It may seem a little different with a large combo of foods (sushi, mariscos, birria). However don't let that steer you in the wrong direction. This place is quality food in all categories. we were a party of 7, we got food for 3 people after a long wait, then it took almost 1 HOUR to get the rest of our food, they only had ONE girl working, sitting, serving and taking care of the register, this is insane!! Should probably get a hostess that speaks and understands English better. We were told the wait was 15 mins. and they seated two parties of 4 before us (2 ppl). I'm gonna assume she didn't get the phone number we provided right. Why? Because she spoke to us in Spanish from the beginning. My husband gave her his phone number in English (because he doesn't speak Spanish well). We ended up leaving but it's been over 30 mins and he still hasn't received a text. Definitely my go to for mariscos & Latino style sushi! I personally was not a fan of the birria, again that was my personal opinion as my brother loved it. Their dine-in experience is nice as they have comfortable seating & the staff is really nice. I do recommend you order ahead if you are in a rush as they do take quite some time to serve you. read more

This place has never disappointed us. Their Yakimeshi Fried Rice is to die for, make sure you add cream cheese to it. They also have really good sushi and all their food is delicious. This is one of those restaurants that you crave often and return. The service has always been good and the place is quiet and enjoyable most of the time. I have been coming to Sumabi since it first opened and the food is always so good. I love the ceviche and sushi my favorite things on the menu. The Birria fries are really good as well. My favorite things about the restaurant are the employees here. Always in good spirits even the cooks since you can see them from the front. Probably some of the best mariscos my family and I have had! They did an amazing job incorporating the foods. And let me tell you the drinks were off the charts! Tables looked dirty upon entrance. We were seated and our table was dirty of course. Place didn't look too busy for it being a Saturday. Food took forever to come despite only being 3 of us. Waiter was NOT attentive AT ALL. Had to get up about 3 times to ask for assistance as they never came back to check on our table. You would asume she'll get on it after me walking up to counter to ask for lemon (first time) more drink /second time) etc. They add .89 per lemon wedge to bill without informing you. So good! I was unsure of the Mexican Japanese fusion idea. But everything I've had is amazing! I almost licked my plate. The Langostino appetizer was wonderful! The sauce is delicious and you'll want to dip everything in it! The QuesaBirria tacos with the consome (beef broth) to dip the tacos in was incredible. The sushi rolls were awesome too. I enjoyed my first order of food and it's been pretty consistent since then, so the 3 stars is for the food BUT today's 'review' is about the .75 cents that I was charged for a small condiment container of chili oil!! Why in the true hell would they be charging their customers for a side of chili oil?? My order was take-out and to me that's like ordering fries through drive thru and getting charged for ketchup packets!! Make it make sense to me, please!! It's not about the money, it's about the audacity!! I usually order from here once a month, with the intention of trying everything on the menu, but they got me feeling some kind of way about that chili oil charge. So my question would be, "Is this the route you want to take to loose customers?" Did I walk into a restaurant or someone's house uninvited? I had a large party and even though there were 3 open tables that had to be cleaned that no one cared to attend to, we were left to stand there for over 10 minutes. The staff was not organized & doing random tasks. When we finally got to sit we waited even longer. No one smiled, no one offered us water or an actual drink menu, no one even looked our way. Other customers looked miserable as well due to the long wait for their food (we looked around and every customer we made eye contact with gave us the "yea, we know" head shake). We finally decided to get up and leave.. and guess what? Still, not one employee looked our way then either even though they all noticed (small place). Maybe if they hire professional staff with actual customer experience people wouldn't get as annoyed by the long wait times.
