Nothing but the best! The staff is super nice, the service is top-notch, and the food is always delicious. They always treat us really well, and everything is always on point. I definitely recommend the octopus tacos, quesabirrias, and yakimeshi bowls -- all

I thought I was going into a traditional sushi spot, to my surprise I walked into a sushi fiesta! This place was popping, I love the music! The server was so nice , sat me right away and helped me select a beverage! As soon as you sit down they bring you hot salty lime tortilla chips, and salsa! I ordered the Hot Cheetos roll, and jasmine tea. The roll was amazing, and the jasmine tea was refreshing and sweet! I'm definitely coming here again, excited to try more food! The prices are affordable, and the food was delicious!

This corner restaurant presents good options for Japanese-Mexican fusion food. Our orders were taken quickly and the complimentary salsa and tortilla chips added a classic touch. The ramen birria was decadent but not overly salty. It even came with a corn tortilla on the side to reflect its original form. The El Socio Roll arrived on a wooden tray and tasted yummy, although quite saturated in eel sauce, spicy mayo, and cilantro sauce. The sushi seemed to be prepared by someone unfamiliar with sushi rolling, as it fell apart easily. The baja fish taco came in a cone-like shape which made it cleaner and more fun to eat. In my opinion, the battered fish needed more seasoning but it was already packed with pico de gallo, chipotle mayo, and cilantro sauce. Despite being a highlighted menu option, it didn't stand out as much as I expected, but I still enjoyed it. Altogether, this sit-down spot had quick service and the food was presented well. For people looking for more refined or authentic sushi, this isn't exactly the place to visit. However, they do a great job of street-food style eats and I'd recommend them for a quick bite!

The birria fries are bomb! I had a mango soju cocktail that was also really good. I love that you have the best of both worlds with meat or fish. My new go to spot :)

I have passed by this restaurant so many times and my husband and I finally decided to try it out! I can't believe we waited so long! This is literally the best Sushi/Mexican Fusion I've ever been to! The rolls are great and the Yakimeshi fried rice is even better. Wait, did I mention the margaritas? To top it off, great service. This will be my new regular spot to eat!!!

OMGEEE! Hands down theeee best mariscos I have EVER had! Everything on the menu was delicious. My family & I had gone during lunch time on a Saturday & there was no wait. Lucky us! The waiter was very attentive & patient. When I'm in town again I will definitely stop by again.

FIRST TIME HERE WAS SOOOO AMAZING 100/10 WOULD RECOMMEND!!! I got the quesabirria tacos & crunch roll sushi was so so amazing loved both but more crunch roll tastes sooo delicious!! Our sever was so kind and attentive to us ! I'm so happy I came here .

Nathin S.

The fusion of Japanese and Mexican flavors to my surprise worked pretty well. This was highlighted in the El Socio Roll where the sauces brought a Mexican twist to the typical fresh Japanese sushi roll. Although I enjoyed the roll, the roll didn't feel as authentic to the Japanese style because it didn't hold well together. I have had Birria Ramen from other locations and it is often too salty due to the combination of ramen and birria but to my surprise the Birria Ramen was not overly salty. Walking into the location I could tell it with bustling with a fun staff and I felt very welcomed as a first time customer!

Prawns, callo de hacha and hot Cheetos roll.

First time here, I will say the service was great. We were about the only ones here but our service was very attentive and kind. I ordered the prawns and I feel they were not all that in flavor. I feel they were overpriced and they were sliced in half and still only served a little bit. We also ordered the scallops or cali de hacha and I will say the portion size was fantastic for the expensive price we paid. They served so much we had to take the rest home. We also ordered the hot Cheetos roll and it was said to be decent. I probably would come back, but I will say I've had better.

Jose G.

At first I thought the sushi, mariscos, and birria trio sounded super random.... but this place definitely impressed me with their food! Ordered a camaron enchilado and a quesa birria taco and both were absolutely delicious. The salsa was a little spicy and chips were great, service was super friendly and there was no wait when I walked in... couldn't have asked for a better experience, totally worth it and would recommend

Destiny S.

Last minute decision to try Sumabi and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The service was really fast, too. We ordered sushi which was good- not the best compared to other sushi spots we've tried, but not surprised because it's a fusion of both Hispanic and Asian foods on the menu. To us the prices seemed way overpriced for the place. The interior was nice and the food had aesthetic plating, but overall I didn't expect to prices to be as much as they were. Overall happy we tried this local spot but for the prices, we'll most likely dine at our go-to sushi spots when it comes to sushi.

Sam G.

Absolutely FIRE honestly im not one to usually like mexican fushion Sushi but Sumabi Does it RIGHT both our Tacos and Sushi items were amazing. Drinks were generously portioned and service was great! Norco looks a little more casual compared to riverside but its a great stop if your open to fusion style foods! Looking forward to coming back!

