The Steak was really good how ever...i placed an order for to go yesterday to have a nice dinner at the park and they DID NOT pack any utensils in the bag....Luckily I was in the parking structure when I checked the bag, however It was inconvenient that I had go back up the elevator walk in just for the Manager to tell me "We Ran Out" ...well i looked around and it didnt seem like it was busy at all, no on at the bar and they had barely sat down about 4 people. I looked at the manager and looked at the one of the chefs down the hall who was starring back at me and just simply said "you ran out? ....Okay" and gladly walked away.....as I walked away there was one of the Sullivan's employees that happened to walk out with me and i politely asked "How do I get to the Pacifica restaurant next door?" And he gladly let me know that i can gladly walk along the pathway instead of having to go another way up or down. This part was very funny to me (Being sarcastic) I then walked into Pacifica asking for utensils and as the Hostess went to grab some, THE MANAGER FROM SULLIVAN'S came into Pacifica and handed me utensils.....i looked at at him and he said "Oh we found some" and he walked away ....i had no words i was already frustrated that this could have been prevented....It was my first time trying Sullivan's and will be the last....Mind you Pacifica was filled with people. read more

We were seated in a booth just below an upper level where a company was having a gathering of what I would later learn was 14. The noise never got out of hand, they were on the clock and on their best behavior but they were having as much fun as could be had at such events. The restaurant was fully booked on a Saturday fully with hustling background ambiance that was not noisy and pleasant. Our maître d brought us to the table and let us know Raul our waiter had been there 20 years. That had me in a 'OK, Ripley, what can you do?' kind of mood. Date ordered the Pomegranite Cosmopolitan and I tried the Banana Old Fashioned. Both were excellent, cosmo on the dryer side of sweet and the Old Fashioned sweeter in a good way with a banana finish. Raul upon delivering them, delivered himself. He gave us the heads up that he has a table of 14 coming up and he would like to get our order in before them, so we are not waiting. (Raul's 10000 hours showing up.) Wife ordered salad and shrimp, I got the ribeye medium rare with the Sullivans sauce and the asparagus with parmesan side to share. All the food was tremendous 10/10. Showed up quickly and plentiful. Thanks to Raul and staff at Sullivan's, we have a local go to steakhouse. We just moved to Palm Desert in August and continuously feel lucky. read more

I really wanted to love Sullivan's, especially after such a warm greeting at the door. Our company was being hosted here for dinner, and they accommodated us in a comfortable private dining area. Unfortunately, the kitchen missed the mark across the table. My salmon was noticeably dry, while a colleague's chicken arrived completely raw in the center. When they brought a replacement chicken, it was overcompensated and bone-dry. Another colleague ordered her steak medium, but it arrived well-done; she had to rely on their peppercorn sauce which was actually fantastic just to make it edible. Dessert was a standard cheesecake, decent but nothing to write home about. On our way out, we noticed they had a great live band playing, which gave the lounge an energetic vibe. I'm willing to give Sullivan's another shot on a regular evening, hoping this was just a case of the kitchen struggling with large-party timing. read more

Service - Main server was on top of our needs but the partner that was given paid very little attention to our table and lacked proper server etiquette for a branded fine dining restaurant. Food - Beef quality and temperature was horrible, 3 of 4 steaks sent to our table were returned and none of us had antes a replacement if it was going to be anything close to the hat was served. Sullivan's on El Paseo is the sole location in CA. It seems like their operations are scattered across the US with only one restaurant in certain states. I'd venture to say we're fortunate to have one here. I think I'd been here once or twice before, but it's been a decade since my last visit. They offer plenty of food and discounted drinks for happy hour 3-6 PM Monday-Thursday. We came at 3 and were given the happy hour, lunch, dinner, prix fixe, and restaurant week menus. Talk about extensive choices. We ordered the Smoky Apple Orchard, Spicy Flamed Margarita, and Prickly Pear Paloma cocktails. All were $5 off during happy hour, but I'd only order the Spicy Flamed Margarita again. It had a seasoned rim, delicious tequila, and came with a flaming lime, which was very unique. The Smoky Apple Orchard cocktail didn't have much smokiness other than subtle hints of Mezcal and I could not taste the cinnamon stick, which was also disappointing. The Prickly Pear Paloma sounded promising, but the Grapefruit dominated the drink instead of the tuna leading the way. I had the Crab Cake Sliders ($20), Ahi Tuna Poke