I took lessons 30 years ago nights with webb ski and got halfway proficiient. In 2014 I got my son ryan into thursday night lessons as a preteen. In 5 years he became a pretty good skier and in 2019 we switched to snowboard lessons on thursday nights and skied all the way to 2022 when Ryan decided he was a good ewnough snowboarder. Thanks to son Mike in the office on Thursday nights who made sure we got out on time. The Webbs were always accomodating and I will be back this year to fine tune my skiing read more

I've been waiting for months on a refund for a cancelled bus from our local neighborhood school. I still haven't received and have called and emailed no less than a dozen times. I know it was a tough ski season in WA state, but this is terrible customer service. The bus was cancelled last minute (after many of us had already purchased night tickets for our kids to ski) so we were also out that money. Very disapointing service from a local business that I know has been around for a very long time. read more

I found webbski to be excellent. Both my kids did full day Sunday programs for 10 weeks total this season. The instructors were high quality, admin was easy to deal with and I saw great progress in their skiing. Would easily recommend. read more

Run by family members who feel stuck and show their hate to customers. Also with racial biases. Registered for private lessons and was left hanging for several weeks. Be ready to get screamed at if you call asking for confirmation. Tried calling the night before asking for confirmation. The response was whether I booked lift tickets when they didn't even call me to confirm classes. When I confronted them about it, they hung up saying that they don't serving you people. Was left shocked! Rotten family business with stuck up family members with racial discrimination undertone. In case if are are wondering if is the nature of ski business. It is not. Later found out that there are plenty of nice businesses with good friendly inclusive people that you normally expect in greater Seattle area. read more

I am mostly posting because I don't think Webbski deserves just 2.5 stars! We are mid-way through our first skiing session and are very pleased so far. The communication has been great, the lessons have a good ratio of teachers to kids (my daughter's class only has 2 kids!), and they have been able to bump up my son's level mid-session. I also want to give big kudos to them for being so accommodating -- last weekend we forgot our children's jackets (which included their season lift tickets!) and Webbski was able to find jackets for them in their lost and found AND print day-passes for them to use. Very nice team of people. Incredible value. Such a long history. My daughter looked forward to lessons each week and had a blast with the instructors. The instructors seemed to have a great time too, complete with snowball fights. Over just a few lessons, my daughter's ability took off. By the end of the month, she was comfortably skiing right alongside friends a few years older. Wonderful to see. Only drawback is that the building is a bit of hike up the hill from parking. Not a big deal when the slope is packed but, after a big snow, with all the gear and maybe carrying a little kid, it can be a pretty exhausting way to start the day. I wish they would take some time to pack down a path after a storm or maybe have a little gear mobile to make it easier for all the parents with young kids. Had to cancel our lessons well in advance due to our child needing surgery for a previous year's snowboarding fall. Traded multiple emails with Margaret who apologized and excused all the delays and promised that the checks were being processed next week and Judy would be contacting me to confirm they went out. Shame on me - I failed to follow up AGAIN and now it's June 2022 and they all went home for the season and never refunded my $$. read more

if there could be a negative star rating given for this ski school, I would give it to them. I have never, in my adult life, had more dissatisfying and insulting customer service. I would have complained to the owner, however this amazing experiance was by the owner of the company, Jim Webb. Webb School is technologicly out of date. They require you to complete an online request form, to get a registration form mailed to you to fill out by hand, send back in the mail with payment by check. It was all very 1985. I was signing up a group of kids with my sister so I originally had a copy of her registration form e-mailed to me. It turns out this is unacceptable to Jim. Copies of the registration forms are not allowed, they must all be on the "Original Yellow Forms". fine. Jim also has a problem with addresses. Even though he had sent me mail to my correct address, and had recieved several pieces of mail with my correct return address on it, because my check had a different address on it, he has randomly sent documents to the wrong address on several diferent occassions, and yet, sometimes he get's it right. There is obviously NO master client file, or paperwork tracking going on. I envision a large pile of registrations and checks, with coffee spilled on them sitting on his kitchen table... paperwork handling aside, had he taken these issues in stride, and been a good sport about it I would have been ok with it. working old school has it's drawbacks, and he's old. But talking down to me, yelling at me for "not following directions" (that he didnt give), and being insulting and rude, "I just dont know if this is going to work, you just dont seem to get it". "You are becoming more trouble then you're worth", and generally acting like he is doing us a favor for allowing me to register my kids with his school, made me rethink my entire decision. if the ownership and the way this school is run is any indicator to how the lessons are ran, I want my kids to have nothing to do with them. they are going to another school that is almost the same price, but I would have paid double to not have to give that guy a single dime. read more