Been meaning to try this place for awhile. I'll be gentle since this is a new place, I want it to do good. I was lucky enough to show up on Wednesday, which is 3 rolls for the price of 2. Pros: sushi was actually pretty good. I had the agua chile roll and some other ones. We also ordered the birria consume and it was perfect for the cold weather. Next time I'll try the birria ramen. Cons: The place wasn't busy but they took about an hour to bring us the rolls. I did notice they had a lot of phone orders and only one cook. read more

I'd like to note that the inside of the restaurant was very clean, 2pm on a Monday we took one of the open tables and was quickly greeted by the nice woman in charge. We were started off with water, and some chips, the usual, except the salsa here caught my attention. Not too spicy but man does it have flavor! Once we ordered our food was quickly AND beautifully served. Normally you choose one or the other but not here. It seemed quality is taken very highly here because the food was amazing. I would post pictures, but after my first bite, i had forgotten until the whole thing was gone. Lol Food 10/10 Get the Guamuchilito Roll if you can, its BOMB! ...OH and the aguachiles... Now THATS an piece of Art!!! HIGHLY Recommend!! read more

It's my first time here, my bf found it from a food blogger on IG. The food is all soooo good. It's a clean and nice establishment. The ladies were very friendly and we had quick service. We ordered 2 different tacos: gobernador & camaron enchilado. Both were delicious. But, THE AGUACHILE ROLL the best roll ever invented!! Micheladas were bomb! I hope this place lasts. read more

This review is not about the food. The food was really good. I went with my family yesterday to try their aguachile roll. It was 10/10. We kept a menu incase we ordered more food. The bill came to the table and 50% of the prices did not match our menu. After asking if they can price match with the menu. We were informed that they gave us the wrong menu and the manager had just stepped in to change the menus with way higher prices. ( we did see her come in and leave, it was a young lady with light baby blue shirt). They also pointed out that prices can change at any time....... I am a reasonable person and I do understand that. I get it, inflation and what not. Yet! You can't give me a menu at any restaurant and as I order, I eat my food you then charge me way more for it because right there and then it changed. The young lady didn't even try to honor the previous price, she pretty much said Oops, too bad, by still charging us. We were really enjoying our experience, but train your employees to have more customer service and realize that if you messed up, especially with the bill, don't just brush it off. I was really dissatisfied and didn't even think of taking pictures. What a sour way leave after you had just had a lovely meal. read more

I'm pretty mad and I haven't even tried the food yet. Wanted to order from the Norco location so went to order online. From Yelp I click on the website and put my order in. Ok great, until I look at my email to see it saying your order will be ready in Colton in 45mins. So now I have to drive 30 mins away to get my food instead of 10mins. Oh and you can't get ahold of ANYONE! Tried both places and says not receiving messages. No where on the website does it state which location your ordering from. So this food better be worth it! Update: Food was good! Got a spicy roll, fish tacos birria tacos and mango ceviche. Everything had good flavor. read more

I specifically came for the Birria Ramen which was delicious. The consomé was fire had really good flavor added the chili sauce that came with the Quesa Birria Taco fire.. now as for the Quesa Birria Taco is was not appealing at all it was a small taco with alot of onion, I'd recommend a Quesadilla Birria instead for the price of the taco which was $4.52 I'd go with the quesadilla. The popcorn roll was really good as well. I was pretty bummed because I order the Dynamite Roll which they didn't have, nor they didn't have Jalapeño Roll either, then I asked to sub a fish to albacore and yet again they didn't have the fish.. but besides all that the food was delicious and it was all under $40 with a agua de Jamaica which was $3.50 for a small glass. read more

We've been here twice now. The hummingbird appetizer is my favorite. We tried the Langostinos. IMO, the price is to high. $24.00 for very little meat from the shrimp. Shrimp was mushy. The sauce was good. Don't get me wrong we polished off the meal. The first time we went we ordered a sushi roll(don't remember which one). It was ok. Like someone had already said...sushi rolls were ok, just made very poorly. Very thin and falling apart. .... I love the customer service. The place has a Mexican restaurant vibe. So, yes, the music is loud. They have 3 tvs going. Music that one would get up and dance too. The team that was working last night were dancing and enjoying there job. You don't see that anymore. I feel this place specializes in Mexican food opposed to sushi . This most def isn't my first choice to eat. But we haven't taken it off our list. read more

