Fettuccine ai funghi and tagliatelle alla bolognese

This place is just fine, it's quality Italian but you would hope it is quality given the prices. Nothing stood out too much - but I would say I enjoyed the apps much more than the main pasta entrees. We got the roasted brussel sprouts topped with pomegranates, the crocchettes, and the burrata. My personal favorite was the crocchettes with the burrata (w some fried artichokes) being the most plain but we enjoyed all of them. Among 3 people, we split 3 apps and 2 pastas. I wouldn't come back here for either of the pastas we got, but they were ok.

3.0 / 5.0 I went to this restaurant because I heard it served stylish and delicious Italian food, but unfortunately the kitchen staff wasn't at work and I couldn't have lunch. I was happy that they gave me tiramisu for free, but I think it should be prepared in line with opening time.

Sullaluna is part bookstore, part wine and cheese bar, with shelves of beautifully illustrated kids' books tucked all around that make it feel super cozy and welcoming to browse. I recently stopped in for a quick catch up with a friend before dinner. We shared the Charcuterie and Cheese Board and the Mint Herbal Infusion tea, which fit the setting, but the actual cheeses and meats were not quite my usual type. There was a bit of gaminess in the selections that my palate just did not love. I'd still come back just for the ambience though, and I do want to try the Guancia di Manzo.

Came here on a whim with some buddies not expecting much. Ordered one of each of the pastas and a handful of appetizers and it was delicious! Would recommend the roasted pepper and burrata paired w/ the focaccia! Service was unbeatable. Our waiter, Fulgi, was so attentive and handsome!

Unassuming and quaint find in the west village. Sallaluna offers a fresh cuisine within a bookstore. With warming temps, this will ultimately be a popular destination given its open-to-air dining experience. Ordered the fried rice croquettes, gnocchi and orecchiette. Orecchiette was my favorite dish- very light and fresh sauce. The gnocchi alla Sorrentina also good, but was a bit too cheesy for my liking. Courteous service but often very slow. Very cute bookstore downstairs, would definitely check it out!

Had a lunch reservation on the weekend and were seated on entry. The service was friendly though a touch slow. Was hoping to get another drink order around the middle but was unfortunately unable to get one in. We ordered three types of pasta which were all good. Portions weren't too big but I did leave generally satisfied. We also ordered a salad which was refreshing. The best part of this place is the ambiance. It's a cute place that's part restaurant, part bookstore. Lots of childhood books bringing back some old memories as I enjoyed my lunch. Recommended giving the place a try.

Super cute place in West Village for a date or a brunch. Apparently its a Venetian cafe imported into NYC Food: 4.5/5- i think this is more closer to what we might get in Italy. It tastes like home-made pasta and the portion is moderate- not like typical American portion Ambiance: 5/5 i personally love books so i love how they were able to make a book shop into a cafe / wine bar. Its a good spot to come by yourself, enjoy their children's books and the overall ambiance. Super cute and feels cozy Service: 4/5 nothing spectacular but overall decent. This place is "instagrammable" so recommend it for girls who like to brunch at cute places!

Lovely place Cute decor Friendly staff Prices are a bit on the pricey side Yummy bites but small portions The book concept is great but I would love them to have more of a selection in English. Aperol spritz was nom Reservations recommended Happy hour starts at 3pm

Here for a pop up and a drink. This event was really cool. I decided to start attending pop ups on Saturday's to enjoy some girl stuff. I got to meet the doctor behind the formula and got some cool gifts and drinks. The space although cozy it offered books, a cafe indoor and outdoor seating space with the cutest decor. I saw the menu and it was really inexpensive in a nice location in SoHo.

Sullaluna is a charming bookshop bistro lined with books, making it the perfect spot to relax or hangout with a bite to eat. Their menu is mainly vegetarian and vegan, and the presentation is also super pretty. The Panna Cotta and Chocolate Soufflé JUST launched and they're super delicious. Lastly the staff is super kind and gave helpful recommendations. What I tried: Non-Alcoholic Mimosa ($14) - Orangey and refreshing but kinda expensive. Frittata de Patate ($17) - The egg isn't too strong, with soft potatoes and perfectly crispy toast topped with a delicious tomato spread. Zucca al Forno ($22) - Baked pumpkin, goat cheese, pomegranate seeds, and walnuts. Such a perfect balance of soft and crunchy! Cavolo Nero Salad ($17) - Loved the unique broccoli presentation! Panna Cotta ($12) - Thick and creamy, topped with strawberry jam. Chocolate Soufflé ($12) - A dreamy lava cake paired with vanilla ice cream.