We had our 5 year old in the second session for the 2012 season and it was a BLAST! The instructor for our particular class was an awesome 17 (turning 18) year old that handled the class of 4 students very well (and I say this coming from being a snowboard instructor '99-2002.) Kelly worked so well with the kids, was very animated and kept them all engaged for the 2.5 hour lessons each week. The assistants that backed her up on the chairlift days were equally helpful and worked well with the little skiers. Kelly didn't mind too much that I was being a hovering parent and cruised along on the Holiday and Gallery runs with the class. Our friend who had his 4 (just turned 5) year old had 1hr "private" lessons the past 3 sundays because he was the only student enrolled in that class. I've had my little kiddo on the hill since she was 3.5, and Webbski brought her skills up a whole new level (along with her being physically stronger and understanding skiing concepts better at this age.) I was able to take her down Golden Nugget and Alpine (blue square runs) at Summit Central yesterday, 100% unassisted. I've also got to mention the end of season Downhill Chasers Graduation Special. My little skier participated in her first ever, "friendly" side-by-side slalom RACE, took a run on a tubing course and our entire family enjoyed BBQ in front of the webbski building celebrating an awesome season. My only gripe would be that they didn't keep the race results from Saturday, since we had to leave before they did the awards/trophy presentations. I came back Sunday for her final lesson only to learn they didn't hold on to the results! I guess I could go on, but overall I'd say this family run ski school is pretty solid... and watching/comparing the classes from some of the other ski schools, I'd say webbski is right up there with the best of them! read more

Great first experience skiing for my two youngest kids. My son started in the first time snowboard and my daughter started in first time ski lessons. Both raved about their instructors after the lesson. I couldn't get them off the mountain after lessons. Lessons let out at 8:45 we didn't leave until 9:30. If first experience is indication of what is to follow, we can't wait for more. Only negative is the distance of the school from the lodge, but you can't have everything... read more

During ski bus with Webbski there were multiple kids on our bus who were being regular teenage kids talking loudly and enjoying the bus ride but the bus driver falsely accused us for putting snow on the seat and talking inappropriately this problem was brought to the attention of mike Webb and he kicked us off the bus, called the cops on us and cussed all of us out telling us to "get the f* off the bus" and to "shut the f* up" when we tried to apologize. He was hypocritical to the way he told us we were acting. He was verbally assaulting us and he did not refund or give any sympathy towards the actions we were falsely accused us. All in all mike Webb is a complete unprofessional, unqualified, very disrespectful man. I would not recommend doing any services with this program. read more

These guys are wont cancel the lessons even when I90 is closed eastbound. They have no interest in the safety of their customers. I would avoid these guys. There are other reputable ski schools out there for your kids in the area. read more

We signed up our 8 yo and our 11 yo as first time skiers. The 11 yo was put in a class with only 1 other person who didn't show up our first lesson. He got 1 on 1 instruction which was great. Our 8 yo was put in a class with 13 kids. He got instruction for about 4 minutes the entire lesson. We asked if we could move him into the other class and they did. We through this was great. Both kids could go down the green hills at the end of the lessons. The instructor was great. Our issue is when we signed them up for a subsequent class. We told them we wanted the same instructor as we didn't want to deal with the overcrowded classes again. That would have been a waste of money and time. They said they couldn't promise but we could request him and gave us a 90%+ chance. They just could not guarantee it. They told us we would know the week before the lessons started so we could buy discounted lift tickets. Here is the problem. We called Monday and asked. They told us they were putting together the schedule and call back the next day. This happened daily until Thursday when we had to buy lift tickets at the discounted price. They said "we can't promise but I recommend getting those tickets!" We got the tickets. We called the next day, not scheduled yet. Finally Saturday, the day before the first lesson we are told to come the next day and they would know. When pushed that the signup had closed a week ago and why don't they know yet, they finally told us that the instructor was going to give a private lesson at that time so we won't have him. When asked why were weren't told that earlier, he said he was going to refuse our business. ???? He said we aren't worth explain things to. We are too much trouble and would not accept us in the class. We weren't interested in continuing but wow. He is the owner saying that the fact we question why were are given a run around instead of getting the information we are asking for, is too much to deal with They just want your money. No refunds people. If you complain, they will just boot you. Not what I want for my kids. Beware. As another reviewer mentioned, they do hand out candy without asking parents. read more

