I'm sadly going to have to give this brick n mortar business a generous 2 star rating. I've bought…read morea new camper shell plus a bedroom rug for my truck. I understood the the shell and bed rug had to be ordered and this shop had no part of how fast the delivery was. When the camper shell arrived, I received no phone call to let me know. Only after I happened to call them they said it was in and ready. So communication is at best poor. You'd think spending about $5,000 for all these accessories they'd be eager to get it off there lot and installed but it seems I'm wrong. Installation was ok however I didn't sit in their lobby but rather had some other transportation arranged. So they had about the full day to get everything installed. Upon inspection it with the, owner I believe, the bed rig wasn't laying flat like it was supposed to but the owner told me it'll lay flat when we had some warmer weather. All the holes needed done looked pretty good. After about a month, perhaps it was two, the bed rug was still not laying flat as it's supposed to. The owner found that when they installed it, there was about a half inch it needed to move forward. After they did this, the bed rug laid as it was supposed to. Everything worked such as the camper shell locking with my trucks locking/unlocking of doors via key flob. However my locking tailgate and key flop button to open my tailgate no longer works. I was told it must not have worked before but as the owner of the truck I'm very well in the know that it did etc. So that issue isn't fixed but I'll deal with that on my own time. I've now been back to this store for a 3rd time, once for the install, bed rug and now the fuse block I broke. Each time I'm not had the owner smile, or seem interested in my business or whatever. This is part of the lower rating then I'd loved to have given. At this point, with all the interactions I've had, I've not yet ever felt appreciated for the business I've given them. They have no idea that I have 2 other trucks I'm wanting to get shells for. This very much isn't the type of shop I'll use next time. I'm very disappointed as I always want to support my local brick n mortar businesses, sadly not here for my next trucks.

[Encounter #1:] Had a loud rattle a couple of years ago that suddenly started and occurred thereafter driving over bumps & potholes, and assumed that something in the exhaust system had come loose. Bill took it for a test drive and did a full inspection, but was unable to find any issue with the exhaust system (turns out it was a brake shoe backing plate that had rusted out and come loose). As another reviewer had experienced, I insisted on paying Bill for his time -- but he refused any payment. [Encounter #2:] Ignored catalytic converter diagnostic codes until old Prius with lots of miles (nearly 300,000) was unable to climb hills or go faster than 35 MPH (owing to that converter becoming clogged and exhaust backing up causing loud valve noises). Anyway, Bill quoted me a price which I was thrilled with -- and when I arrived later to pick up the car (a little wait as he's so popular & busy), he said that the actual price was around $200 less as the labor turned out to be less than usual owing to the ability on my car to access & replace two components at once -- instead of the time often required to access both components separately & independently. Bill is a national treasure.

When you live pay…read morecheck to pay check and even the stimulus payment gift from President Trump just barely pays the bills, I stepped in and helped her find the reliable car she needed and I could help fund. Her friend Cameron works at U-pick-it in Prescott Valley so we drove way out there from Chino Valley (on 89A to Fain road to Sara Jane lane) to the "junk" yard. Cameron told us he had a nice Toyota but they just got a 2006 Subaru Outback in that morning that might be affordable. I drive a 2018 Subaru Outback and am a Subaru super-fan. So, show us this gem of a car. OMG. Perfect body with not a dent on it. 6 cylinder AWD. Interior reeked of cigarette and other funny smoke but the interior was well loved but will be cleaned up and deodorized prior to our purchase. Tires had mileage on them but were still sfae considering it only had 158,000 miles on it. We knew Cameron would not let her buy a lemon besides, they had no lemon's there anyway so we jumped on it. With her hard earned and preciously saved $1100 and my contribution of the rest of the cost, she got that 2006 Subaru Outback for $2500. Subaru's tend to get healthier the older they are so both of us expressed our joy and adulation to the U-Pick-it crew Cameron and Alex for this literal gift from heaven. Friendly and knowledgeable parts tenders are a Godsend. Thanks U-pick-it staff and crew.

We went over the issues & pricing for the work to be performed. Tuesday 12/9/25, I called Jeff to discuss availability & when I could bring my truck in. I was told Monday morning. Monday 12/15/25, I delivered my truck first thing in the morning & went over the symptoms again. I was told I would be called the following day with an update. Tuesday 12/16/25, After not receiving an update, I called & spoke with Justin (General Manager). I was informed that they were not able to duplicate the problem during a cold start, to which I replied that the issue happens during a warm or hot start. This was already thoroughly discussed several times. I was told that the Service Manager had failed to provide that information. Justin then pulled up my work order on the computer & found that yes, the information had been documented in detail. Again, I was told that I would be contacted the following day with an update. Wednesday 12/17/25, After not receiving an update, I called to learn the status of my truck. Justin informed me that Eric test drove my truck to Paulden & back to bring the engine up to temperature. He also allowed the truck to idle in the parking lot for an extended period & that there was no starting problem. I was told I would be called the following day with an update. Thursday 12/18/25, After not receiving an update, I once again called to find out the status of my truck & spoke with Justin. I was informed that they had yet to find the problem. During several of these calls, I was asked if this vehicle was my daily driver, to which I replied that it was & the repairs should be as prompt as possible. Friday morning, 12/19/25. I arrived at Action Automotive prior to the business opening. I found my truck in the front parking lot near the street where it had been stored overnight. Both doors were left unlocked. Furthermore, upon opening the rear hatch, I found my tools scattered across the bed of the truck. I have driven that truck in excess of 100K miles with those tools in the back & have never found them out of place. Someone had to drive my truck fairly hard to accomplish that. According to the odometer reading, the Paulden test drive story was pure fabrication. I went into the office to inform Justin that I would be taking my truck home after what I had found, as I no longer had any faith in this shop. This generated a profane tantrum from Justin, attempted intimidation & the refusal to return my vehicle key. The key was eventually "located" & returned. The original starting problem reoccurred the following day. EDIT: REPLY My truck's doors were left unlocked overnight(s) in an unsecured parking area near the main street. The tools in my truck were scattered across the bed by an aggressive driver. The odometer reading proves that the Paulden test drive story is false. You were not there & the story your son is telling you, is also false. There is a recurring theme in the negative reviews you've received. Very revealing how the common reply is to deny, deflect & initiate a personal attack upon the customer.
