    New steering

Took my 2005 Rubicon jeep in for some upgrades. Lockers gears axles, correction brackets steering ball joints . The crew at summit was great to work with everything on the jeep was dialed and fine tuned before it was returned. This will be my go to shop. I would recommend these guys no matter what you drive.

I hired Summit to do a pre-purchase inspection on a 2014 4Runner. They found several minor issues which I used to negotiate a price for purchasing the vehicle. Shortly after, I found out the parking brake wasn't working at all. I figured it just needed adjustment. Later I went to adjust the brakes and during the process I discovered the brakes were soaked in axle oil. I took it to a repair shop and it was diagnosed to have leaking axle seals and a broken parking brake cable. The brake backing plates had oil on them and were caked with dirt, a clear indication the seals had been leaking for some time. The pre-purchase inspection showed the parking brake passed the inspection. This could not be true. Also there was no mention of the bad seals. I got estimates for the repairs that ranged from $2100 to $3300. I went to the manager, Shad Kennedy, and presented the problem of how the parking brake and axle seals were missed in the inspection. I showed a photo of the saturated brakes. His response was this all happened during the 4 weeks that had passed since I purchased the vehicle. I have attached the photo I showed him. Cleary that is not fresh axle oil. I asked if they would help me with the cost of the repair by providing the labor if I pay for parts. His offer was to do the repair at fleet rate and 10% off parts. I ended up paying them $1300 for the bearings, seals and brakes. They couldn't fix the cable during the 2 days they had it in the shop, so I had that done elsewhere for another $800. Total cost for repairs was over $2100 out of my pocket. What started as a fair deal for the vehicle ended up being a very bad deal, all because they missed the obvious broken brake cable and leaking seals. They refuse to acknowledge any liability for their oversight. How can you justify charging $200/hr when you can't see something so obvious? You don' t earn that rate sorry to say.

Friday midafternoon in Prescott was not the ideal time to run into vehicle problems. My first contact was with Paul S. of Classic Restorations and Sales. Paul went out of this way to assist a fellow classic car enthusiast and ultimately directed me to Keven at Nichols Autofab. What a great experience!! Keven went out of his way to make room for my classic vehicle when room in his shop was at a premium. Keven agreed to immediately attend to my needs and further agreed to ensure the vehicle was secured inside the business and not left outside. A trip that had been in the plans for almost a year was clearly in jeopardy. Between Paul and now Keven I was able to continue on with my plans to drive Rt.66 as a participate of the Rt. 66 fun run. Repairs were to the point. Fair in price and done by a very understanding and confident staff of personnel. As a member of a National Car Club, we are very cognizant of auto service centers that provide minimal services and at an inflated price when we are traveling while knowing we are at the mercy of unscrupulous mechanics. I cannot emphasize how the services at Nichols Autofab were so very much apricated and welcomed. An unfortunate incident did two things; brought me peace of mind for the service and repairs completed and the meeting of two great men that I will consider a friend that I will indeed continue to praise.

They also threw away our parts which are legally ours and we were never asked in writing if we wanted them thrown away. They will compensate us for those parts also. The alternator WAS NOT DEAD and we were charged for ALL OF IT!! Toyota said they also couldn't understand what they were doing with their invoice because no mechanic shops computers work that way and that Nichols is doing theirs like this probably to seize the opportunity to scam( BIg Surprise There) if it came about (Like Us) and that all of their parts didn't even have parts numbers and Toyota said they made it so confusing and it was most likely to cover up their scam. Once our lawyers put everything together we will also be filing criminal charges with the Prescott Police Department as we have the voice recordings and enough proof now that it can switch to a criminal charge! We will definitely be suing them in court also. Our bankruptcy attorney is working with the trustee as well, because they have effectively committed fraud against the United States Government while we are in the middle of our bankruptcy. THEY EFFECTIVELY HELD OUR TRUCK HOSTAGE! DO NOT USE NICHOLS AUTO FAB OR YOU MAY LIVE TO REGRET IT LIKE WE HAVE! Will update further once criminal charges have been made and Kevin Nichols and "Kurt" have been served their supoenas!