After several weekends of our child coming home and reporting candy being doled out at the end of each run (starburst, gummy worms, skittles, you name it), I sent an email to the main ski school address, very nicely asking them to cease feeding our child candy since she has food allergies, braces, and we don't appreciate her being sugared up before coming home. I got no response and another report of candy. So a week after sending the email I called and left a voicemail for Jim Web. He promptly called me back and claimed that he never saw the email. I was then engaged in the rudest conversation of my adult life. He told me that he has no control over his ski instructors (really?!), and that he can't afford to pay someone to follow the instructors around and make sure all of the candy that they pass out is safe for the skiers. I questioned why they are handing out food if they know nothing of the children's allergies or health concerns. He said that it's the child's responsibility not to accept food if they have allergies. This man obviously has no young children. Nor does he have a conscience. I was stunned. I explained the possible repercussions of hitting upon a child's allergy and he said to me "I've dealt with parents like you who have OPINIONS about children and food, and I rather give you your money back than change the way we do things." Oh really? He also said that he saw no reason to make all of the children SUFFER (yes, he used that word) for the sake of one. So, if you are into having your children bribed and plied with candy, and don't mind giving your business to someone who ignores the pleas of a parent concerned about the health and well-being of your child, I guess this can work for you. You claim you "can't control" your employees? Welcome to Seattle and 2013 Mr. Web. You're just one emergency room visit away from losing your business. read more

Was not too impressed with this ski school. My daughter was in a group lesson. I ended up stopping the lesson after the first three lessons because the instructors were not doing very much. They seemed bored. The school was not interested in why we stopped coming. I was hoping to get credit for the money that we had paid and put it toward a private lesson but I got no response from the owner. It is like the school is just trying to pack as many kids in as possible. They definitely need more instructors and more instructors that have an interest in working with children. read more

Ski lessons for young kids are hard to differentiate. In some ways, they're all the same. Webbski, however, seems to have figured out how to be different. They actively resent teaching small children. First impression with their staff should have been enough of a hint (ACTUAL QUOTE's "you're not allowed to join them for lunch, it's disruptive," "Remember, our instructors aren't babysitters," etc.). Mohan and Powder Pigs are kid-friendly alternatives at this ski hill. They hire staffers who recognize that ankle-biters on skis are a bit of a pain. I decided to learn my lesson the hard way. But, I got my money back after the owner called me "emotionally unstable" over a serious breach in procedure. I spoke to the owner and complained that instructor left the area while I was waiting for my (7yo) child. I thought, maybe she was off in the bathroom or something. Well... as it turns out, I discovered on my own that she was at ski patrol due to injury. I thought this was outrageous to have to pry that info out of the back office staff. Owner thought I was a pain for complaining. My only expectaion is that the instructor would have waved me down, and said "I really think she's fine, but your daughter complained of ankle pain - we're instructed to take them to ski patrol." I found out that instructor described the child as "whiney" (which may have been accurate). The owner thought that this excused his instructor from acting professionally. Truly awful customer service... and I promise I'm not a high maintenance person. I sense that they've been doing this business so long that they are just sick and tired of customers. read more

In 2014 we tried this school with our 3 children. The instructors had way too many children of young ages to watch and the children were actually in danger. Beginner students without enough instructors to keep them safe. My friend and I had our children in and would not leave because of the concern. I called a few times, and the owner's son actually blamed the instructors incompetence! I was astonished. I assumed he would back his employees. By the third lesson when all they really learned was they got candy at the end, I complained a 3rd time to, this time, the owner and father Jim Webb. He actually threatened me and was so aggressive my husband had to step in, in which he "Jim Webb" said, "you wanna hit me, go ahead and try it." I could not believe this man, he blames his instructors for his inability to appropriately staff the groups, he has such an old school system everything is a mess for the first few weeks and we all start late, he is mean, he is disrespectful especially to women. I had 2 of my kids in one class, the class I had issue with poor staffing and safety concerns, and my son in another. My son had been out skiing with his class and they came back for a restroom break during all this. Then they simply left him and never told him that "Jim Webb" had said he wasn't allowed in the class anymore. He pulled all my kids out of the class because we were a customer that complained. Then it took my husband 2 hours to get our money back for the rest of the classes (we paid for 2 - 6 week sessions). We left and went to another ski school and it was the best decision we ever made. Night and day better experience. The Webb family is a complete mess to deal with and could care less about kids or customers. The son even admitted to me he didn't have children and didnt much care for them! Wow!! read more
