Parking

12:30pm, car outside and doors locked‍. I came here yesterday around the same time. 9am - 2pm on the door. Food was good yesterday.

Fried Whiting - Specialty Breakfast combo
Ashlee J.

I came in on the back end of the day and experienced nothing but pleasant, smiling faces and great conversations. I ordered the Specialty Breakfast Combo with grits & home fried potatoes with the fried whiting. Everything was hot and fresh. I could only eat half of my meal and took the other half to-go. The Sweet Tea was really good, and truthfully, I didn't grow up with Sweet Tea so when I come across a good one, I'm sure to say so. This place is only open until 2PM, give them a try!

Salmon Patties Fried

The service was by far the best part of my visit here and the main reason I would return. Secondary is the "at home feeling" I get from parking to leaving this restaurant. I must brag on the service for a moment. I did not get her name but the woman that helped me was soft spoken and patient, and had the kindest eyes I've seen in quite sometime. It was my first time there. Within 5 seconds of walking in the door she was in front of me with a menu and telling me to have a seat and ask her any questions I may have. I looked at the menu for a good length of time because everything looked so good. Okay finally I ordered: it was going to take 15 mins so I told her I'd be back in but would wait outside in my car for a few mins. Not even 10 mins later she was at my car window with my food. This sweet woman brought my food to my car. Okay so now about the food. The Salmon Patties were good. Seasoned well and the appropriate amount of crunch in the outside coupled with the softness of the patty on the inside felt familiar like home. The rest of the food lacked seasoning. Once I put some salt and pepper the shrimp and grits gave me my whole life. I did enjoy my lunch and I would return. I suggest you try for yourself.

Salmon Cakes, home fries, and grits

I'm new to North Carolina and I wanted salmon cakes soooooo bad so I googled and this popped up. I am so happy I found this place. Not only is it black owner but everything is made to order! It's literally like you're at your house. I'll definitely be back here!

Food and service here is great! My husband and I stopped in for breakfast. My baby got cheese eggs, fish, and grits. He loved it so much he ordered seconds! My bacon and egg sandwich was amazeballs. We have a new favorite spot!

Food is still good, but get the home fries instead of grits! The grits are still ok, but these homemade taters w/onions was sooo yummy!

I've been to many places over the past 2 months and some I'll definitely have to come back to provide more photos. This is one of those places. Crav'n Caribbean is located inside the City Kitch on Milner Drive. I've been here a few times and each time has been great. Personally, I think they provide adequate portions and who doesn't love a heavy plate. I have tried the oxtails, rice and peas, jerk short ribs, collards, cabbage, and Mac and Cheese. Everything was very flavorful and the jerk sauce and seasoning is great. It's a sweet heat but not too much that you can't enjoy it. I find they were very easy to order through. Just check out their Instagram page which houses a link to order from. I love that the wait time is as outlined and each time, my food was ready and hot. It's very hard to find good Caribbean food and this one is worth trying. Price wise, they are fair so don't get alarmed. They are very big portions. They do have an oxtail steak and cheese that's priced at $30. I may give it a try next time. I'll keep you all posted if I do lol.

I then asked what do people order most and she answered that question. The beef patty was delicious! Wish I would have ordered one of each type. The curry goat had lots of flavor. The escovitch snapper was over cooked. The veggies on top were spicy and deliciously seasoned. The fish didn't have much flavor outside of the veggies on top of it. Great Jamaican food! The crust was perfect, and the filling was flavorful and authentic. I found the Jamaican Conch Fritters to be a bit overcooked, with an unexpected sweetness. The Sweet taste was okay..... It was just overcooked. Most disappointingly was the Ackee and Saltfish plate. The consistency was overly mushy, the inclusion of large cherry tomatoes was unexpected, and the cabbage was undercooked. Sidenote.....the rice and plantains were enjoyable. While I will not be ordering the Ackee and Saltfish again, I would give them a second try and order something else. #GratuityAdded #GreensboroEats #GreensboroJamaicanSpots #DaReggeSpot #GreensboroPlacestotry

We ordered two rolling cheesesteaks, mac & cheese, a jerk chicken combo (after being told they didn't have enough shrimp for the original order and asking us to substitute), plus drinks. The biggest issue was pricing. Our total came to almost $60, and the math didn't seem right based on posted pricing. When I asked for a receipt and questioned the charge, resolving the discrepancy became unnecessarily difficult before I finally received an $8 correction. That alone left a bad impression. Another concern was cleanliness. While waiting, I personally noticed and photographed visible buildup/staining in the food holding/display areas, which did not create a clean or appetizing impression. As for the food: The rolling cheesesteaks were decent but very greasy. The mac & cheese was underwhelming. The jerk chicken combo was also extremely oily/greasy. Drinks were ok. For the amount spent, the food quality and overall experience simply did not justify the cost. Cute concept, but major improvements are needed in pricing transparency, cleanliness, and consistency.

I ordered the curry chicken combo with cabbage, rice & peas, and a splaa. There was a bit of a wait, and the space is pretty small, so there's not really anywhere to stand while your food is being prepared. I ended up waiting in my car for my order. Flavor-wise, I was honestly a bit underwhelmed and disappointed. The curry chicken didn't have the seasoning I was expecting, and overall it didn't stand out. The splaa might've been the best thing I had that day. I love Jamaican food and have tried plenty of other spots that rank higher for me in both taste and price. Sadly, this one just wasn't it for me, and I won't be returning.

My initial introduction was when they were located in Stock and Grain Food Hall. I had wanted to try them for a while and luckily I was invited to a Yelp Event where I was able to sample some items. In all fairness, I absolutely loved the service but maybe it was an off night but at the time I wasn't a fan. But as some months passed, they are no longer in Stock and Grain but in a food truck in High Point. I highly suggest following their Facebook page for dates and times where you can catch them. The service was still wonderful and the food was really good. The sweet potato cornbread is one of my favs and the chicken wings and catfish bites were fried to perfection. I love collard greens but do understand, everyone makes them differently. My family is from eastern NC so we make ours savory, theirs have a little sweetness to it. I don't mind it but this time around was so much better, it was very well balanced. The mac and cheese was delicious as well. Although not pictured, do check out their Russian tea drink. I felt very nostalgic and I have no other words but it was great. I try to savor it when I get some. I wish he sold them in half gallon jugs because I would buy it. That's how good it is. They have other items like Rasta pasta, oxtails, pork chops, and turkey wings. I can't wait to come back and try more food. Give them a follow and check them out. You won't be disappointed.