Stack ($10), and Shaved Prime Steak Sliders ($15). The Crab Cake Sliders were perfectly molded and pan-fried. Initially, I thought they were deep-fried, but fortunately they weren't. The sliders were accompanied with a massive amount of Roasted Garlic Parmesan Fries. They were extremely delicious! The experience took an ill-advised turn downhill when I bit into the Ahi Tuna Poke Stack. The presentation was excellent, but the tuna was the plainest and driest I've ever eaten in my life. It was supposed to come with Ponzu, which it did not, and that was the shortcoming. The Shaved Prime Steak Sliders were a huge value, but holy hell did they dominate them with an overcast of onions. Anyway, the hostess was nice and Danica kicked ass with our requests. She and the staff ensured drinks (water & cocktails) were full throughout the visit. Sullivan's Steakhouse has usually been a place for special celebrations. This Valentine's Day, however, was a disaster!! Starter: $35 deviled eggs with caviar. 6 of the smallest chicken egg halves I have ever seen, barely larger than quail eggs. Absolutely no flavor, except for the thin olive slice. The caviar was flavorless. Salt, pepper, or even paprika would've helped tremendously. Don't waste your $. Salad: the spinach salad was small and came without the hard boiled egg. The bacon vinaigrette was tasteless. The spinach wasn't trimmed, which I know a lot of places don't do, but I prefer. Main (his): blackened salmon $42 arrived without being blackened. They fixed it immediately but checked the ticket to find that it actually DID say blackened, so no one had checked. Tasted fresh frozen (mealy), not fresh. Main (hers): lobster thermidor $69. First bite was delicious, second bite contained ice crystals. Asked the waiter to feel it and he was shocked that it was ice cold. Offered to have it remade, but we gave up and said no. Then he told us that about 10 other guests had complained about the temperature. Side: crab fried rice $22 was tasty but hard, as if old. Positive: the bread and butter were delicious. read more

I'd like to piggyback off of my sister Yvette Mejia's review on Google reviews. My sister, nephew, and I visited this location on 3-8-26. We were so excited , I hadn't been to a Sullivan's in years. We were promptly greeted, which was a nice start. Our server was fairly young and didn't write down our order, which I assume was his way of trying to memorize it. I had ordered the lunch portion of the salmon as well as mashed potatoes as my side, and started off with the Caesar salad, which was good. When my entrée came out, I was brought the wrong side, not the mashed potatoes I ordered. The server offered to take it back to the kitchen to make it right, but we all know the old saying: never send something back to the kitchen under any circumstance. When he brought out the replacement mashed potatoes, they were cold. At that point I didn't even want to say anything because everything was just falling apart. To make matters worse, my sister mentioned her lobster bisque was cold, and my nephew said the same about his mashed potatoes with his steak. This place had two tables filled with patrons, IT WAS DEAD!. The kitchen staff apparently didn't have enough time to check the temperature of the food, but they had plenty of time to be on their cell phones and watching TikTok videos. With only three tables in our section, there's really no excuse for that level of inattention. I decided it was best to speak to a manager. It took her roughly 10 to 15 minutes to come to us , again, three tables, so I know she wasn't busy. She just didn't want to deal with it. I explained the situation: the server not writing down the order, the wrong side dish, and the cold replacement. To his credit, I did make a point of telling her that he tried to make it right -- but the replacement came out cold and bland regardless. She stood there listening and it was almost like I was speaking to a wall. She never offered to bring out a properly heated side, never offered any solution -- she was just going through the motions. That was really surprising, considering this is not a Sizzler steakhouse we're talking about. At that point my sister and I were just ready to leave. We still gave our server 20% gratuity because, honestly, it wasn't his fault. The fault lies with management and a kitchen that should have been checking the temperature of every plate before it left. This was a very disappointing visit, especially given that we splurged on dessert and drinks and walked away feeling like none of it was worth it. I hope management learns from this, because the valley is a very small community and people do talk. This is my experience tied in with my sister's, and it may not be anyone else's , but it was ours. My gripe was the steak quality. I eat enough steak at home that I can absolutely tell the difference between and prime cut and choice. Came to Palm dessert for the weekend with some friends and they highly recommended Sullivan's. I've been craving a good steak dinner so we didn't even question it especially since the restaurant was partaking in