So I've been to Sumabi 4 times. The first experience was great. Nice attentive waitresses with personalities. Food came out in a timely manner and tasted great, this was over a year ago. Our second visit didn't have the same waitresses. After ordering our food and waiting for over 20 minutes I saw that our food was on the counter ready to get served to us. The waitress walked by our food at least three times as she took more orders. As she finished taking the order of the table next to us, I asked her if she could grab our food from the counter. She looked at us with a confused look and asked what we ordered. Although I was now the one who looked confused, I repeated our order to her. She came back with our food and said that she didn't know it was our food. Third visit we got the same confused waitress. After waiting 15 minutes to be seated (at an empty restaurant) then an additional 10 minutes for her to take our order. She advised us that they didn't have any beer. I jokingly asked her if she didn't think that three guys that obviously just got off of work would want beer with their seafood. Confusion in her face set in again. We promptly left. Fourth visit was a Hail Mary attempt. We walked into the restaurant and we're promptly seated but then ignored for about 15 minutes as the two waiters now joked around and twirled around the front desk. We got up and left. I don't think they notices us walking out until the door was open. Definitely would never go back. It was nice thinking we could avoid having to go to jurupa for mariscos. But such is life. read more

From looking at their online profile and the menu details, it is clear they are now operating primarily as Seafood Boiler. The banchan was delicious and had a nice variety, including radish stem kimchi, cucumber kimchi, fish cakes, soybean paste with nuts, fried eggplant, and more. Everything tasted fresh and well made. We started with the fried dumplings, which were crispy on the outside and filled with really tasty filling. The soybean stew was packed with flavor and had potatoes, onions, and zucchini--super comforting. The short ribs were juicy and flavorful, especially with a side of rice. The pork cutlet was perfectly crispy, and the dipping sauce added just the right touch of sweetness. Even the salad was good, with a dressing that wasn't too overpowering. They serve hot barley tea and water, and you can buy canned soft drinks if you want something else. Everything we had was delicious--honestly, there wasn't anything I didn't like. Prices were fair, and the customer service was great. Our waitress checked on us several times to make sure we were good and even showed us how to make rice porridge using the hot barley tea and the crispy rice at the bottom of the pot, which ended up being really good too. The inside of the restaurant is very clean, well-lit, and has lots of natural color (tans, brown). It appears to have been recently remodeled. There is plenty of seating and open space. This restaurant is great for groups of all sizes. We'll definitely be back to try more items.

There were not many reviews yet because it is a newer restaurant, so we went in with an open mind. The seafood tasted fresh, and the ceviche tostadas were good, although they were a little too spicy for my taste. I was also surprised that they did not come with any avocado. I feel like almost every mariscos place serves at least a few slices of avocado with ceviche, so that was definitely missing for me. The service was good, and our server was attentive. The biggest thing lacking was the ambiance. They were playing music that sounded like it was from a 1970s cabaret, which did not really match the restaurant or create much of a vibe. Mixing in some current music would probably make the atmosphere feel more lively and inviting. Overall, the experience was very mid. The food was not bad, and I cannot knock the freshness of the seafood, but the atmosphere did not make me want to stay and enjoy the restaurant. This follow-up review is long overdue. I feel the need to stir up some Yelpy interest or we are…read moregoing to lose this (hate to call it this, but it's true) great, hidden gem of a sushi place. Oh no! They have an impressive menu, very diverse. I like that you can order either large sushi rolls, or the smaller, Happy Hour, 5 pc. size so you can try more and not hate yourself as much when you waddle out the door. The rolls are beautifully made, made with very fresh ingredients, the ratio of rice to filling is perfect (i.e. not too much rice), and the rice is nicely flavored. Their tempura has great flavor, the poke salad is outstanding, the miso soup is rich, not watered down, but the biggest "prize" IMHO is the fish collar (kama), either salmon or hamachi. Here is where you separate the men from the boys. They do not sell old kama that has come from a food supplier's bag, frozen. They only use fresh, the same quality as their sushi, because it comes from the same whole fish they have selected to filet for sushi. Taste it and you know you have hit the jackpot. Before they broil it, they simply slather Japanese mayo on it and salt & pepper. There is something about the mayo that makes it sing a whole new tune. The kama is moist, tender, and comes with their tasty, house ponzu sauce. It's a real treat. Bonus points for being very reasonably priced relative to other sushi houses and they tend to be larger as well. To take advantage of the Happy Hour menu, it is available every day of the week. Monday through Thursday until 7pm, Friday through Sunday until 5 pm. It's an abbreviated menu but has great choices, fairly priced. Their service is tops, seating is limited (probably not more than 40), the interior is warm and quaint, and parking is no problem. And don't forget to respond to their friendly farewell with a duplicate, heartfelt "See you tomorrow" as you leave! Enjoy!

One thing to be aware of: we came in for dinner because the outside sign advertises $5 Margarita Mondays, but the price inside was different. The mismatch between the sign and the actual pricing was disappointing. Also worth mentioning, the shrimp dishes have been an issue for me. The shrimp are not properly cleaned and consistently have the vein intact, which means fecal matter is present. This has happened more than once, so it's not an isolated issue. Overall, great food, strong drinks, and excellent service but it would be nice to see the advertised pricing honored and better prep on the shrimp.
