    Silver fir lodge

It's only a 45 min drive!! I was hoping to catch a few good runs after some snow this week but it is still pretty disappointing. The lodge staffs are very friendly but they run out of lots of things before 8. No chilli and no Jameson. Hope they will grab more supply soon.

We booked the 5:15p-7p session for snow tubing & had a complete blast! It was so easy to walk up & grab your tickets no real need to "arrive early" unless it's probably a weekend or busier time. We went on a Friday night & it was pretty dead. We did arrive early bc we weren't sure of the process but it ended up being so quick & easy. The longest part was them transitioning in between sessions & waiting for the gates to open. We rode the magic carpet up vs walking the hill & it only stopped once but started up again. We raced for about an hour & then decided to head out to beat the traffic of others leaving. But, it was such a fun easy experience.

    Nice Xmas tree tho

The staff is actually the worst. The most unhelpful, lazy, and useless people undeserving collecting a check. Really annoying that they do not help with renting at all and then complain with backhanded comments when they absolutely had to assist. Btw I'm 26 not incapable of doing things online. -XOXO Gossip Girl

Wild strawberries cover the mountain in the summer.

This is the first year that Snoqualmie is offering summer chairlift rides. You can get an unlimited lift ticket for 18$ each to ride one lift up and down as much as you like all day long. These can be booked in advance online. They are currently only open on Friday-Sunday. On Saturday they have live music down below around 4pm as an extra bonus to make the day even better. If you decide to stay for this there may be nowhere to sit and they do appear to run out of many alcohol options. There's plenty of parking, bathrooms available at the bottom, a BBQ shack option for getting food and staff were very helpful. On a sunny day its very beautiful here. Riding the chairlift is very peaceful. It says it takes about 30 minutes to the top. Families with very small children seem to enjoy engaging in this activity. It's easier than when skiing to get off and on the lift. Once you get to the top there are some places to sit and have a meal or you are welcome to go hike to a nearby lake. There is no signage for this and had we not been told by the attendant down below we never would have known. It is cool to walk on part of the Pacific Crest Trail. I was disappointed to not encounter thru hikers. Since you can ride the lift multiple times I wanted to walk down the hill once and then ride down the lift once. The walk is pretty easy although you may slip if you do not wear appropriate shoes. My partner really enjoyed seeing the wild strawberries. When we attempted to ride the lift down there was an hour wait and the walk down is half an hour. We are not ones for waiting in lines so we did not get to experience this. They promised that everyone in line would get to ride the lift down before they closed if they chose to, but it does appear that far less people can download at a time compared to the upload. This was a great way to spend a day. You might make a stop off to Dru Bru next door as well. I can't wait to check out chairlift hiking at other ski resorts. It's great to see they figure out a way to make it an all year long destination.

Hill to walk up or Line to go on electric walk ramp

First time coming here and we had a ball! The drive up there was beautiful Alone and worth it. We met a bunch of friends to go tubing. They have a hill to walk up and slide back down OR they conveyor belt type of thing you can stand on with your tube and ride up (but the line is long and slow). So we got a lot of cardio completed here to say the least lol! It was an hour and half of time, which was just enough! Def would come back with more friends.

60 miles from Seattle is a beautiful area known as Snoqualmie Summit. I learned how to ski on these mini slopes as a child, my vivid memories on the bunny slopes watching my gloves smoking & burning burning from the rope toe are etched in my brain and palm of my hands. As an adult I pull into the summit for a pitstop and grabbing gas , meal and a cocktail at The Brew House during the summer months. For those who've made the I-90 trek east or west you know this place. I'll never forget it and I always enjoy hitting the top of the mountains..

Brandon's masterpiece- bloodys at silver fir!

The lodge at Silver Fir at The Summit of Snoqualmie is probably the best of the best on the mountain. But, let's be REAL... the bloody Mary's are KILLER! Sometimes you get a slider - or a taco on top! Brandon the bartender rocks the Universe! They have great choices for food and some healthier options than the other lodges. I love how spacious the dining room is. This place is so clean - very clean and warm bathrooms! Also such a nice place downstairs to put your boots and ski gear on! Everyone here is so kind - and the rental room has such a kind and helpful staff! This is the lodge to be extra comfy if on the mountain! I love the female bartender over at East too! I have to give her a huge plug! And the guys tending the chaos at central are awesome too! They are world's best multi taskers b/c that crowded place is a fun rollicking sh** show and they run it well! West has AWESOME live music and comfy chairs upstairs in their lodge and it's enchanting for night skiing!

Our family already invested in season passes, rentals, and it's unknown if we'll get a refund for the registration fees for our concurrent adult and child lessons. Just move on to another ski school.

I had to stop but promised myself I would eventually teach again. That was my starting journey with Mohan. Yeas later when my kids were in Middle and High school, the school participated in the Friday night Mohan bus program. I chaperoned the ski bus for 8 years and as soon as my kids were out of HS, I started teaching. What was the draw to Mohan? They really care. Now some of the issues identified here were out of their control, some were in their control and have been addressed. We strive to ensure our students, young and old, have a great experience with Mohan. You have to understand how hard it is to staff 120+ instructors for a 1 month training and 2 month instruction season. Last year I could not teach because of a pinched nerve in my back. It was like not being able to see my closest friends, really family, for a year. Today was the first clinic for instructors for the 24-25 season and it was like coming home. So while we have issues, like other business, we strive for an exceptional experience for our Mohan family and our students. Every year we have students from other ski schools join the Mohan family. Some even become assistants and then instructors. We have multigenerational families that have been with Mohan as instructors and students. We have a lodge on the hill, Pot luck Saturday dinners, HS age instructors can spend Saturday night at the lodge. Each young instructor has a chore in the morning, so we are instilling responsibility and accountability. Come join our family as a student or instructor, I promise you it's a life changing experience you'll never forget.

Heres some suggestions i think they can do better: 1) dont put classes back to back. Allot for at least 5 mins in between as theres always student whose class gets shortened one way or another. 2) allocate the same teacher for a day / time slot / ramp - this is i believe is their biggest issue. There is NO consistency on teachers and teaching style. Its only 20 mins of class, in the 10+ classes we only had 1 teacher that repeated. Except for "pizza" and "french fries", They all use different languages and approach that can confuse kids, especially younger ones. So it feels like a whole relearning the first half of the class. 3) have a way to track student progress or know skillset before class. They barely ask what the student can do, how many classes they had or what to work on. It just wastes a lot of precious minutes to figure it out. 4) dont put beginners in ramp 3. Its smaller, shorter and just makes it more difficult. 5) factor in breaks for teachers and ask them not to use phones during class. Consider time for bio breaks or lunch and imagine how thats done w back to back classes. One of our kids teachers was so distracted w pizza coming, he kept checking his phone and looking at the staff area where food was. And because we document our kids progress, we even have that on video! While there are some really good teachers like David, Ryan or Karla, its really a hit or miss for others. You cannot request a teacher or know who you are gonna get even if you book the same day, time and ramp for weeks even months before. We come back because they are the only ones doing it. But really hope they can work on a couple of areas to make it a better experience for all.
