I have called Sullivan septic and spoke to them several times (4 to be exact) about a hole near my tank, that I needed them to look at and give me an estimate. Each time, they gave me a day/ days that they would come out to look at it. On all the days they gave me, NO ONE showed up or, no call of cancellation or rescheduling was made by them . Very unprofessional. I understand company's get busy and things happen. So I called them different times throughout the season,giving them the benefit of the doubt. Each time they they gave a day, and still never showed. No attempt has been made on their end to rectify this issue . They have continually blown us off. read more

I called Sunday night. I let them know that there was no emergency. I was scheduled the next day for the following day. Joesph was professional and fast! my septic lid was extremely deep in the ground. My tech said that it was the deepest one he had ever come across. Fair Prices and Great Service! Pumped out a full septic without mess. The starting rate is very competitive and they didn't go crazy on the total as my system is larger than their 1000 gal standard starting point. True professionals which is hard to come by these days. Called to find out if they do repairs on septic lines. Woman said yes but are backed up. I was okay with that and asked how backed up so I can get added to the list. Oh, I don't know, he has the list and when he has time he will be out. I felt at this point I'm begging for their business. I thanked her for her time and hung up. At no point in time was it offered to add me or ask me about my problem or where I was located. I don't like to leave bad reviews for businesses but this was unacceptable. At least throw out a date to me even if it's 3 months out and let me determine if I want to be on that wait list. read more

Outstanding company and owner! Contacted Sullivan Septic and Sewer to pump out 2 old cisterns at a property that has a home built in 1910. Spoke with Debbie and was scheduled within 2 days! Ryan the owner came out and completed the work and was very professional and knowledgeable about what these 2 old cisterns were used for back 100 years ago. I truly appreciate the customer service we received as well as the added knowledge of the process and what these old cisterns were used for (storm water from gutters and grease trap). These guys are"sewer"-ously awesome :) Es-"septic"-ally amazing. (All right, that last one was bad). Seriously though...no one wants to deal with sewer problems, but luckily these guys will...and will do a great job at it. They are knowledgeable and won't lecture you too much if you've been flushing stuff you shouldn't have :) They are a small company and you'll find yourself dealing with the owner frequently which makes dealing with your dirty little problem that much easier. read more

I am sure these are great guys and a great company. However, it was difficult for me to get them to come out to my house. I had sewage backing up into my shower and I was clear that I could take off work to be there. I stayed home all day yesterday. My service date was pushed back twice and I was told this morning that it could be today but might be tomorrow. I had heard great things about this company and I understand weather delays, but at least apologize if you say one thing but can't do it. I was looking forward to working with these guys on my new house as I am new to the area. In the end I called another group and they set a time for this afternoon. read more

As with Jonathan's earlier post, I could not get these guys to come out to look at a septic issue. I had an issue with my septic field which caused my tank to fill every 8-10 weeks. I emailed a service request before Thanksgiving-no response, in the interim I had my tank pumped again by another company who did not perform service. I then called again before x-mas and was told that they would not be able to come out until after the holidays. Understood. I then called again the 2nd week of January and was told that I would be contacted in the next couple of days. Needless to say, they never showed up. I did contact another provider who did come out in 2 days after I spoke to them. They got me an estimate and performed the work flawlessly within 4 days of my initial call. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Ryan and the guys at Sullivan Septic. We recently bought a house and shortly after going under contract, we discovered that the 50 year old house had a septic system that was original to the house (they're only supposed to last 20-25 years). My parents had been using Sullivan Septic for years so we called them to do an inspection. He quickly discovered that just about everything that could be wrong with a septic system was wrong with this one. He was very candid with us and told us that as much as he wanted the business, he could not, in good faith, recommend that we buy the house without the issue getting fixed. He said he'd love to help us, but that we should walk away if the sellers won't fix it. He wrote up a full report for us to provide to the seller detailing all the issues he found. We spent the next 3 months arguing with the seller to prove to them that the problem needed to be fixed in order to sell the house and to get them to pay (not a small price tag, unfortunately). Ryan was unbelievably helpful and patient throughout the whole process, which was extremely appreciated given how difficult the sellers were being. We even had problems with the county getting the permits approved, but Ryan pulled every string he could to get us approved before the deadline (which was a very short time frame). He even got the head of the county out on a Sunday afternoon to approve the permit 1 day before a new EPA law going into effect on our new system. He and his team worked 3 full days on the coldest, snowiest days of the year in February to get our new system installed, while then going out to snow plow all night just to come back in the morning (Ryan also owns a snow plowing company). It has now been a few months since our system was installed and he has still been coming back to check on it, tweak things here and there and grade out our lawn now that it is finally starting to thaw out. He's a great guy to work with, very knowledgeable, always returns our calls, etc. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone within the Chicago area with any kind of septic/sewer needs. A++ read more
