a stick Platter, which is the largest size of its kind to order. What i got was 1 skewer with 4 medium sized shrimp on a bed of soggy shredded iceberg and tomatoes? I ordered a side of tahini, and got peanut butter... i was less than pleased so i called back and wanted to speak with a manager. I was put on with the owner again, a friend of my family, and was disgusted with the way he handled the situation. I asked him several times how many shrimp come with the smaller orders because certainly this was a mistake, and he was steadfast in his answer. When i asked for a new order he was willing, but only until i ordered more shrimp in which he became irate and hung up the phone on me. GREAT YEERO! I am not a big fan of Greek/Mediterranean food but this places never disappoints me! The only bad thing is that it can get fattening to eat all the time. Their meat and lamb options are fantastic. Their sauces are always made fresh and perfectly. Anything from the kebab, to flat bread pizza, and even chicken is so flavorful and prepared well. The reason they're not 5 stars is because i think some of their salads have way too much ice Berg lettuce. It could easily be replaced for spinach or arugula. Iceberg lettuce shouldnt cost what they're charging. So stay away from salad but get everything else. read more