The most adorable Italian bistro-bookshop combo! I would return for the ambiance alone. I love the soft lighting with the books-- the glow adds such a warmth and coziness. If you come you absolutely must venture downstairs to see the entire store. As for food, we ordered the gnocchi alla sorrentina and pastiera napoletana (sweet ricotta pie) for dessert. The gnocchi was good, I liked the sauce a lot and it was very cheesy. A tad on the mushy side for my taste, and I wish there was more basil. The pie was tasty. The orange flavor was quite strong. I'm not partial to citrusy desserts; if I had known this I would have ordered something else. It still enjoyed it though. I like how the crust reminded me of pound cake. Overall, I would return. I would love to try their cacio e pepe and their tiramisu. I'm dissapointed they took their pesto off the menu though. I came with a friend around 12:15 on Saturday and we were able to get a table immediately, though had we come 20 minutes later we probably would have had to wait. Service was good, our food came out in ~15 minutes.

Sullaluna is a cute brunch spot with a cozy aesthetic and lots of seating. It's in such a good area in the city too, with many other shops, desserts, and cafes nearby. The menu is simple and the food is good but not mind-blowing. However, it's still worth the visit, especially since it has a unique concept of being a bookstore and cafe/restaurant.

    Vicki C.

The concept is cute, but unfortunately there really only were Italian children books so I could only browse other cute items and cards The food items were quite pricey, but we thought they tasted alright (my orecchiette was too salty...) and service was not great (felt like they wanted us out even though there were empty tables still), so probably will not return.

However; the reason why I'm writing this update is because there are some changes at the store. Firstly; the large "Information Desk" at the rear of the first floor is no longer there. Instead, there's a small one on the right side of that floor (and it's almost hidden). Secondly; the huge first floor display of beautiful photo books of NYC and environs is now much smaller (although it seemed like there were more of them on the lower level than previously). There's also another change; the restrooms are now only accessible with a code, and a code can only be obtained via a receipt - so if you don't buy anything, you can't use the restroom (I ordered some books online later, since I didn't want to lug them home from the store). Further; employees don't have access to a bathroom code (obviously they have some other way to access the restrooms). I was there for a few hours - and if it wasn't for the fact that I had a dental appointment nearby afterwards, it would have been problematic. Having said that, I do realize that the restroom situation is an issue; at the Union Square store in particular, there used to be a big problem with homeless people and undoubtedly a corporate decision was made. I'm still keeping a five-star rating because of the employees and because the store has a great selection.

It feels so nostalgic and I'm so glad to see it's around. I used to spend hours in here during high school / college years admiring all the book covers and all the pretty sections for journals and such. I used to frequent the large Union Sq location until it closed. I'm guilty of being a primarily ebook and audio book consumer but nothing beats the feeling of holding one in your hand, flipping the pages and writing that book smell! This location is well kept and organized. I actually came in looking to buy a hard copy of Wuthering Heights but ended up leaving with 4 books total! Old habits die hard but I was glued to their stationary and journey section, everything's so pretty! However I do think those items are pretty overpriced, $20-22 for a small journal. All these years I still can't bring myself to spend that on a blank journal...no matter how pretty the covers are. But hey they make good eye candy. Cashiers are chill, friendly. I'll be back! Can't wait for a chance to visit again.

I brought in three statue items unopened in the original packaging. I checked on ebay for what the items sold for (not asking price but sold price) and it added up to about $600, I lugged the items over there and had to leave them there because they wouldn't get to them right away. The people/kids working there were very nice. I went to have lunch and got the text to return, and they are offering $150. So I picked up the items and turned down the offer. Again, they were very nice, it's just I wasn't willing to accept 25% of the value. I figured at worst it would be 50%. But I am better off getting closer to the actual price on ebay. Now, Buying. Lots of very expensive and exiting things to get, and I didn't have time to price check things so much, but my son is into the Nintendo switch and i spotted a used Marvel VS Capcom game he might like. It was $34.95. But just in case, I pulled up Amazon and looked the game up. A brand new one costs $21.79. So it would have been a terrible idea for me to buy it there. I guess if you are leaving work and need a quick gift, you might stop in and pay too much for an item. If you are in real trouble and don't have time to wait for an Ebay sale, you might consider selling your collectables for 25% the value, this place might come in handy.

It's the biggest breath of fresh air to find a rare book store owned by a woman, and to be treated like a human being. I normally get side-eyed from rare bookstore owners and some of the conversations I've had sound like: "May I see the Portrait of a Lady in the case?"