restaurant week and I just love a good deal! We ordered: Ribeye steak with garlic mashes potatoes. Potato's were pretty good and fresh. Steak was a bit bland with lots of fatty parts I had to cut out. Wedges salad was ok not bad . It was cold and crispy so that's a plus. Lobster and shrimp bisque was liked by the table . We asked for more of the complimentary bread to dip into it. Broiled salmon came with sautéed spinach. It took quite a while for our server to come over, and we were already pretty hungry by then. When our waitress arrive, I asked about the three options on the menu, and she said she needed to grab a paper to explain them. I told her "never mind" because it sounded like it would mean waiting even longer. I would have expected that staff would have those three items memorized, but it wasn't a big deal since I was only asking out of curiosity and ended up not ordering them. The server gave us some time to decide what we wanted, but again it took a long time before she came back, even though I could see her chatting with coworkers. After about 15 minutes, she finally returned and I ordered a medium-rare New York strip steak and the crab fried rice. Our food took about 20 minutes to arrive, which was understandable. The dishes themselves were very good and I have no complaints about the quality of the food. About 15 minutes after we were served, our server came by to ask if she could clear our plates, but we weren't finished yet, so she left. We then spent more time finishing our meal, and once again it took quite a while for her to return to our table. Overall, the food was excellent, but the service did not meet my expectations. SERVICE: We didn't have reservations, as we were only looking to hang out at the bar for cocktails and munchies, but it started rough with some major attitude from the hostess towards my wife and 91-year-old mother-in-law. Fortunately, we were able to find our own table in the bar area where Mac"Kenzie" waited on us, and her personality and efficiency were so wonderful, that we soon forgot about the run-in with the hostess. She saved our evening, and we'll certainly look for Kenzie again on our next visit. FOOD & DRINK: Once settled, we ordered a Blueberry Lemon Drop Martini, a Smoked Rosemary & Orange Old Fashioned, and a French 75. Later, we also tried a Banana Old Fashioned, and a Barrel Aged Vieux Carré. I thought the cocktails were well made, quite tasty, and reasonably priced ($15 for all martinis and craft cocktails). For food, we ordered a couple of appetizers to start: the Caviar Deviled Eggs ($35), Oysters Rockefeller 6ea. ($25), and a bowl of the Lobster & Shrimp Bisque ($12). We also tried the Spicy Shrimp Eggrolls ($19), George's Bay Seared Scallops entrée ($46), and the Lobster Au Gratin ($23). Finished off with a Coffee ($4) and a White Chocolate Almond Martini. Everything was prepared perfectly and delicious. One exception, we didn't think that the caviar added anything to the deviled eggs, other than the price. TIP: We purchased $100 worth of Sullivan's gift cards at Costco for $80, saving us some $$ for additional food and drinks. We made reservations for a date night at Sullivan's and were hopeful given the reputation, but unfortunately the experience fell short. We were greeted upon arrival and seated after about a 5-minute wait. It then took roughly 8 minutes before we were offered water, and another 15 minutes before our server, Jose, came to the table. From the start, his demeanor felt disengaged and as if he didn't really want to help us. It seemed we were simply assigned to him because we were seated in his section. Another 10 minutes passed before we were offered drinks. My husband ordered a Coke, and I ordered the blueberry lemon drop. The cocktail was a 5/10--the lemon flavor was overpowering and lacked balance. We ordered calamari as our appetizer, and bread and butter were brought to the table shortly after. The calamari was actually quite good, and honestly, the bread and butter ended up being the best part of the entire meal. For entrées, I ordered a well-done filet with garlic butter shrimp and wild mushrooms. My husband ordered a medium-well ribeye with asparagus, mashed potatoes, and shrimp. Unfortunately, my steak had to be sent back twice. The first time it came out rare. The second time it was closer to medium. When it came back the third time, it was burnt. I understand that I asked for well-done, but a burnt steak should never be the result--especially at a restaurant of this caliber. Properly trained cooks should know the difference. Throughout this process, our server seemed visibly annoyed that I sent the steak back, which made the experience even more uncomfortable. We also asked for salt and pepper, which never arrived. The ambiance was nice, with classic music playing, but unfortunately the service did not match the atmosphere. For a $270 bill, even with a gift card, this was not the date night experience we were expecting. Overall, Sullivan's felt overhyped. We came on Valentine's Day 2025 right when they opened. We didn't have a reservation so we were sat in the bar