I understood the the shell and bed rug had to be ordered and this shop had no part of how fast the delivery was. When the camper shell arrived, I received no phone call to let me know. Only after I happened to call them they said it was in and ready. So communication is at best poor. You'd think spending about $5,000 for all these accessories they'd be eager to get it off there lot and installed but it seems I'm wrong. Installation was ok however I didn't sit in their lobby but rather had some other transportation arranged. So they had about the full day to get everything installed. Upon inspection it with the, owner I believe, the bed rig wasn't laying flat like it was supposed to but the owner told me it'll lay flat when we had some warmer weather. All the holes needed done looked pretty good. After about a month, perhaps it was two, the bed rug was still not laying flat as it's supposed to. The owner found that when they installed it, there was about a half inch it needed to move forward. After they did this, the bed rug laid as it was supposed to. Everything worked such as the camper shell locking with my trucks locking/unlocking of doors via key flob. However my locking tailgate and key flop button to open my tailgate no longer works. I was told it must not have worked before but as the owner of the truck I'm very well in the know that it did etc. So that issue isn't fixed but I'll deal with that on my own time. I've now been back to this store for a 3rd time, once for the install, bed rug and now the fuse block I broke. Each time I'm not had the owner smile, or seem interested in my business or whatever. This is part of the lower rating then I'd loved to have given. At this point, with all the interactions I've had, I've not yet ever felt appreciated for the business I've given them. They have no idea that I have 2 other trucks I'm wanting to get shells for. This very much isn't the type of shop I'll use next time. I'm very disappointed as I always want to support my local brick n mortar businesses, sadly not here for my next trucks.

She insisted it needed to be lifted. I called around and Steve gave a decent price for install. That's about where it stopped. At first he seemed very helpful, but he does not stand behind his work and if he breaks something he won't tell you or blames others. Do yourself a favor spend a little extra money and go to someone else. The few hundred we saved at first cost us alot more in the end!! I upgraded my shocks from the rough country that came with my kit. He quoted me a $111 for front struts and around $90 for the shocks. He told me kit would take two days to install. On day 3 I call to see if it will be done, he says no. Upgraded struts ordered were the wrong one's. He says he's going to pick up the right ones today. He fails to mention that the new ones cost an extra $60 a piece and expects me to pay for there screw up. But stuff happens so I told him no big deal. Day 4 rolls around he tells me my truck is at Big O being aligned. I get a ride home from my job to wait almost 3 hours. I get truck home and after a few days truck is making noise. I hop underneath the truck to find both upper and lower ball joints are mangled. So I message him he says he must have been to the rough with them. I give him my Vin so he can look for replacement ball joints and a day later he messages back He says unfortunately your truck doesn't have replacement ball joints both upper and lower control arms need replaced. He tells me it is about $250 per arm plus install. He tells me he can do it for around $1400. I told him you screwed it up it's on you. He says now it was fine when it left his shop. Not like earlier when he said hehgot too tough with them. I contac big o they said they don't touch ball joints on alignments. They called him for me and he immediately called me back and said he would get it fixed. I message him after a week he says he found replacement boots for it. I said when can we get it fixed. We agree upon July 3rd. I message him July 2nd and ask what time he would like it dropped off. He ghosts me. My wife messages him and he says that he had other things being worked on and he couldn't do it that day. She tells him that is horrible customer service and he no longer speaks with her. The truck had less than 1200 miles on it when it was dropped off. It still had paper tags on it. It already needs upper and lower control arms replaced. Lamb quoted Around $1500 to have it fixed. He also removed all our comments from Facebook because he tried to look like he was trying to fix it. Once I sent messages of him not doing it he blocked our reviews.