area. The bar area was filling up as it seems no one had a reservation. This was our first time here and I have to say the food was overall very good. The service was exceedingly slow despite multiple staff walking about, chatting at the bar etc. Our server was trying hard, but the only one dedicated to the bar area. They have a delicious, creative crabcake. The hibiscus cosmo? Yes please. My filet mignon was absolutely delicious and the goat cheese butter is a must have that you can't get at another steakhouse. The mashed potatoes were silky and the garlic spinach ok. The bordelaise was tasty. My husband's rib eye was overcooked but he muscled through it. We also ordered the mac and cheese but that was a pass. It was bland, below average and barely had any lobster. Nonetheless, this place is an overall win, with classic steakhouse food elevated to include some of the most popular trends of the past decade. We ordered the calamari that was very light, savory and addictive till the last bite. Next up soup. French onion and lobster bisque. Both are a meal in it self and will not disappoint. I ordered the truffled ribeye sammy with fries. Wow show stopper. My spouse ordered the chicken jalapeño sammy with garlic mash. For dessert cheesecake garnished with strawberries . Sullivan's was very disappointing. I should have trusted the reviews of others, but the friend I dined with insisted we try it. When we first arrived there was no one to greet us at the host desk. Three people came by and said someone will be right with you. Our server's name was Daniela. The first disappointment was that there was no beers on draft and she sat us at a wobbly table. We started with calamari and the shrimp egg rolls. Both were ok. The egg rolls were blah (better at Panda Express) and the calamari was too chewy. The lobster bisque was an unusual color for lobster bisque. It also tasted more like clam chowder; however, the iceberg wedge salad was good. I had a ribeye steak which was good, but could've been better. Their house steak sauce was terrible; they did carry A1, I just regret not asking for it instead. The mashed potatoes were too garlicky. My partner got the chicken. It wasn't terrible, but it could've been better too. It was drenched in a thick gravy like sauce. It reminded me of cream of mushroom soup. Daniela asked if we wanted take out boxes for what we didn't finish, but we said no; she just chuckled as if she knew the food wasn't good enough to take home (I'm playfully assuming. Daniela was great, it's not like she cooked the food or decided what to put on the menu.) We ordered cocktails. We first tried to order a Paloma, but they were out of the ingredients to make those. I got a spicy margarita. It wasn't that spicy or strong. It tasted like orange juice and they lit up a shot on top and brought out this flaming little drink. My friend got another cocktail they brought out in a little smoke filled box. Presentation is nice, but not at the cost of a good drink. I tried the key line pie for dessert. The color looked a bit off and was a yellow and not the green I've come to know key lime pies to be. This pie was so tart. I think they used too many lemons or limes. The atmosphere was nice, but a little dated looking as if it would've been really cool in the early to mid 2000s. Food was mediocre. Steaks were cooked incorrectly even after being sent back. Server asked if the second try was better when the steak was clearly on the plate not eaten and still not cooked correctly. Fruit flies were all over and landed on my food. Appetizers were the best part even though the shrimp were not cleaned all the way. Was taking my employees out so we took dessert Togo. Dessert was okay, couldn't take the crème brûlée Togo so that didn't help the already mediocre situation. Cheesecake was good. read more

Sullivan's Steakhouse delivered such a great dining experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was classy but still felt comfortable and welcoming--perfect for a night out. What really made the night stand out, though, was our server, Lianna. She was genuinely amazing. From the moment we sat down, she was attentive without being overbearing and made us feel taken care of the entire time. Her recommendations were spot on--everything she suggested ended up being some of the best parts of our meal. You can tell she really knows the menu and takes pride in what she does. We came here for happy hour they have a good happy hour menu. We ordered the spicy cauliflower which was delicious- lightly fried with the right amount of spices. And the spicy shrimp. Let me begin by dispelling some misconceptions: When you go to a steak house, don't review unless you order a steak. Don't order a 6 oz steak and complain about the temperature it's served. Venting complete. This is a perfectly good steak house. 8 oz Filet was a perfect temperature and cut. Seared outside, pink and soft inside. No Gristle. Server was great. However, they had a big member event going on and that was consuming some time. Decor was nice, a bit dated for me but clearly popular with the Palm Desert crowd read more
